Hillary Syndrome Strikes ‘Abortion
Barbie’ Wendy Davis: Supporters
Can’t Name Single Accomplishment

Independent Journal Review, by Soopermexican

The Wendy Davis campaign is having a tough time convincing Texas voters that she would make a good governor, and the video above might be a good reason why – they couldn’t name a single legislative accomplishment of hers. They sound just like Hillary Clinton supporters! Liberals were infuriated when a conservative labeled Davis the “Abortion Barbie” for the way she was glamorously glorified after filibustering a Texas bill that would have raised medical standards at abortion clinics. Ironically, that’s the only thing a supporter mentions in the interviews, made outside the 2014 Texas Democrat Convention. Recent polls have Davis

But... but... she allowed herself to be catheterized so that she could filibuster a bill requiring sanitary facilities and hospital access for abortion clinics. Ingrates!

All she did was cost the taxpayers of Texas millions of dollars by temporarily stalling a bill that was guaranteed to pass and forcing Gov. Perry to have to call a special session of the legislature to get it passed.

She is a very stupid idealist that only wanted to make a "statement". A very, very expensive statements. But she is a Demon-RAT, and it wasn´t her money, so what did she care...

I wanted Wendy to suck up a lot more money that might now go to candidates that actually have a chance to win.

It is no secret that the Obama administration has demonstrated questionable commitment to the rule of law. It has undermined the separation of powers by disregarding congressional enactments while pushing executive power far beyond its constitutional boundaries. It has further undermined limited government by disregarding federalism and pushing Washington-knows-best legislation that far exceeds anything the Founding Fathers could have conceived. In recent years, a politicized Justice Department has refused to defend bipartisan legislation in court and resisted congressional oversight. Its practice of entering into extremely generous “settlements” with environmental and other liberal groups raises questions about whether the administration is welcoming

How to introduce students to conservative thought? It’s hard. The colleges and universities aren’t interested. The media and popular culture are hostile. What if young Americans nonetheless become aware of the existence of such a thing as conservative thought? How to convey its varieties and complexities? Even tougher. You can write articles and put things online, but there’s an awful lot competing for young people’s attention these days. But there’s good news nonetheless. Help has arrived. Its name? President Barack Obama. The decomposition of the Obama presidency has created what Obama might call a teachable moment. This is, needless to say,

Sam Nunn on Thursday condemned as “shameful” that TV spot from Republican U.S. Senate candidate David Perdue that accuses Michelle Nunn and the foundation for which she worked of giving money to terrorist-linked organizations. “It’s shameful. Particularly when you know that everybody in the opposition campaign knows that that’s not true,” her father, the longtime former U.S senator, said in an hour-long interview. “It’s not like they believe it. There’s too much these days of anything that works, regardless of what lines it crosses.” Michelle Nunn’s father also said his daughter, the Democratic nominee for Senate, has little obligation to

New evidence pried from the government under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) proves the point I have posited here at Ordered Liberty: The federal government willfully intervened on behalf of al Qaeda terrorist Anwar al-Awlaki on October 10, 2002, undoing his arrest on felony fraud charges when he was detained at JFK International Airport in New York, and allowing him to walk away with a Saudi handler. As I argued over two years ago, the government’s story to the contrary – viz., that it was moved by sheer coincidence on the eve of Awlaki’s arrival to pull the plug

Via the Standard, my mental image of Democratic incumbents and their strategists reacting to this clip is of Toht’s face melting off after the Ark is opened in “Raiders.” He’s saying this, mind you, on a day when Mitch McConnell’s Democratic opponent in Kentucky refused to answer a question about whether she voted for him in 2012. A study released a few days ago found that barely more than a third of the Democrats running for Congress this year have expressed support for ObamaCare. The GOP made more noise yesterday about the one-year anniversary of the federal O-Care exchange opening for

Most Americans don’t really care about contemporary political issues or the rudimentary workings of their government. But they sure do love voting. And the biggest fans of “democracy” treat this orgy of vacuous lever-pulling as if it were sacred or patriotic. It is neither. In 2013, President Barack Obama, who’s often argued that voting should be easier, issued an undemocratic Executive Order to create a commission to investigate how to expand participation in democracy. Here’s what the New York Times Editorial Board had to say about the ensuing report: A superb report released Wednesday by the Presidential Commission on Election Administration can

In a new book on the 1987 scandal that wrecked Gary Hart’s presidential chances, Matt Bai argues that the episode marks the moment when political reporting went tabloid. If Matt Bai becomes the instrument of redemption for former senator Gary Hart, best known as the central figure in a sex scandal that sank his front-running presidential campaign and provided endless fodder for the late-night comics, he’s probably just in time. Hart—who, according to Bai’s new book, All the Truth Is Out, has struggled to find a purpose in life since his descent into tabloid hell a quarter-century ago—turns 78 in November. It will

A nice catch from our friends at Grabien, who had to go all the way back to 2005 to find this nugget. At the time, the US prepared for a predicted epidemic of the avian flu, also known as H5N1, of global proportions. The virus had been identified for 18 years by that time, but by the end of 2004 had only resulted in 36 deaths and 50 known cases over the prior two years, according to WHO data. In 2005, the number of cases would jump to 98 and deaths to 43, and the prevention of a pandemic became

