Quote of the Week: Michelle
Obama and crack pies

Washington Post, by Colby Itkowitz

It’s only Tuesday, but folks we have this week’s Loop Quote of the Week Winner sealed. At a White House reception for LGBT Pride Month, President Obama was praising outgoing executive pastry chef Bill Yosses for his ever so sweet baking skills. Then the president suggested that perhaps Yosses’ pies were so addicting because of a secret ingredient. “I don’t know what he does, whether he puts crack in them, or…,” Obama said. The first lady shot her husband a look, laughed, pursed her lips and shook her head with almost an eye roll. “No, he doesn’t,” she said, head

This video of them, wow, I was literally stunned. This was the closest we have seen (IMHO) of the REAL Barack and Obama. These politicians are play actors at the highest level, rarely do they put down even 30 seconds of guard so the real people show through. Well, we just saw it. EVEN Michelle seemed like she could not wrap her brain around what her husband actually said to the whole world.

It should be obvious to everyone by now that the Democrats are far into a post-American, pro-Internationalist phase. Every day, in every way possible they seek to delegitimize America and American values.

What´s a war without a code name?

When the U.S. military strikes, its leaders often choose colorful code names for the operation that sometimes stick in history, like Operation Overlord or Rolling Thunder or Desert Storm. Not this time. The U.S.-led air campaign against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria doesn´t have a name. "I know of no plans at this point to name it," Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm. John Kirby said Thursday. Since World War II, almost every U.S. military operation, large and small, has had a code name. And that name usually sticks when veterans talk about the conflicts in which they participated, such

Months after statewide voter turnout hit a historic low of 25% in this year´s primary election, Gov. Jerry Brown on Friday signed eight bills aimed at getting more Californians to participate in the political process. He also signed dozens of other bills Friday — a hodgepodge that included new rights for gay and transgender Californians, a requirement that state prisons expand the availability of condoms to inmates and measures that promote the "farm to fork" movement to increase consumer access to fresh food. The voting-related measures will allow absentee ballots mailed on election day to be counted as long as

Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton’s international foundation, in the spotlight this month for hosting the annual Clinton Global Initiative in New York, back two groups that operate a massive international abortion business, including one that heralded its 4,000 abortions in a 2013 annual report. Clinton Foundation documents show that it supports two groups that provide abortion services and supplies in Africa, India and Asia — Pathfinder International and Population Services International. Oklahoma got a dose of peace yesterday, when Alton Nolen, apparently a Muslim convert, beheaded a co-worker at the food company where he worked. He attacked a second woman and would have killed her too, except that the company’s COO has a gun and knows how to use it. This could actually be a case of workplace violence, as the attack occurred immediately after Alton had been fired. (For what, has not been reported.) Nolen had a colorful criminal record, which makes one wonder how he got a job at all when millions are unemployed. Paul has written about the

Eric Holder´s resignation as attorney general, like anything that occurs in the Obama administration, raises questions of timing. Even though Republicans may take back the Senate by running against amnesty, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush pushed amnesty legislation while stumping for North Carolina Republican Senate candidate Thom Tillis on Wednesday. And even though a recent Gallup poll found that illegal immigration is now the top concern among Republicans, Bush said that if immigration reform is "framed in that way, I don’t think there’s a big debate in the Republican Party about the need to do this."

Of all the malfeasances of William Jefferson Clinton the one that would have most justified a removal from office was not the Monica hijinks, even with the attendant lying under oath and absurd parsings of the word “is,” but the pardoning of Marc Rich — the billionaire international commodities trader and mammoth contributor to, er, Clinton.
