Same-day voter registration coming to Illinois
Chicago Tribune, by Rick Pearson

Original Article

Sweeping Illinois election law changes likely to be in place this fall mean it´ll be easier to register, vote while away at college and cast an early ballot. Democrats say the relaxed rules will allow more people to exercise a basic democratic right, but Republicans are leery the moves are aimed at pumping up the Democratic vote in what has been a decidedly blue state. The changes are part of a measure lawmakers approved this spring that Gov. Pat Quinn plans to sign into law this summer. The biggest one will allow same-day registration for the first time, meaning Illinois voters

Greater Chicago already rules the state politics, this just seals the deal. Downstate voters have no say in state politics or national/statewide elections.

Next, they will be voting Iraqi-style - showing a finger dipped in black ink to show they voted. Oh wait, that won´t work because there aren´t enough fingers to show the numbers of times they voted. Never mind.

"...vote while away at college and cast an early ballot." Then they can vote absentee from where they came from. This is known as demonrat voter fraud. I hope election officials get wise to this double vote trick.

The record flood of Central American children crossing the U.S. border is stretching funds and setting off improvisation at public schools. While politicians spend the summer fighting over how to turn back the tide, school leaders across the country are struggling to absorb a new student population the size of Newark, New Jersey. More than 40,000 children, many of them fresh from violent, harrowing journeys, have been released since October to stateside relatives as courts process their cases. "These kids were homesick and heartbroken," said Robin Hamby, a family specialist for Fairfax County Public Schools in suburban Washington,

If you think Michelle´s Well-Toned Arms is a tired cliche, you´re not in delirious love like The Washington Post. On the front page of Saturday´s Style section was a frothy feature from Post food critic Tom Sietsema. The headline was "Dinner with the first lady, at well-sculpted arm´s length: When a food critic is seated near Michelle Obama, more than the meal is reviewed." It´s a publicity coup for the new restaurant Barcelona in downtown Washington, now that the Post says "it´s already received Obama buzz." If he´s not on the golf course during his downtime, President Obama is likely to be found either at a Democratic fundraiser or chatting up some celebrities, or sometimes both. And if he has to sidestep the illegal-immigration crisis at the border to hobnob with a celeb pal, all the better. On day three of the biannual Television Critics Association Press Tour at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, Breitbart News and the assembled press got to hear from a couple of showbiz folks who recently had sit-downs with the POTUS. WASHINGTON — CHELSEA CLINTON never acted out during the eight years she came of age as America’s first daughter. No ditching of her Secret Service detail. No fake IDs for underage tippling. Sarah Palin wants to impeach Barack Obama. In an op-ed article published last week, the former Republican vice presidential nominee declared that the crisis on the southern border (where young illegal immigrants are being detained) "is the last straw that makes the battered wife say, ´No, mas´." The Republican Speaker of the House, John Boehner, thinks that´s loco. (Technically, he said, "I disagree".) For Republicans hoping to avoid the kind of drama that might derail what looks to be a very good midterm election year, this kind of call is both a nuisance and a trend.
