Obama´s day: Lunch with the veep
USA Today, by David Jackson

Original Article

Posted By:Scottyboy, 7/3/2014 8:07:07 AM

It´s a light pre-holiday public schedule for President Obama on Thursday. In addition to normal meetings and briefings, Obama is scheduled to have lunch with Vice President Biden. No public appearances are scheduled for Thursday, at least so far. On Friday, the Fourth of July, the president and first lady Michelle Obama are scheduled to host a White House barbecue for military service members and their families.

Comments:
Barry gearing up for a long holiday weekend to relax and survey the damage he has wrought.

I hope the military members finish cleaning the bathrooms in time to serve lunch. Maybe when they´re finished cleaning up the mess, they can enjoy some leftovers.

Sorry but I can´t fathom any self respecting military person or their family even remotely considering going to the White House.

Well come to think of it, I suppose there are some "Obama Hindlickers" in the military. I suspect that is what Obama wants, a left wing marxist military that will attack the public at large.

#2, if you are Commander-in-Chief, you can order as many uniformed soldiers as you like to populate your photo-op. Just like Michelle ordered up an honor guard to "accessorize" her Oscar video appearance. Children playing with toy soldiers have more respect for their armies.

Here is a multiple-choice question. See if you can get it right. Asking for advice from Dick Cheney on foreign policy is as sensible as: A. Getting advice from Anthony Weiner on appropriate texting B. Asking Ted Cruz for counsel on the virtues of silence C. Expecting Vladimir Putin to say he’s sorry D. All of the above OK, the answer—(D)—is pretty obvious. Maybe too obvious. Maybe this subject is so plainly straw-mannish that it’s not even worth writing about. But what the hell, you can click off this page anytime you want, and space is free on the Internet.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Wednesday criticized former Vice President Dick Cheney’s views on foreign policy, describing his advice to House Republicans as “terrifying.” “Taking advice from Dick Cheney on foreign policy? That’s a terrifying prospect. We should be learning from our past mistakes, not repeating them,” Reid, D-Nev., said on the Senate floor Wednesday. “They’ve got to be really careful with advice they take from Dick Cheney. Dick Cheney is more responsible than anyone else for the worst foreign policy decision in the history of the country -- the invasion of Iraq,” Reid said.

Authorities have started arresting protesters who were planning to block part of Interstate 70 near the St. Louis suburb where an unarmed black 18-year-old was fatally shot by a white police officer. Groups of protesters were gathering in the middle of a road near interstate on-ramps Wednesday ahead of their plans to block access to the highway. After being warned to stay out of the street, some refused, and an Associated press reporter saw at least 7 cuffed by police. Organizers say they want to bring rush hour traffic on I-70 in Ferguson to a standstill and expect to be

Security contractors warned Hillary Clinton´s U.S. State Department nearly three months before a deadly 2012 terror attack on its diplomatic outpost in Benghazi, Libya that guards were quitting at an alarming rate, leaving the facility vulnerable to assault. Judicial Watch, a center-right watchdog group, said Tuesday that it obtained damning emails as part of a Freedom Of Information Act lawsuit against the State Department. They paint a picture of frantic warnings about armed security personnel not showing up to work and refusing to work night shifts because they were afraid of the Islamist militia that ultimately killed America´s ambassador to

The Republican-controlled House on Tuesday pushed a resolution condemning President Barack Obama for failing to give 30-day notice to Congress about the exchange in May of American prisoner Bowe Bergdahl for five Taliban leaders held at the U.S. prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. The vote castigating Obama came at a crucial moment for the administration as it sought to rally international and congressional support for steps to combat the rising threat of Islamic state militants in Iraq and Syria. The debate and vote coincided with a White House meeting in which the president was to discuss his strategy

WASHINGTON--US President Barack Obama will tell the American people on Wednesday night that he plans to order strikes against Islamic State forces in both Syria and Iraq until the group is ultimately destroyed. As we suspected, President Obama tried in his Wednesday-night speech to make it sound like he was doing something new when he, in fact, he is not. Moreover, in describing his response, he made plain that he doesn’t take the threat to the homeland seriously. For a threat his advisers say is greater than that posed by al-Qaeda after 2001, he proposed measures suitable for Yemen and Somalia. No, really — that’s the plan. For starters, the president doesn’t believe the Islamic State is a current threat to the U.S.: “So ISIL poses a threat to the people of Iraq

Rarely has a president faced a greater challenge in establishing his credibility for a new foreign-policy move than Barack Obama did in his nationally televised speech tonight. A CNN poll earlier this week found that just 30 percent of voters thought Obama had presented a clear plan for fighting the Islamic State. While Obama now pledges to ask Congress to train and aid Syrian rebels who would fight the group, voters remember that he backed similar plans in Syria in 2013, when his advisers saw Syrian president Bashar Assad as the major threat.
