Obama: White House Pies So Good,
You’d Think There Was Crack in Them

Mediaite, by Josh Feldman

President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama had a bit of a weird moment at the White House tonight during an LGBT reception when the president praised the exquisite work of the White House Executive Pastry Chef and joked if he puts crack in them. A crack joke at the White House. Bet you never saw that coming. The Obamas said they were sad to see Bill Yosses leave the White House. The president said, “His pies––I don’t know what he does, whether he puts crack in them––but…” The first lady quickly jumped in to clarify that no, “there is no crack in our

Obama´s insipid pie comment overshadowed the event, which was yet another LGBT celebration at the WH. While I realize Obama is celebrating his own bisexuality, is it really necessary to spend taxpayer funds for LGBT month, LGBT ambassadors and LGBT regulations? Obama and his progressive fascists are creating a separate but equal group of people rather than treating all citizens as equal. Separate but equal should have disappeared years ago.

This is the kind of thing that makes conservatives look stupid. He made a joke. It is a common joke. People say this all the time about ice cream and other "bad" treats. To make a big thing about this gives them the ammo to say that we are out to get him for any reason. To pretend you never heard this joke before also makes conservatives look out of it.

Crack cocaine is a viscious, killer, illegal drug which has ruined the lives of millions. And I guess I don´t get out much, because I personally don´t hear any people making jokes about it. He said it and once again him trying to be funny comes across as classless buffoonery. Oh and just prove that I´m not "out of it" if someone like Dave Chappelle or Chris Rock made a similar comment that would be funny. The pen is dead. It was murdered by the finger. I first realized this last week when my girlfriend asked to borrow a pen to sign the back of one of those paper check things. “Sure,” I replied, picking up my laptop bag to rummage inside. I pulled out a succession of rectangular-shaped gadgets, but there was no pen to be found. “Hmm, maybe we have one upstairs,” I said as we both began a detective-like search for anything that resembled a vessel for ink. We scoured the home office, kitchen drawers, bedrooms, even looking through our cars. But again, no pen. After backtracking

Paul Farhi of The Washington Post writes today about a trend at the White House—and throughout journalism—that threatens the quality and credibility of news-gathering: Public-relations "minders" are injecting themselves into our interviews with politicians, CEOs, and other policymakers. Minder madness joins the surge of "background briefings" and the decline of access to decision-makers as evidence that the White House—and other big instititutions—are manipulating the press. It´s that, but it´s also something worse: It´s evidence that journalists are ceding control when they should be seizing it, accepting canned news rather than breaking it. Farhi writes, "Almost every officially sanctioned exchange between reporters and

Diseases which were rife in the Victorian era are making a comeback, according to official figures. NHS statistics disclose that the number of cases of gout and scarlet fever have almost doubled within five years, with a rise in other illnesses such as scurvy, cholera, whooping cough and malnutrition. With Albany rocked by a seemingly endless barrage of scandals and arrests, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo set up a high-powered commission last summer to root out corruption in state politics. It was barely two months old when its investigators, hunting for violations of campaign-finance laws, issued a subpoena to a media-buying firm that had placed millions of dollars’ worth of advertisements for the New York State Democratic Party. The investigators did not realize that the firm, Buying Time, also counted Mr. Cuomo among its clients, having bought the airtime for his campaign when he ran for governor in 2010. Word that the
