Egos And Infighting: The GOP´s
Biggest Opponent In November

Townhall, by Derek Hunter

Stars are aligning for a big Republican victory this November – solidifying and expanding the GOP’s majority in the House and perhaps gaining one in the Senate. This is a best-case scenario, and any majority in the Senate would be a slim one. But the importance of removing Harry Reid as majority leader cannot be overstated. That’s why Democrats will pull every dirty trick in their deep bag to hold the Senate, and sadly many Republicans will help them in that quest. President Obama will have two years left to wreak havoc on the country after the next election, but he can only throw stones into the river of time, not permanently change its

I disagree with the author but am posting anyway. Character does matter, it is not ego, it is knowing what is evil when you see it. The Republican party has left me. I am 62 years old and will no longer vote for the party that called me a racist.

Cochran can retire, let McDaniel take his place. Call them irregularities and have Thad step down. Otherwise the Senate is lost and 2016 a pipe dream because the Tea Party base will be lost. The Establishment wants to grow the party because they don´t have support of the Tea Party base. Ergo, it is the Establishment that needs to start a new party, the Tea Party represents the values and principles of the GOP. The GOP will continue to lose until the Establishment is overthrown.

This article emanates with the smell of fear. The fear that the GOP may be beginning to believe it has, in having crossed the line, greatly jeopardized their chances to take back the senate in Nov. Unfortunately, the only tactic to counter with is to use fear to scare people with images of an ultra liberal and progressive Supreme Court.

I believe the other odor emanating from the GOP is that of 3 day old fish.

Something to ponder for establishment GOP types that are offended by the GOP´s decision to grind up of true Americans to hold onto their power.

There are too many articles that trash the Republicans because there are small differences between solutions put forth by the candidates. And, these articles are supposedly written by conservatives. Just once I would like to see a left-wing nut write something/anything that is detrimental to ´their´ people. Why should anyone believe the claptrap written by these opinion writers when the articles are published to try to persuade conservatives there is no hope?

There IS no hope if we continue to think just papering over, ignoring or refusing to understand that the fish rots from the head down is why the GOP has fallen to such a degree. The dirt cannot be swept under the rug any longer. There is one party in Washington - it simply has two heads. It´s goal in life is to protect and grow the government blob. They worship at the feet of government. Amen OP. It´s about character and the GOP establishment has not known what that is for quite some time.

I will vote for candidates that represent my interests, not a party. The GOP as a party does not and will likely not have my support ever again. Some of their candidates, perhaps, but never again will I vote for the lesser of two evils. McConnell is simply the GOPs version of Harry Reid, and we need neithe of them... They´ve both caused enough damage already.

Screw the GOP and the Dems.

A invalid point is made in the article about how gracefully Eric Cantor lost.

Last week Eric Cantor cleaned out all the cash in the Virginia Republican accounts and sent the money to the Republican Committee (either RNC or NRSC) leaving David Brat with nothing to run a campaign on. I don´t call that losing gracefully. How exactly does that advance the cause of the Republican party? Or the country? I´ll answer my own question: It doesn´t.

Behind Eric´s bland smile lurks evil.

The problem is the in-fighting is no longer petty, it´s vile. It would be helpful if McConnell and DeMint could set aside their feud and work together. Whether it´s for Tea Party candidates or not. I think ridding the world of Harry Reid is an important goal. I have no senate race in my state. In ´16 I plan on seeing McCain retired. This year I plan on working to remove the most liberal Dem in the House, Kirsten Sinema, from my district, AZ-9.

A terrible polling season just got humiliating for President Obama. On top of collapsing personal and job approval numbers, and a stunning loss in public confidence, a new Quinnipiac poll shows that the American people now see a president who rode into office on a wave of hope and change as the worst president since World War II. Adding insult to injury, in hindsight, only 38% of voters believe Obama is doing a better job than his 2012 Republican rival Mitt Romney would have. A plurality of 45% believe Romney would be doing a better job than Obama. When asked who the

This is not the first time the corrupt national GOP power structure and the Mississippi Republican Party have betrayed conservatism. By now, the deeply questionable practices of the Thad Cochran campaign and his apparatchiks in Mississippi are known to all. Mysterious robo-calls, unaccounted for mailings, street money, all designed to not just to defeat but ruin Chris McDaniel, because he had the temerity to take on the Establishment. The anti-conservative forces inside the GOP even engaged and paid Democratic consultants to help destroy the campaign of a fellow Republican.

Last Tuesday in Mississippi, incumbent Republican Sen. Thad Cochran beat his challenger, State Sen. Chris McDaniel, in a Republican runoff. There is no dispute that Cochran won by bringing thousands of Democrats into the Republican runoff to support him. Cochran´s victory, if left unaddressed by conservatives, will set a dangerous precedent within Republican primaries. Republican PACs, national Republican political operatives and the Republican establishment collaborated to accuse conservative and tea party activists of racism. These Republicans painted their very base as the second coming on the KKK and Hitler.

Republican Party elders have learned well from their political idol, Barack H. Obama. After observing the total lawlessness of President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder over the past five and half years, as both men ignored all checks and balances without consequence, ruling Republican elites have seen fit to adopted their strategy of overt lawlessness. Unburdened from ethics, state election laws, or voter accountability, national GOP party masters adopted and replicated Obama and Holder’s “best practices” in the deep red state of Mississippi.

The Internal Revenue Service is about to get slapped with a harsh payback for messing around with conservative groups, blowing wads of tax dollars on employee conferences and helping implement Obamacare. The House Appropriations Committee is set to OK an IRS budget of $10.9 billion, $1.5 billion under President Obama´s request for fiscal year 2015, reducing the agency´s budget to 2008 levels. The goal is to keep the tax agency focused on its “core duties,” and eliminate efforts to judge the political activities of tax-exempt groups and brake its implementation of Obamacare.

The only reason liberalism survives is because there´s usually a good bit of lag between when a policy is being implemented and the time when the American people get to see the results. If Americans could somehow magically see what would happen in a decade or two after a liberal policy has passed, there would be no liberals left. Instead, back in the real world, liberals create or exacerbate disasters with their policies, blame everyone other than themselves, and then demand more government action to fix the problem they screwed up in the first place. It’s eerily undeniable. There is a psychic or perhaps even several working at the White House Communications Agency (WHCA) and the United States Secret Service. There’s no other way to explain it, unless one is otherwise inclined to suggest that a vast inter-agency conspiracy exists deep within the bowels of the agency once controlled by the White House Military Office. How else is one able to explain the uncanny accuracy with which the WHCA supplied the United State’s Secret Service the not-so-secret codename for Barack Hussein Obama at the very onset of his reign? We should ask Senate majority leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.) the same question once posed to Senator Joseph McCarthy by U.S. Army head-counsel Robert N. Welch: “Have you no sense of decency, sir?
