Coal company uses glitch to swing
for the fences against EPA rule

Washington Examiner, by Zack Colman

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 7/1/2014 9:02:50 PM

A large coal company´s petition against the Environmental Protection Agency´s proposed emissions rule for power plants is a legal swing for the fences, but a decades-old discrepancy in a technical amendment to the Clean Air Act might give it a chance, according to experts. Separate House and Senate versions of the act, which was last amended in 1990, were never reconciled and therefore lead to different interpretations. Murray Energy Corp., which filed the petition June 18 in the D.C. Circuit Court, is hewing to the House version in claiming the EPA has overstepped its authority. At issue is a "conforming amendment" used

Comments:
I am so glad to see this! Mr. Murray was on Cavuto´s show a week or so ago and he just blistered Obama. He raged about him being anti-American, destroying this country, causing energy to skyrocket, etc. All of which we agree with. I hope he is successful in his fight, because that´s exactly what he said he was going to do. I truly don´t know how people will survive in the winter if this criminal regime makes so many coal plants shut down.

You know, I question the voters in West Virginia who voted for a Democratic Senator Manchin who was supposedly expected to protect their coal mining jobs. Well, he´s a demoncrat.....he voted along with the rest of the demonrats for Obamacare which is what is destroying the economy. So then, how has your stupid votes for the demonrats helped you now?

Wednesday at the White House daily briefing, CBS White House correspondent Major Garrett slammed White House press secretary Josh Earnest over the "optics" of President Barack Obama refusing to go to the U.S.-Mexico border in light of the humanitarian crisis of thousands of unaccompanied minors flooding across the border. "With this on going humanitarian crisis and significant policy issue that is alarming people not only in Texas but obviously now places where you are trying to take these unaccompanied kids are you comfortable with the optics of the president going to fundraisers only and not taking an eyeball look himself

The San Francisco Chronicle has blamed Breitbart News for drawing the national media´s attention to the crisis of unaccompanied minors from Central America crossing the southern border by the tens of thousands. In an op-ed published by the Chronicle Wednesday calling for "a more humane immigration policy," David Bacon blamed Breitbart´s exposé for creating the impression that children were being sent to the U.S. in anticipation of being allowed to stay. Bacon correctly noted that Breitbart News broke the story of the conditions in which the children were being held by U.S. Border Patrol, and singled out Brandon Darby of

Despite an invitation from Texas Gov. Rick Perry, President Obama still has no immediate plans to visit the southwest border amid a crisis-level influx of illegal immigrant children and family units. White House Press Sec. Josh Earnest said Wednesday that, to date, Obama does not have plans to visit the border. “That’s the continued plan,” Earnest said when asked if Obama still has no plans to go to the border. He did, however, leave the door open for a change in scheduling. “[S]chedules sometimes change, and if they do we’ll let you know. But right now there is no plan to visit the border

Oklahoma Rep. Jim Bridenstine is asking what the Obama administration has to hide after he was denied access Monday to a Health and Human Services facility at Fort Sill currently housing up to 1,200 illegal immigrant children. “There is no excuse for denying a Federal Representative from Oklahoma access to a federal facility in Oklahoma where unaccompanied children are being held,” the Republican said in a press release. “After my visit today with the base commander, I approached the barracks where the children are housed,” he said. “A new fence has been erected by HHS, completely surrounding the barracks and covered

Liberal groups and congressional Democrats are moving forward with plans to reform the Religious Freedom Restoration Act in the wake of the Supreme Court´s ruling Monday in Burwell v. Hobby Lobby. Originally passed in 1993 with overwhelming bipartisan support, the law — on which the case was decided — forbids government from imposing significant burdens on a person’s religious convictions, unless that burden is in furtherance of a compelling government interest and pursued by the least restrictive means possible. Some Democratic lawmakers who supported the bill in 1993 issued statements Monday condemning the Supreme Court´s interpretation. Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y.,

If things were bad between Tea Party activists and the Mississippi Republican establishment before last Tuesday´s Senate primary runoff, it´s about to get a lot uglier. State Senator Chris McDaniel defeated Sen. Thad Cochran in the first round of the Senate GOP primary but then the aging incumbent staged an unexpected surge to win the run-off. Cochran´s surge was fueled by cross-over Democrats voting in the GOP run-off and before the votes were all counted, rumors were rife about walk-around money and other voting irregularities. It involves a Green Bay Wisconsin metal and plastic manufacturer that fired a group of Hmong and Hispanic workers over their English skills, “even though those skills were not needed to perform their jobs,” according to the feds. More importantly, forcing employees to speak English in the U.S. violates Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, says the Obama administration. Republicans are now warning that EPA water rules could threaten fireworks by allowing environmental activists to sue and shut down shows across the country.

A government-contracted security force threatened to arrest doctors and nurses if they divulged any information about the contagion threat at a refugee camp housing illegal alien children at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, sources say. In spite of the threat, several former camp workers broke their confidentiality agreements and shared exclusive details with me about the dangerous conditions at the camp. They said taxpayers deserve to know about the contagious diseases and the risks the children pose to Americans. I have agreed to not to disclose their identities because they fear retaliation and prosecution.

Kelly grilled him on how the Weather Underground “declared a state of war against the U.S. government” and encouraged violence. Kelly went through a series of instances in which the Weather Underground was tied to bombings and killings,

Today, the Supreme Court ruled in the nationally followed Hobby Lobby case. The for-profit corporations that brought these cases to the Supreme Court—a craft store and a cabinet manufacturer—argued that the corporations’ religious convictions should excuse them from compensating their employees through the comprehensive health insurance required by law. Specifically, these private employers sought to exclude insurance coverage of several forms of birth control because, contrary to medical and scientific evidence, the corporations’ owners believe some birth control causes abortions. The Affordable Care Act already includes special arrangements for houses of worship and religious non-profits, like schools and hospitals. Houses

According to AZ Central, McCain dismissed criticism over the tactics the Republican Establishment used to get black Democrats to cross over and vote for Cochran. Said McCain, "There are some people complaining that African-American voters voted. The Israeli Defense Forces said the strikes were in response to rockets being launched earlier into Israel from Gaza. The waves of rockets from Gaza and IDF retaliations have picked up since the teens were kidnapped and the Israeli crackdown began. Hamas has not claimed responsibility for launching the rockets but Israel holds them responsible for everything coming out of Gaza. The Israel Defense
