An arrest was made in London on Wednesday in connection with suspected terrorism in Syria, the Metropolitan Police Service said. Police arrested a 32-year-old man at a home in west London. The suspect has not been identified, but police said he faces charges including fraud by false representation and arranging funding for the purpose of terrorism. The arrest comes during an ongoing investigation into "suspected terrorist activity in Syria," police said. Comments:
Expect more of this (domestic terrorism) in the days ahead here as 0bama welcomes all future "voters´ escaping Syria or Middle East for "political" reasons. (Their Al Qaeda terrorist rebels lost to a more tougher brand). I trust our spy agencies & Homeland Security will root them out AFTER they strike US.

Fat Camps Offer Pudgy Pets
´Pawlates´ to Slim Down

Los Angeles - It’s not just a people problem: Growing rates of obesity in pets have led to the emergence of fat farms offering ‘‘pawlates,’’ ‘´doga’’ and ‘‘Barko Polo,’’ doggie versions of Pilates, yoga and Marco Polo to help slim down man’s best friend. In the U.S., 53 percent of dogs are overweight or obese, up from 45 percent four years ago. In cats, the figure is almost 58 percent, said Dr. Ernie Ward, a veterinarian and founder of the Association of Pet Obesity Prevention in Calabash, North Carolina. Overweight pets can suffer diabetes, joint problems, heart disease and decreased life expectancy, just like obese people, he said.

Burger King in San Francisco

A Burger King in San Francisco has taken its support of LGBT pride week to a new level and released a special sandwich — the Proud Whopper. Burger King is already on record as supporting gay marriage, issuing in the past a “Be Your Way” slogan that played off its popular “Have it Your Way” message. But the specialty sandwich is a new thumbs-up campaign for gays, Time reported. The Proud Whopper is no different in taste, texture or ingredient than the regular Whopper — the message the chain is hoping to convey. The Proud Whopper wrapper reads, once opened, “We are all the same inside.”

Cyberbullies get First Amendment

Bullies hiding behind computer screens now have the First Amendment to protect them. The state’s highest court on Tuesday struck down an Albany County law that criminalized cyberbullying, crimping government efforts to crack down on electronic harassment. In a 5-2 ruling, the Court of Appeals ruled that the local law was “overbroad” and trampled free-speech rights of online tormentors. “Although the First Amendment may not give defendant the right to engage in these activities, the text of Albany County’s law envelops far more than acts of cyberbullying against children by criminalizing a variety of constitutionally protected modes of

Texas Gov. Rick Perry said Wednesday that President Barack Obama must visit the Texas southern border to see the immigration crisis for himself. “If he doesn’t come to the border, I think it’s a real reflection of his lack of concern of what’s really going on there,” Perry said on FOX News’ “FOX and Friends,” noting that Obama is planning to be in Texas next week for fundraisers. “If the President of the United States is really serious about securing that border, we can show him how to do that,” Perry added. “But I haven’t even had a phone call from this president.” Obama is scheduled to be in Austin and Dallas on Wednesday and Thursday for

White House advisers lays out scenarios

President Obama promises that the U.S. troops he’s sending to Iraq won’t get into another shooting war, but a top White House adviser has listed several scenarios that would prompt direct military action against Islamic militants. Ben Rhodes, a deputy national security adviser to the president, said the U.S. “has a role to play in a number of different ways” that could result in military engagements in Iraq. The government in Baghdad is fighting militants loyal to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), and Mr. Obama has sent nearly 500 U.S. troops to protect the U.S. embassy and the airport in Baghdad, and to serve as military advisers.

Chechen fighter emerges as

Beirut - A young, red-bearded ethnic Chechen has rapidly become one of the most prominent commanders in the breakaway Al Qaeda group that has overrun swaths of Iraq and Syria, illustrating the international nature of the movement. Omar al-Shishani, one of hundreds of Chechens who have been among the toughest jihadi fighters in Syria, has emerged as the face of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, appearing frequently in its online videos — in contrast to the group´s Iraqi leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, who remains deep in hiding and has hardly ever been photographed. It is not yet clear why two Iraqi army divisions entrusted with the defence of Mosul collapsed so suddenly and so abjectly two weeks ago. But a likely key factor in the astonishing success of the Isis invasion force, which apparently numbered less than 2000 men, was the failure of the US-led Coalition to provide Iraq with even a primitive air force. (Snip) The Isis fighters who came in from Syria did so by road, in pickup trucks, in a long convoy. Although some Isis trucks carried light anti-aircraft guns, their entire force was extremely vulnerable. An as yet unsubstantiated report in several news outlets says that three young people, possibly Jews, abducted an Arab youth in Jerusalem, and that the burnt body of an Arab youth was later found in the Jeusalem Forest area. There is speculation that the two events are connected and that the youth was abducted and murdered. Additional speculation says that he was murdered by Jews as a possible act of revenge after the kidnapping murder of three Jewish teens. Large police forces are reportedly combing the area where the body was discovered and hundreds of Arabs from Shuafat are protesting. According to the reports, the burnt body of an

