Hillary Clinton’s woes continue
Washington Post, by Jennifer Rubin

Original Article

Recent events have not been kind to Hillary Clinton, but she is far from an innocent victim in what surely is one of the worst revival tours in memory. Hillary Clinton, still unwilling to acknowledge her and her boss’s failure to accurately assess the threats from al-Qaeda and the spread of jihaists into Libya, stubbornly insists we really don’t know why the jihadists attacked and killed our people. Oh, puhleez. While not a supporter of civilian trials for enemy combatants, I must admit there is something satisfying about the prosecution’s version of events laid out for all to see. One person´s snark is another person´s analysis. Jennifer Rubin is a northeastern version of a GOP conservative. Maybe not a Virginian´s cup of Tea Party.

However, she gets Hillary just right in this column. Hillary Clinton has difficulty dealing with doubters and that has been obvious on her book tour. We´re not going to crown another royalty wannabe. The country has, perhaps, learned from 2008.

Hillary created her own dilemma. She was obligated to push the obama administration "truth" that al Qaeda and all terrorism was on the wane when she and the rest of us knew that it was a political lie. Now she has to wiggle out from under four years of living that lie to exercise her ultimate ambition. She is failing because the truth is stronger than she is. Ain´t life sweet?

One has to ask, "Why would corporations and universities spend one quarter of a million dollars to hear Hillary Clinton speak?" Does anyone consider her to be even a moderately accomplished orator? No. Does she bring keen insight from her years of experience in guiding a company or governmental branch through challenging crises? Nope. The tone or timbre of her voice? No. The potential purchase of political favor? Aha.

Stats could be printed between her and her opponents like team heights and weights in a football or basketball program. What a hippo!

The influx of illegal immigrants into southern Texas is depleting law enforcement resources and causing heavy amounts of damage in the area, said several sheriffs gathered for the annual Sheriff’s Association of Texas convention. “The damage is constant,” Brooks County chief deputy Benny Martinez told News 4 San Antonio at the conference, held in San Antonio on Monday and Tuesday. Martinez estimated that 85 percent of cases he handles are related to immigration issues and that his rural county is not equipped to handle the workload. Let’s concede for a moment that most of us don’t believe the United States should be taking sides in conflicts abroad. Even so, most Americans would probably agree that at a minimum our diplomatic efforts should not cause unnecessary harm. Which brings me to Secretary of State John Kerry’s recent misadventure in the Middle East. It seems like a rather big deal that Egypt, Israel, Fatah, Jordan, Saudi Arabia—ostensibly, all allies of ours—agree on anything. This development, one imagines, might be something the United States would be interested in fostering rather than destroying. Certainly, the idea that Hamas’ power should be

In another five seats, Republican candidates remain competitive. The president is no longer energizing his unique coalition of voters. This year, they are staying home. Many people in Washington seem to be talking about the prospect of the president unilaterally legalizing the status of several million people who entered the country illegally as though it were just another political question. But if reports about the nature of the executive action he is contemplating are right, it would be by far the most blatant and explosive provocation in the administration’s assault on the separation of powers, and could well be the most extreme act of executive overreach ever attempted by an American president in peacetime. And that word is "competence". Obama was elected in 2008 on a stated promise that he would restore competence to government.
