Admit It: We Wackos are the Problem

I´ve been thinking over the Cantor loss and the Cochran win and the whole question of the Republican Party divided between its Beltway establishment and its Tea Party insurgency. And last week I read James V. DeLong´s excellent piece about the divide between the wheeling and dealing of the Republican establishment and the “values and concerns” (or V&C) of the ordinary GOP voter. His piece is titled “Why Voters Grew Tired of Cantor” but the URL reads “government-of-the-cronies-by-the-cronies-for-the-cronies.” I vote for the URL.

Comments:
The TeaParty lives on as long as there are people who believe in the same principles as our founding fathers.

Cochran may have won more than he wanted in the runoff June 24. Gotnews.com a young upstart who has mostly been tweeting, a Charles Johnson has video interview with a Rev. Stevie Fielder in MS who said he was approached by the Cochran campaign and paid $15/head to vote for Cochran. Fielder paid the voters when the envelops with $15 were brought to him by a Cochran staffer, but the Rev. Fielder himself got stiffed. The Cochran campaign reached out to Fielder to day and said they would pay him but wanted all text messages deleted from his phone. A text message is on the video at gotnews dot com. RedState.com also interviewed Fielder along with Johnson. The info they have collected has been turned over to the FBI in Jackson. It ties into Barbour and Sen. Wicker, too.

It´s illegal to buy votes in MS they said.
This will be an interesting week for the GOP establishment/RINOs. Talk about WACKOS!

Officials with the Obama administration held nothing back when speaking about the current halt on the shipment of missiles to Israel. The Wall Street Journal reports that in the war between Israel and Hamas, US officials stated that “Mr. Netanyahu and his national security team are both reckless and untrustworthy’.” What an absolutely perfect description of Obama. I’m going to add it to the growing list of adjectives reserved just for him.

I guess it´s easy to be moral when morality is defined as whatever you need at that moment. Still, it’s annoying to listen to people with such a weird, unearned sense of their own moral superiority. In truth, they are utterly morally illiterate. These are folks who draw parallels between Hamas and Israel when the only parallel between the Israelis and the jihadist degenerates is that they share the habit of breathing oxygen. You’d be better off discussing ethics with your terrier. At least your dog isn’t going to come up with excuses for Ted Kennedy. They´re delusional in that they really

He’s baaaaack, like a bad penny. Yes, Barry Soetoro, also known as Barack Obama, has returned yet again to the state he calls “Massa-tu-setts,” in the bosom of the Beautiful People, Martha’s Vineyard. The Vineyard is the dream destination of every carbon footprint-obsessed Democrat billionaire with his own private jet — an island, four miles out into the ocean, far, far removed from the foul breath of the plebeians. Martha’s Vineyard — the ultimate gated community. Every imaginable amenity is at Obama’s beck and call, except one. There are no “DREAMERS” on Martha’s Vineyard. Oh sure, a handful of illegals may be lurking about

One reason predictions of a Mitt Romney victory in 2012 were inaccurate, say analysts, is that the turnout among certain Democrat constituencies — in particular blacks and Hispanics -- was greater than expected. And what a significant factor this is! Whether we call it getting out the vote, having a great “ground game” or just turnout, it can make or break an election. But while the phrase “getting out the vote” is well understood, there is a lesser known election strategy: getting in the vote. What’s the difference? While the former involves getting as many as possible of the set number

It’s not true, as his critics like to say, that the president who went to Cairo to tell the world his election heralded great new things for the Middle East now has nothing to show for it. When the history books are written, they will credit Barack Obama for making Richard Nixon look like Moses. Forty years ago this evening, in a televised address to the nation, Nixon told the American people that, effective noon the next day, “I shall resign the presidency.” Since then the man’s failings have been exhaustively chronicled, and on this sorry anniversary they’ve once again been dragged out

As millions of Americans struggle with additional increases in their healthcare premiums, loss of their preferred coverage, loss of family doctors, loss of full-time employment and other adverse effects of Obamacare implementation, we are seeing the resurrection of several timeworn arguments from its supporters on social media, advocacy groups, and of course, the modern-day media. Although many in number, certain stalwart augments of the Left get my attention in that key misrepresentations now seem to be woven into the fabric of the American masses.

In Herman Melville´s classic story "Billy Budd," the narrator ponders what could be the matter with the master-at-arms "who has an animus toward the young seaman known as Billy Budd." Therein ensues a discussion about "natural depravity: a depravity according to nature." Thus, "one who has this natural depravity can be described as having an …even temper and discreet bearing [which] would seem to intimate a mind peculiarly subject to the law of reason, not the less in heart he would seem to riot in complete exemption from that law, having apparently little to do with reason [other] than to employ

As the late, great Eric Hoffer once said, "Every great cause begins as a movement, becomes a business, and eventually degenerates into a racket." So it is with feminism. There was a time in America when women couldn´t vote, when they weren´t allowed to work in the same professions as men and when they weren´t really considered the equal of a man. Feminism grew in response to that and even many men embraced it because they saw the inherent unfairness of society.

