Cochran campaign denies

Clarion-Ledger [Jackson, MS], by Geoff Pender

The U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran campaign is denying reports from a conservative blogger that it was trying to buy votes in Lauderdale County. Blogger Charles C. Johnson of GotNews.com is reporting that Stevie Fielder says the Cochran campaign told him to offer black voters in the Meridian area $15 each to vote for Cochran in the June 24 GOP primary runoff against Chris McDaniel. Cochran campaign spokesman Jordan Russell called the accusations of illegal vote buying "baseless and false." "It comes from a blogger who in the last 24 hours has accused a Mississippi public official of being responsible for an individual´s death

What a shame if true that the Grand Old Party RINOs would engage in the well-used lib practice of spreading around "walking around money"...

Time for cleaning house of the GOP....we need to get back to the basics of conservative principals and quit trying to pandering like the other party does.

What is even more shameful is making up lies like the "tea party candidate" would cut the school children off their free and reduced priced lunches, preventing blacks from voting and the like.

To play on the ignorant like that is the worst of it. To deceive people like that is beyond the pale and truly lacking in moral integrity.

My goodness, such a large dossier in just a few hours after the story broke. What or who will explain the text messages Fielder had on his cell phone from Saleem Braid?

The FBI in Jackson already has the information. Are they loyal Cochran supporters or do they hold themselves above the sleaze?

The story has a lot of facts.
The campaign pays people $ 25 in the am and
another $ 25 in the afternoon to knock on doors
and distribute literature.
Anything they pay has to be reported to the FEC , that´s why they wanted addresses.
They pay in cash .
The " minister " is a not a real member of the clergy.
He is self proclaimed and apparently a local nut with a terrible reputation.
He tries to attach himself to every local campaign and is no longer responding to media inquiries.
Apparently , he only talks for money.
He was going to be paid $ 600 for gas and his time to drive voters to the polls, but, he failed to follow through.
And was only paid $ 300.
The Cochran campaign is considering suing
the " minister " and the blogger for defamation.
The blogger apparently tried to buy the photos of Rose Cochran in the nursing home from those associated with the McDaniel campaign.
He sounds like another sleazy character .

Ol´ Thad sure acts like a Democrat.

Speaking of buying votes, I remember when Robert Caro published one of his first volumes on LBJ.

He told a story about how LBJ, in the 30´s, was on the west side of San Antonio on election day, paying $5 for each Mexican´s vote.

One of LBJ´s contemporaries, who was still alive at the time the book was published, called the story a lie. I think his quote was something like, "LBJ would never pay more than a dollar for a Mexican vote."

I remember reading a report leading up to the runoff that the establishment GOP had given $175,000 for walking around money. This was before the vote even took place. I believed it then, and I think they are all lying now that they have been caught. The establishment GOP was determined to win at ANY cost.

The U.S. government not only failed to prosecute an illegal alien who stole the identity of his dead baby son—who had collected SSI before he died—but granted the father legal status to work in the United States. This one-time illegal alien, the Office of Inspector General for the Social Security Administration believes, fraudulently used his son’s Social Security Number for at least three years. Yet, he was not prosecuted, according to the IG’s office, because his case did not meet the prosecutorial guidelines of the U.S. attorney for New Jersey. In fact, this case might never have come to light had the IG

HOUSTON, Texas--While the Obama Administration has largely expressed surprise at the sharp increase in illegal immigrants from Central America this year, the Health and Human Services (HHS) budget for processing unaccompanied foreign minors has exploded in recent years, raising questions about whether the administration could have foreseen, or did foresee, the crisis. After being apprehended by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, many illegal immigrants are then put into the custody of HHS where they receive a myriad of taxpayer-subsidized benefits including housing, food, vocational training, education, and even legal

FALFURRIAS, Texas – Far from the crisis along the border with Mexico in the Rio Grande Valley, the checkpoint here exists to deter those who made it this far but want to get away. To an American — let’s say a young white man– the three-lane checkpoint some 70 miles from the border seems far from threatening. A Border Patrol agent asks if you’re a U.S. citizen. Answer correctly, and he lets you through. But for illegal immigrants who want to elude capture, the Falfurrias checkpoint, with drug-sniffing dogs looming, is the likely end of the journey. The most significant recent development in these situations was the announcement of new sanctions on Russia shortly before the president spoke. Obama described those
