Hillary Syndrome Strikes ‘Abortion

Independent Journal Review, by Soopermexican

The Wendy Davis campaign is having a tough time convincing Texas voters that she would make a good governor, and the video above might be a good reason why – they couldn’t name a single legislative accomplishment of hers. They sound just like Hillary Clinton supporters! Liberals were infuriated when a conservative labeled Davis the “Abortion Barbie” for the way she was glamorously glorified after filibustering a Texas bill that would have raised medical standards at abortion clinics. Ironically, that’s the only thing a supporter mentions in the interviews, made outside the 2014 Texas Democrat Convention. Recent polls have Davis

But... but... she allowed herself to be catheterized so that she could filibuster a bill requiring sanitary facilities and hospital access for abortion clinics. Ingrates!

All she did was cost the taxpayers of Texas millions of dollars by temporarily stalling a bill that was guaranteed to pass and forcing Gov. Perry to have to call a special session of the legislature to get it passed.

She is a very stupid idealist that only wanted to make a "statement". A very, very expensive statements. But she is a Demon-RAT, and it wasn´t her money, so what did she care...

I wanted Wendy to suck up a lot more money that might now go to candidates that actually have a chance to win.

I was 25 in the summer of 1996 when I landed a job as a personal assistant to Joel and Ethan Coen. Their sixth movie, Fargo, had come out to rave reviews and good box office that March. Now, they were headed from New York, where they lived, to L.A. to film their next movie, The Big Lebowski. I’d worked on three movies as an apprentice film editor,

As of now, the two sides in the Gaza war are observing the 12-hour humanitarian cease fire arranged to get aid to civilians in the combat zones, and Israel at least is leaning toward adding another four hours to it. Little other progress has been made in ending the fight, however. The Associated Press report from Gaza notes the tensions, but at least thus far neither side has attacked the other during the lull:(Snip for video)As noted, Kerry failed to negotiate a truce, and the Times of Israel reports why. President Obama has emotionally checked out of his job a couple of years early, it seems. How can one tell? Candidates for president who brazenly assume they are the inevitable victor are sometimes accused of “measuring the drapes” for the White House. Obama, conversely, seems to be prematurely packing his bags in hopes for an early departure. ust last week, for example, the Los Angeles Times reported that “The First Family is believed to be in escrow on a contemporary home in a gated community where entertainers Frank Sinatra, Bob Hope and Bing Crosby once maintained estates”.

As with many of America's great fortunes, the Stroh family’s story starts with an immigrant: Bernhard Stroh, who arrived in Detroit from Germany in 1850 with $150 and a coveted family recipe for beer. He sold his brews door-to-door in a wheelbarrow. By 1890 his sons, Julius and Bernhard Jr., were shipping beer around the Great Lakes. Julius got the family through Prohibition by switching the brewery to ice cream and malt syrup production. And in the 1980s Stroh’s surged, emerging as one of America’s fastest-growing companies and the country’s third-largest brewing empire, behind only public behemoths Anheuser-Busch and

To Save Gaza, Destroy Hamas

Tel Aviv - After nearly three weeks of fighting — notwithstanding the 12-hour pause announced early this morning by Israel — it is time to revisit some basic assumptions about Hamas. Until now, Israel assumed Hamas was the “devil we know,” capable of attacks that were mostly a nuisance; accepting its rule over the Gaza Strip was preferable to risking a vacuum of governance like what we see in Somalia and Libya. But Hamas’s reckless violence in the current round of fighting severely undermined this thinking. First, Hamas has proved a bad ruler. By placing many of its military assets — tunnels to infiltrate Israel, bunkers for its

That means that Gaza-West Bank is listed way down on the list at 172 in the list of nations per capita income. On the other hand, Israel is ranked number 41 on the list with an average per capita income of $31,400 per year. But, not everyone is suffering in Gaza. Many top Hamas leaders are billionaires and millionaires. The Globes reported: Together with the donations from various countries, fundraisers began operating in

If you want to know which individual political race has the biggest stakes in 2014, look no further than the Land of Lincoln. The Illinois governor’s race pits incumbent Pat Quinn, a Democrat, against upstart non-politician Bruce Rauner. Why are the stakes so huge? Because Illinois is arguably the worst-run state in America. It’s a blue state that has been run for many years by corrupt and bungling politicians, including Rod Blagojevich, who went to jail for trying to sell a U.S. Senate seat, and Mr. Quinn, who has run the state’s finances into the gutter. This year shows no improvement. Even as the national employment picture has

Divorce is always tragic, especially when a couple was married as long as Michael Moore and his now-ex-wife, Kathleen Glynn. Glynn was a partner in film too, producing many of Moore’s best-known works, from “Sicko” to “Capitalism: A Love Story.” The marriage was officially ended this week. But in the process of securing their divorce, Moore and Glynn’s filings have again confirmed that the filmmaker who styles himself a champion of the working class has wealth that would be the envy of many a Wall Street banker. For all his proletarian pretenses, Moore is worth nearly $50 million, and doesn’t seem to mind owning all this

Slandered, despised, insulted, degraded, Israel is nonetheless winning its war against Hamas. The number of rocket attacks launched by the terror group each day has been halved. The IDF is uprooting the underground tunnels Hamas uses to smuggle weapons, contraband, and terrorists in and out of the Gaza Strip. On Wednesday evening, Israel’s Channel Two newscast carried footage of Hamas terrorists surrendering to the IDF. The jihadists carried white flags. They stripped to their shorts, proving they were not wearing suicide belts. These are facts Hamas does not want you to know, images Hamas does not want you to see.

President Obama insists on flirting with impeachment even as House Republican leaders insist there’s no such possibility. Obama uses a passive-aggressive strategy that can be judged as a political maneuver, a personality disorder, or both. Secure in the knowledge that impeachment is not the same as removal from office, Mr. Obama brings up the topic on his own and with bold defiance. Martyrdom goes well with a Messiah complex and Mr. Obama’s speeches are a non-stop litany of depicting himself as a victim of Republicans. The president’s demeanor is worrying a lot of people. From the immigration crisis on the Mexican border to the Islamic State rising in Mesopotamia, Barack Obama seems totally detached from the world’s convulsions. When he does interrupt his endless rounds of golf, fundraising and photo ops, it’s for some affectless, mechanical, almost forced public statement. Regarding Ukraine, his detachment — the rote, impassive voice — borders on dissociation. His U.N. ambassador, Samantha Power, delivers an impassioned denunciation of Russia. The IDF has not yet located and destroyed all of Hamas´ terror tunnels, but the consensus about the intent behind them is quite clear. Ismail Haniyeh, the Hamas prime minister, delivered a revealing speech on March 23, 2014, in which he stressed the strategic importance of the Hamas attack tunnels, which, he argued, have changed the balance of power with Israel, when taken together with his organization’s military build-up. In the meantime, the IDF’s war against the tunnels continues. On Monday IDF forces thwarted another terror attack after two groups of Hamas

Death-penalty opponents say the execution of an Arizona inmate who took two hours to die shows that state experiments with different drugs and dosages are a callous trial-and-error process.