She’ll take over as the vice chief of naval operations, the No. 2 officer in the service. She is not only the first woman to hold the job, but the first African-American. Megyn Kelly faced off with former Weather Underground leader Bill Ayers in an explosive interview tonight in which Kelly repeatedly confronted Ayers about bombings and killings that the radical group was reportedly involved in. Kelly asked Ayers how many bombings he was personally responsible for. Ayers declined to answer, but did acknowledge the “terrible risk” they took with some of their more out-there tactics. Kelly grilled him on how the Weather Underground “declared a state of war against the U.S. government” and encouraged violence. Kelly went through a series of instances in which the Weather Underground was tied to bombings and killings,

A government-contracted security force threatened to arrest doctors and nurses if they divulged any information about the contagion threat at a refugee camp housing illegal alien children at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, sources say. In spite of the threat, several former camp workers broke their confidentiality agreements and shared exclusive details with me about the dangerous conditions at the camp. They said taxpayers deserve to know about the contagious diseases and the risks the children pose to Americans. I have agreed to not to disclose their identities because they fear retaliation and prosecution.

Today, the Supreme Court ruled in the nationally followed Hobby Lobby case. The for-profit corporations that brought these cases to the Supreme Court—a craft store and a cabinet manufacturer—argued that the corporations’ religious convictions should excuse them from compensating their employees through the comprehensive health insurance required by law. Specifically, these private employers sought to exclude insurance coverage of several forms of birth control because, contrary to medical and scientific evidence, the corporations’ owners believe some birth control causes abortions. The Affordable Care Act already includes special arrangements for houses of worship and religious non-profits, like schools and hospitals. Houses

A crowd of 300 angry protestors forced three buses carrying 140 undocumented migrant children and their parents to turn around in Murrieta, California, on Tuesday after they blocked the road. The dramatic confrontation between the flag waving protestors and the Homeland Security buses came one day after Mayor Alan Long urged residents to resist the federal government´s plan to transfer the Central American migrants to California to ease overcrowding of facilities along the Texas-Mexico border. Holding up banners that said ´Return to Sender´ and suggesting the children should be sent to the White House instead, the irate protestors succeeded when the buses

One week after traveling to Mississippi to do his utmost to help Senator Thad Cochran (R) beat Tea Party rival Chris McDaniel, Senator John McCain (R-AZ) talked about the strengths he saw in Cochran´s approach to campaigning. According to AZ Central, McCain dismissed criticism over the tactics the Republican Establishment used to get black Democrats to cross over and vote for Cochran. Said McCain, "There are some people complaining that African-American voters voted. [But] I thought one of the major priorities of the Republican Party was to get all minority and ethnic voters out to vote for Republicans." He described Cochran´s "get-out-the-vote campaign"

The Israeli Air Force carried out what it called "precision strikes" on 34 "terror targets" in the Gaza Strip overnight, after the discovery of the bodies of three Israeli teenagers who were kidnapped in the West Bank earlier this month. The Israeli Defense Forces said the strikes were in response to rockets being launched earlier into Israel from Gaza. The waves of rockets from Gaza and IDF retaliations have picked up since the teens were kidnapped and the Israeli crackdown began. Hamas has not claimed responsibility for launching the rockets but Israel holds them responsible for everything coming out of Gaza. The Israel Defense

The public largely blames President Obama for the flood of children who have poured over the border in recent weeks, creating a growing humanitarian crisis, according to the latest IBD/TIPP Poll released Monday. The late June survey found that the public largely blames Obama policies for the crisis in Iraq and believes the lost IRS emails are an administration effort to cover up wrongdoing at the agency. The poll found that 59% of those closely following the immigration crisis agree that "current administration policies and lack of focus on securing the border" are behind the human tide of illegal crossings. The president said his administration would ´refocus´ its efforts on the border, and he would use his ´existing legal authority´ to do ´what Congress refuses to do´ and fix the broken immigration system.
