Non-Citizen Driver’s Licenses
Bogging Down Colorado DMV

CBS News, by Staff

DENVER - A new kind of driver’s license for non-citizens will soon be available but even before the Department of Motor Vehicles can issue them, advance requests are clogging up the system. Tens of thousands of drivers in Colorado are calling the DMV to register for the new ID which is clogging the system. Those licenses are the result of a law passed last year that aims to improve public safety by making sure every driver in Colorado, regardless of their legal status, has a license. The law doesn’t take effect until Aug. 1 but the DMV began making appointments

States like TN found that granting driving privileges to illegals only created a magnet. It stopped doing that in 2004 with S.B. 3430.

One of the strengths of our federal system is that states are laboratories, and can learn from the experiences of other states. CO has replaced experience with ideological folly.

People who ignore our borders will also scoff at our traffic laws.

The fact that these applications are overwhelming the CO DMV also indicates that there are probably many more illegals in CO and elsewhere than the Feds care to acknowledge.

The legalized dope environment is driving responsible people out of Colorado, discouraging traditional tourism, and attracting dregs. New gun laws have caused businesses and productive people to relocate. Drivers licences for illegals is a draw for net tax recipients. And, of course, the war on the oil and gas industry is also extremely harmful to the Colorado economy. Look out Colorado citizens. Your taxes are headed to the moon.

President Obama admits U.S.

We blew it on ISIS — but at least we’re cleaning up the world’s messes. President Obama admitted in an interview Sunday that the U.S. “underestimated” the Islamic State — but then he abandoned his trademark cool diplomacy to take a shot at other supposed superpowers for failing to get going when the going gets tough. “When trouble comes up anywhere in the world, they don’t call Beijing. They don’t call Moscow. They call us,” Obama said on “60 Minutes.” “That’s how we roll,” the President added. The exchange with CBS correspondent Steve Kroft came after Obama admitted that the

Bernard Madoff’s last surviving son was under investigation for possible involvement in his father’s multibillion-dollar Ponzi scheme until the day he died from cancer earlier this month — but scrutiny over his $16 million estate lives on. The court-appointed trustee seeking to recover money for bilked investors began taking aim at Andrew Madoff’s money even before his death, filing an updated lawsuit this summer accusing him and his brother of having full knowledge of their father’s scheme and using it as their “personal cookie jar” that they tapped through sham loans, fictitious trades and deferred compensation. Andrew, who died Sept. 3 at

Many of you may be confused by the alternate labels used for the Islamists rampaging through Iraq and Syria. Some call them ISIL, some call them ISIS, and some call them Islamic State. Right now, they are calling themselves the Islamic State, after previously using the terms ISIS or ISIL. Now, I don’t really care what they want to be called. I stand with Winston Churchill on this, who was famous for mispronouncing words in the languages of his antagonists, including, of course, France. He’d probably call them “ISIS” and pronounce it “Asses.” But I do care what our president calls them. Because

Castelluccio, a painter and expert in Baroque European art, found the work at a Frankfurt dealer, but no one knew who the artist was. It was mistakenly marked as an “18th-century Italian holy painting of Saint Sebastian,” the actor told us. “They had no idea who painted this.” After winning the work at auction, he had it authenticated

After displaying reluctance to join an international coalition against Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS/ISIL) terrorists, Turkey is now signaling its readiness to do so, but first it wants a no-fly zone over Syrian airspace and a buffer zone on the Syrian side of the Syria-Turkey border – neither of which are priorities for the U.S. Defense Department. President Recep Tayyip Erdogan returned from high-level meetings at and on the sidelines of the United Nations in New York and told reporters in Ankara Friday that his government will now address what role Turkey will play in the campaign against ISIS

WASHINGTON — Bureaucrats in Ferguson, Missouri, responding to requests under the state´s Sunshine Act to turn over government files about the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown, are charging nearly 10 times the cost of some of their own employees´ salaries before they will agree to release any records. The move discourages journalists and civil rights groups from investigating the shooting and its aftermath. The city has demanded high fees to produce copies of records that, under Missouri law, it could give away free if it determined the material was in the public´s interest to see. President Obama´s poll numbers are plummeting in deep-blue states such as New York and California, with core liberal supporters who have stuck with him through thick and thin beginning to sour on his leadership. Obama’s decisions to punt on immigration reform, defend government surveillance and attack fighters in the Middle East have all alienated parts of the coalition that elected him twice to the White House. The growing dissatisfaction on the left could limit Obama´s ability to help Democrats in the midterm elections, and could threaten his political legacy if — as happened with George W. During Clinton’s presidency, his 1994 proposal to have the federal government pay for 100,000 additional police officers was one of his signature talking points—and certainly helped neutralize GOP attacks about Democrats being weak on crime. Meanwhile, there’s no doubt that the crime rate went down dramatically during his presidency. But does one thing have much to do with the other? The Facts We will leave aside the debate about whether there were actually 100,000 additional police officers hired under the nearly $10 billion in grants provided by the Community Oriented Police Services program between 1994 and 2000. For President Obama, the color of a man’s skin is far more important than the content of his character. On the night when a police officer was shot in a Missouri town torn by racial strife, the president donned a shiny tuxedo to attend a ritzy black awards dinner, where he said police nationwide are to blame for community mistrust, even claiming that “most Americans” think the country is racist. Remember, when Ferguson exploded in racial rage in August, Mr. Obama chose not to curtail his 15-day vacation, spending day after day on the golf course in the white-skinned, white-wined, millionaire playground

Days before Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi warned of terrorist plots on subways in New York City and Paris, a video emerged showing an ISIS shill named Farah Shirdon widening the scope of the threat. “God willing, we will make some attacks in New York soon,” he said in a video interview with Vice News last week. “A lot of brothers are mobilizing there right now.” He vowed that U.S.-based fighters are “mobilizing for a brilliant attack.”