President Obama claims bad intelligence caused him to miss the threat from ISIS, but critics say he closed his ears to warnings. Could the same thing be happening when it comes to the threat from homegrown jihadis in America? On Tuesday, Alton Nolen was charged with first-degree murder in the gruesome beheading of a female worker at an Oklahoma food-processing plant. Prosecutors tie the killing to his recent suspension from the plant and discount any link to Islamic terrorism. For the FBI, too, it’s just a case of “workplace violence.” Yet, according to police, Nolen had become a fervent Islamic proselytizer. His Facebook page

There’s no wiggle room in Secret Service standard operation procedures for presidential visits: The security guard who pushed elevator buttons for President Obama and his entourage at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on September 16 should not have been allowed to carry a gun that day. The more the Secret Service investigates, the less of a threat the man, who has not been identified publicly, appears to be.

Pat Roberts is going to win in Kansas. A new USA Today/Suffolk University poll has his challenger, Greg Orman, beating him by five points, 46% to 41%. Here are five reasons that won’t happen: 1. President Barack Obama is widely disliked in Kansas. His approval rating is 33%, meaning that the overwhelming share of voters who turn out will vote Republican at the federal level. 2. Pat Roberts is a known quantity. He’s a well-known figure in the state. His approval ratings might have taken a beating of late, but Sen. President Barack Obama has taken a lot of flack since his Sunday night “60 Minutes” interview, in which he blamed the intelligence community for his failure to tackle the threat posed by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. And that is right and proper. Because not only was his excuse of blaming us a lie, but when questioned on his lie, White House press secretary Josh Earnest doubled down with a whole new lie — both of which are easily, publicly proven false. On Sunday, Obama said the intelligence community had underestimated the rise of ISIS, saying in an interview

Former President Jimmy Carter claimed Wednesday that he would have been re-elected and beaten Ronald Reagan in 1980 if had been more “manly” in his dealings with Iran. Interviewed by the show "CNBC Meets," Carter repeated his belief that the failed mission to free American hostages held in Tehran killed his chances, but then added that had he gone to war, America would have rewarded him with a second term in 1980.

My story about the president talking to the black caucus about white people inflicting constant racial injustice on black people came in at 1500 words. I was just getting warmed up. I thought it strange that at the same time the president was trying to persuade us that black people are relentless victims, black people were committing acts of racial violence in places like Seattle, Miami, Indianapolis, Bronx, Ferguson, Kansas City, Providence, Minneapolis and 18 miles from where

The Obama administration found itself scrambling on Tuesday to defend President Barack Obama for his lackluster 42% attendance record on daily intelligence briefings, a finding from a new report issued by the non-partisan Government Accountability Institute (GAI). When asked about the GAI revelation on Fox News, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki appeared flustered and unprepared. "Well, I have no validation of those statistics," said Psaki. "There are a range of ways that you can get your intelligence briefings on the road, in the White House, and I know that he receives those whenever he can."

The quintessential question of Watergate was “what did the President know and when did he know it?” Obamagate, the vast scandal that encompasses an entire presidency, offers a preemptive answer. Obama didn’t know anything and he never knew it. At least not until, like smuggling weapons to druglords, bugging journalists, IRSing his political enemies and killing vets, his right hand found out about what his left hand was doing from the morning paper. After skipping 58% of his daily intelligence briefings in Term 1 and 59% of them in Term 2, he went on 60 Minutes and blamed intelligence agencies for being

Kansas Tea Party supporters are threatening to sit out the state’s pivotal Senate election, potentially dealing another blow to the reelection hopes of Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.). President Obama this week committed professional suicide. Let me explain. There is a theory in politics that once a leader has fired 50 or more people from his or her administration, he or she is finished. The reason being that by creating so many enemies ‘outside the tent’, the tent itself becomes too deluged with poisonous bile to avoid sinking into a quagmire of back-stabbing ignominy. Obama went a lot further than firing 50 people. He managed to single-handedly alienate 200,000 employees in the American intelligence agencies by going on 60 Minutes and ruthlessly chucking them all under a bus

The driving issue of the 2016 election will be “competence,” and if former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush runs, “he’s got a real shot” at winning, the Ohio Republican told the Cincinnati Enquirer on Tuesday. Boehner applauded Bush’s ability to “talk about Republican issues better than most anybody that we’ve got out there,” approving of his “real record of reform” as Florida’s governor from 1999 to 2007. HOUSTON, Texas -- Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay was found not guilty today by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. This is the highest appellate court in Texas for criminal cases and thus brings DeLay’s political persecution to an end. The court upheld the ruling last year from the Texas 3rd Court of Appeals. That decision tossed out the convictions on money laundering and conspiracy charges. At that time Justice Melissa Goodwin wrote “The fundamental problem with the state´s case was its failure to prove proceeds of criminal activity,” according to a September 19th report on Breitbart News.
