Chamber of Commerce: ´We Will

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce will not take no for an answer on amnesty legislation. After President Barack Obama said he would try to unilaterally change as many of the nation´s immigration laws as possible on Monday because House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) informed him there would not be a vote on an immigration bill in the House this year, U.S. Chamber of Commerce CEO Tim Donohue vowed to keep pushing for a bill. "We will not let up," Donohue said in a statement on Monday. Donohue said the "U.S. Chamber is deeply disappointed by our elected leaders´ inability to achieve meaningful immigration

Well, if the ol´ Chamber of Commerce is willing to burden our communities with the social costs associated with their quest for cheap labor, I´ve got an alternative suggestion.

Why don´t we just tax the hell out of Chamber of Commerce members and use the funds to supplement their illegal immigrant wages for "real Americans" can afford to work for them? Put the financial burden on the ones seeking the benefits.

If for the sake of argument borders could be legitimately secured, the issue of those who have taken advantage of undocumented workers remains. Tucked inside the Rove/Schumer crafted immigration bill is amnesty for employers who have employed illegals. That cannot happen. A guy coming here to raise the standard of living for he and his family by pursuing honest work is one thing we have to wrestle with. No mercy for the guy who exploited cheap labor in violation of the law and wants no consequences. And that would be the Chamber of Commerce.

No Amnesty for the Employers.

Yes I know, one or a few would be no worse than a mosquito bite. If a few million did it and businesses, especially small businesses, started losing money things would change. Remember, if we can rally around for Chic-Fil-A, or Papa John´s Pizza, then why can we make some business hurt?

If the House makes any changes whatsoever to the immigration bill that blew up and died before Speaker John Boehner tried to bring it back to life—and then votes on those changes on Thursday evening or on Friday—it would be a violation of Boehner’s own 72-hour rule. “I proposed a 72-hour minimum time for members to read bills,” Boehner said as House minority leader on May 14, 2009. “I think it’s important that members do have a chance.” "Americans not only expect lawmakers to know what they’re voting on, they deserve to know what’s in these bills as well,” Boehner added on

On Thursday, the House GOP imploded over its border bill to solve the child-migrant crisis, pulling the legislation from the floor for lack of votes. And there, standing among the legislative wreckage, stood the proud senator from Texas, Ted Cruz. Not literally, of course. But the tea party Texan is once again smack in the middle of a House Republican debacle. With a reach as wide as his state, the freshman senator has his arm around conservative House Republicans. He has been lobbying them over Chick-fil-A and pizza to change the House bill “to end Obama’s amnesty.” By that he
