Federal Gov’t Sues Wisconsin

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), a federal agency tasked with enforcing workplace discrimination laws, is suing a private American business for firing a group of Hispanic and Asian employees over their inability to speak English at work, claiming that the English-language requirement in a U.S. business constitutes “discrimination.” Judicial Watch reported Tuesday that the government is accusing Wisconsin Plastics, Inc. of violating Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination based on “national origin.” The government argues this includes the “linguistic characteristics of a national origin group.” Irene Garcia, the blog editor and Spanish media liaison for

The term "national origin" should not include the "inability to speak English at work." Surely a case could be made under OSHA regulations that health and safety could well be compromised (not just for the employee but also fellow employees and customers/patients) if an employee cannot understand health and safety regs.

If discrimination was the reason for termination, why would the company have hired the employees in the first place?

From a safety and liability point of view being proficient in a single language in the workplace could mean the difference between life and death in an emergency, or should employers simply be shielded from liability when of a workplace accident is caused by a language barrier???

Next year, my granddaughter´s Catholic grade school will have a required course in Spanish. Over the past three years, there has been an influx of Hispanics to the school (on our beloved vouchers) and they are requiring the other kids to learn Spanish.

I wonder if the pesky Religion course will be dropped for this?

What is needed is a federal law stating America is a English speaking country and English is the only language all must learn and use at all times in every communication with no documents printed or used for legal or otherwise in any language that is not solely English.

Okay, what´s good for the goose is good for the gander:

1. Sue Obama for not giving his speeches in multiple languages.
2. Sue the military for not giving their orders and commands in multiple languages.
3. Sue Miami for discriminating against English speaking workers by designated Spanish to be the official language of the city.

And on and on.

Speaking and writing English should be a minimum requirement for citizenship, for working in the U.S., for going to school in the U.S., etc. English speaking Americans should not have to alter their way of life to suit immigrants or anyone else in the U>S> If anyone does not wish to learn how to read and write English, he/she should remain in their Country of origin.

I am Texican and fluent in Spanish. When around Mexicans who go on in "Spanish", or what purports to be Spanish, to exclude me from their conversations, I join in much to their surprise; I commence in Spanish with every Mexican I meet and to a man and woman they are put off, uncomfortable, and resent same, clammng up around and with the Anglo.

Now we have three ongoing assaults on American culture all from this trio if racist groups who cannot govern themselves, and all of whom are followers of Thanantos and are determined to destroy America´s heritage and are doing a damn good job of it as we PC bleeding heart ourselves into third-world chains.

Impeach Bow-Boy now, close our borders, and institute a return to place of origin without further delay. It´s time to man the barricades people.

Living in a sea of brown from around the world, this burns me up. Those speaking their language assume you have no clue what they are saying. Worse yet, is companies that will not hire Americans or have signs in front of their business in another language that indicates they don´t want Americans as customers. This week I told a Haitian that I have only met one person who said they were grateful to be in this country.

Another company only hires Columbian drivers and some of them don´t comprehend English.

A friend tells me the tractor trailer drivers that show up to deliver at their business do not speak a word of English. How can they read road signs ? Isn´t that a safety hazard ?

# 7 That issue came before Slick before his second term and he vetoed it. I wrote to him about it and his letter came the day for the election. "Everybody has the right to vote" Especially if they were voting for him in 20 languages on a NY ballot.

#16, the drivers not speaking English is a hazard. There was a ghastly bus crash on the East Coast, and the driver (I think Chinese) couldn´t speak or read English.

Peter King (R-LI) has been trying to get English declared our language for years.

They are being told that the dreadful existence of slum life grew out of slavery and is being perpetuated by hatred. None of this is true. When a federal appeals court ruled last month that a seemingly arcane wording flaw in the Affordable Care Act should invalidate a central part of the law, many of those who drafted the statute five years ago reacted with shock and anger. Amid the hysteria over the shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., it might be lost that most black and white Americans believe they’re not out to get each other. A new Pew Research survey shows that 75 percent of whites and 64 percent of blacks say their groups get along together “pretty well” if not “very well.” It’s a bleaker view for Hispanics, 53 percent of whom say the same. Ferguson fell into the national media spotlight on Aug. 9 when Brown, who was unarmed and black,” was shot dead by Darren Wilson, a white police officer.