The events of the past few weeks on America’s southern border bring into clearer focus the Obama pledge to fundamentally transform America. By opening our borders to illegal immigrants, and pardoning those illegals already here as he plans through executive order, Obama will create millions of new citizens within a few years to help him transform America into a multicultural vacationland for the world’s footloose homeless with free food, housing, education, entertainment, and healthcare as drawing cards.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is such “a stubborn head” that he “refuses to understand anything.” So says Secretary of State John Kerry, reports the French weekly Le Canard Enchaine. Though satirical, Le Canard is known for excellent ties with French political insiders — especially with the Foreign Office in Paris, where, according to the paper, Kerry mocked the Israeli leader to several foreign ministers while seeking a Gaza cease-fire last week. Bad enough to bad-mouth an allied leader to Europeans who’ve been less than supportive of your ally. Worse to do it also in the presence of officials of two nations

The Obama courtship of Iran persists despite everything. It has been the president´s fixed intention from the first days of this presidency when he sent warm greetings to the regime and has proved utterly resistant to rebuff, to insult and to glaring failure. Obama is determinedly driving the policy toward the cliff, swerving around one huge blinking danger sign after another. Iran conspires to blow up a Saudi diplomat -- along with countless others -- in Cafe Milano, a popular Washington, D.C., restaurant? Keep driving. A recent poll by The Pew Research Center is reporting that America is more divided than ever. According to the poll, 66% of consistently conservative Republicans think the Democrats’ policies threaten the nation’s well-being and half (50%) of consistently liberal Democrats say Republican policies jeopardize the nation’s well-being. With everything that is going on in our country, all Americans should be united. So, what is it that has us divided? The issues that we are facing effects all Americans on both sides of the political fencefrom foreign policy disasters, wide-open borders to the economy.

They say a prosecutor could get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich, and this always seemed like hyperbole, until Friday night a Texas grand jury announced an indictment of governor Rick Perry. The “crime” for which Perry faces a sentence of 5 to 99 years in prison is vetoing funding for a state agency. The conventions of reporting — which treat the fact of an indictment as the primary news, and its merit as a secondary analytic question — make it difficult for people reading the news to grasp just how farfetched this indictment is. The Obama administration has done little to calm racial tensions as they spread from Manhattan to St. Louis to Los Angeles. Quite the opposite, some top officials have fueled African-American fears of racism with false accusations of anti-black discrimination. Attorney General Eric Holder’s race-baiting is no secret. Justice Department documents show the nation’s top cop gave thousands of dollars to help the Rev. Al Sharpton organize marches protesting the death of Trayvon Martin. Now he’s sent the civil-rights unit to St. Louis to do the same thing in the fatal shooting of Michael Brown. Less known, however, is the role of Labor Secretary Thomas

One person was shot and seven people arrested early this morning as police used smoke and tear gas to impose a curfew following the killing of an unarmed black teenager. Officers are seeking the person who shot the critically-wounded victim after the 12am-5am curfew took hold in Ferguson, Missouri - eight days after Michael Brown, 18, was shot dead by police. Police said their strong response came after people broke into a restaurant and took position on the roof overlooking officers, while another man flashed a handgun as armoured vehicles approached. A ?friend who is conservative and ?Jewish asks a question: “Given ?Obama’s hostile treatment of ?Israel, isn’t it time for Jews to have their Ronald Reagan moment?” By that, he means when the Gipper said, “I didn’t leave the Democratic Party. The scandal that erupted Friday night involved millions of dollars, statehouse power plays—oh yeah, and alcohol, police, and masks. Texas Governor Rick Perry was indicted Friday on charges of abuse of power—a first degree felony—and coercion—a third degree felony. The charges stem from a 2013 scandal that has been quietly rumbling in the Lone Star State as Perry has been floated as a viable contender for the Republican nomination in 2016. This is a complex case, which might be why it has not made national headlines the way other recent, state-level scandals (like Bridgegate, in New Jersey) have. Below, I have outlined

Attorney General Eric Holder has ordered a federal autopsy on the body of Michael Brown. Department of Justice spokesman Brian Fallon said it will be performed at the request of Brown´s family in addition to the one conducted by the state. Fallon also said that the Department of Justice will still take into account the state-performed autopsy during its civil rights investigation of Brown´s murder. Last week, Holder announced the federal probe following protests and outrage over the murder of the unarmed black teenager in Ferguson, Missouri. Since the murder, the town has erupted into multiple police clashes. Despite a

A grand jury in Travis County, Texas, indicted Governor Rick Perry today. Why? For exercising his constitutional prerogative by threatening to veto, and then vetoing, an appropriation to support the public corruption unit in Travis County’s district attorney’s office. This followed the arrest of the county’s district attorney, Democratic Party activist Rosemary Lehmberg, for drunk driving, after she was found “with an open bottle of vodka in the front passenger seat of her car in a church parking lot in Austin.” Ms. Lehmberg served 45 days in jail. The Travis County district attorney’s office has long been a cesspool of corruption.

NBC News reports: U.S. Army Major General Harold Greene was buried today at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors, including a caisson, two escort platoons, casket team, firing party, colors team, and a caparisoned horse. The graveside service began with a few words, followed by a 13-gun salute. The major general’s widow, Dr. Susan Myers, was seated in the front row. To her right

McDonald’s has a problem. For the first time in 10 years, the company generated less revenue in a month than it did a year before, and it’s not a blip. The world’s biggest burger chain has been posting lagging results for some time, particularly in the United States. Perry, an expected presidential candidate in 2016, is accused of "abuse of official capacity" and "coercion of [a] public servant" by publicly threatening to zero out a state prosecutor´s funding and then actually doing it. Several pundits, including former Obama campaign strategist David Axelrod, Clinton and Obama administration alum Jonathan Prince, Vox´s Matt Yglesias, and New York magazine´s Jonathan Chait, wrote on Twitter they couldn´t see what
