Justice Ginsburg’s Eight Worst
Lines on Hobby Lobby

National Review, by Ramesh Ponnuru

Mother Jones’s list of the “eight best lines” from her dissent seems to be pretty popular on the Left, judging from social media. They may indeed be her best lines, but they’re not very good. Others (such as Jonathan Keim) have already tackled some of them, but here they are in the same order MJ presents them. (snip)3) ”Religious organizations exist to foster the interests of persons subscribing to the same religious faith. Not so of for-profit corporations. Workers who sustain the operations of those corporations commonly are not drawn from one religious community.” This claim is obviously false. Many,

Even at the HL hearing - when I read the transcript, I wondered if she had any idea of what actually is the issue and what free exercise of religion means. After reading her opinion - I still wonder.

I just pray she keeps breathing and stays on the bench until our "Constitutional Law Professor" president is out of office.
As bad as Ginsburg is, 0bama will find a replacement appointee even worse who could be there a very long time.

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) indicated today that if President Barack Obama takes actions that exceed his constitutional authority, the House of Representatives has no plans to use its own constitutional authority to withhold funding from those actions. At his weekly press briefing, CNSNews.com asked Boehner: “You’ve said you disagree with calls to impeach the president over abuse of power via executive actions. But under the Constitution the House actually has the power of the purse. So, if the President takes actions that exceed his Constitutional authority, will you withhold funding for those actions in the next must-pass

CNN reporter Diana Magnay has been reassigned to Moscow after tweeting that Israelis were “scum.” The spokeswoman confirmed to the Huffington Post Friday morning that Magnay has been assigned to Moscow, after the incident. “Israelis on hill above Sderot cheer as bombs land on #gaza; threaten to ‘destroy our car if I say a word wrong’. Scum,” Magnay tweeted before deleting it a short time afterwards. A CNN representative apologized for the incident, and tried to clarify the nature of her tweet. “After being threatened and harassed before and during a liveshot, Diana reacted angrily on Twitter,” a spokeswoman said

Pasta maker Barilla apologized four times for its chairman’s goofy, gay-dissing remarks last fall. But the company’s culinary orientation is beyond forgiving, judging by its recently opened, quick-serve Manhattan cafe. Since Academia Barilla launched a few months ago, reviewers have ignored it, even though the press couldn’t get enough of Barilla during last year’s uproar. Maybe it’s a boycott as demanded by gay-rights organizations after Barilla chairman Guido Barilla said he’d never use gays in commercials because he prefers “traditional” families.

In its efforts to cover the Malaysia Airlines crash today, MSNBC stumbled. In this case, the enormity of the stumble can’t possibly be described, abridged, short-handed or whatever. Just read the transcript of the video above. The awfulness occurs as MSNBC host Krystal Ball takes a phone call from an alleged “eyewitness” to the crash: Ball: Let’s turn now to an MSNBC exclusive. U.S. Staff Sgt. Michael Boyd is at the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine and says that he saw a missile in the air hit the plane. He is on the phone with us. Sergeant, are you there? Boyd: Yes, I’m here, can you hear me? Ball: I can, please tell us what you saw there on

President Barack Obama was on the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin when news of the Malaysian Airlines plane crash broke Thursday, but the White House won´t say whether the president learned of the incident from his counterpart in Moscow or by other means. It is at times like these, when he is pushed kicking and screaming into the crucible, that Obama’s callowness shows. For his supporters, that jejune, jocular air has been a plus for almost six years. For the rest of us, it has served as a liability and an irritation. Yesterday, it became a wholesale embarrassment. On the perpetual-campaign trail, the pattern is familiar. Trotting up to the podium, the president fist-bumps the audience’s stragglers and smiles a toothy and humble grin at those who catch his eye.
