Rep. Jim Bridenstine denied access

Washington Times, by Jessica Chasmar

Oklahoma Rep. Jim Bridenstine is asking what the Obama administration has to hide after he was denied access Monday to a Health and Human Services facility at Fort Sill currently housing up to 1,200 illegal immigrant children. “There is no excuse for denying a Federal Representative from Oklahoma access to a federal facility in Oklahoma where unaccompanied children are being held,” the Republican said in a press release. “After my visit today with the base commander, I approached the barracks where the children are housed,” he said. “A new fence has been erected by HHS, completely surrounding the barracks and covered

Comments:
Rep. Bridenstine was just on with Mark Levin and I remain stunned that he was denied access to this facility, as a member of Congress and the Armed Forces committee!!! We are truly living under tyranny, pure and simple. Will this wake up those fools in congress so they stand to to Obama?? It´s beyond anything I have ever seen!!!

Jim- I don´t understand. Why allow yourself to be turned away by some piddling HHS bureaucrat? Call that person before a House committee and find out where such an order originated. Don´t just walk away. Force the issue!

I´m stunned that a Member of Congress (and a Navy pilot) didn´t have the guts to challenge denial of his entry to a non-classified facility. Bridenstine should have gone Reagan on this "HHS official", demanding access and inviting the press while he walked into the facility as a mark of civil disobedience, and exercising the right of Congress to oversee the co-equal Executive Branch. No guts, no glory...not even a good show.

If I´m Jim Bridenstine, I walk into that facility and tell the powers that be that I WILL walk through the areas of concern with or without an escort.

In other words, I dare them to try and stop me.....

I agree with all of the above. You are a member of Congress. And you are being stopped by a bureaucrat? I would have gathered a busload of media, marched to the gate and demanded entrance. If denied, force the issue to the point of being arrested. Get it all on tape. Ask for a jury trial. Great PR.

This is ´La Bestia´ - or ´The Beast´ - which is perhaps the most treacherous train in the world. It is not built to carry passengers, but that doesn´t stop around 1,500 migrants piling on board the freight train´s roof. They are trying to reach the Mexico-U.S. border to start a new life in America. Most are refugees fleeing endemic violence in Central America. But they face a terrifying journey ahead of them. For years Mexico´s notorious drug gangs have been in control of the route, charging $100 (£64) or more for permission to mount the train. Threats, attacks and extortion continue en route

CNN is testing out a new show with Alisyn Camerota, Chris Cuomo and Don Lemon, POLITICO has learned. On Wednesday, the three anchors taped a pilot dubbed "The 10 o’clock Show,” based out of New York, network sources said. It´s not clear whether it would be a potential primetime 10 p.m. show. Segments included one on the border crisis with "Crossfire" host S.E. On Monday, CNN announced it had hired Camerota, who had previously been with Fox News for more

WASHINGTON – Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson expressed confidence that the federal government can successfully deal with the surge of unaccompanied children crossing the southern border but it likely will cost billions of dollars to deal with the ongoing crisis. In testifying before the Senate Appropriations Committee, Johnson urged lawmakers to adopt the $3.7 billion plan proposed by President Obama, warning that revenues are running low in the Department of Homeland Security because of outlays already used to address the situation. Without the supplemental funding, Johnson told lawmakers, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement will run out of money sometime in
