Central America Border Rush
Fueled By Remittances

Investor´s Business Daily, by Editorial

Original Article

Posted By:PageTurner, 6/28/2014 2:56:16 PM

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Honduras first lady Ana Garcia de Hernandez are making separate tours of the south Texas border, where most of the 52,000 unaccompanied illegal immigrant children have crossed this year. But while the political debate has focused on U.S. immigration enforcement, a key economic factor has been lost in the clamor. Guatemala, El Salvador and Honduras, which are supplying three-quarters of the latest cross-border flood, are bucking a trend in Latin America toward stronger local economies based on sound reforms and security.

Comments:
Successive amnesties have addicted these governments to remittances. That frees them up from the need to feed, educate or encourage their locals to improve themselves and to make their countries competitive. It will all lead to trouble as Mexico and Colombia learned. Those countries turned themselves around and are no longer net shippers of illegals. Central America has got to learn from them.

And of course the immigrants get free education, housing, food, medical care and walking around money from we generous taxpayers. They take our jobs, often working for taxless cash, claim tax credits for refunds never paid into and then send all the money they´ve basically stolen - OUT of this country, to be circulated in their home country, right along with all the other aid our government also generously bestows upon them. This golden goose is running out of eggs.

If Mexico is so great why don´t the immigrants move there?

Why do they continue on to the U.S. where the language is different and working without a visa is illegal?

Sorry, Mexico, they came from your territory so they´re your problem.

Castro is a great hero to the Democrat Party, of course, and so it is only natural that they would want to emulate that time when their hero emptied his prisons and sent them to America. I read the "the children" are almost all young males as in gang member age, not "children."

Almost the entire Syrian side of the Golan Heights is now under the control of rebel forces, including radical Islamist groups, a senior Israeli military commander in the area said Friday. Only the Quneitra border area is still in the hands of forces loyal to President Bashar Assad, Lt.-Col. Anan Abbas, deputy commander of the Golan Brigade, told Israel’s Channel 10. About 95 percent of the Syrian side of the Golan is in the hands of anti-Assad rebels, including radical Islamic groups such as the Al-Nusra Front, affiliated with al-Qaeda, a rival of the burgeoning Islamic State of Iraq and the

CASSELBERRY, Fla. - A Casselberry mother was arrested on allegations of refusing to take her newborn, diagnosed by a doctor as dehydrated, to a hospital because of her staunch vegan stance. Sarah Anne Markham was arrested Tuesday on a charge of child neglect. Forget toxic waste dumps, the Environmental Protection Agency apparently has a more immediate cleanup problem in its own backyard: An employee defecating in the hallway. GovernmentExecutive.com, the government´s business news daily and key website for federal managers and executives, reported Wednesday that the EPA management for Region 8 in Denver sent an e-mail earlier this month to staff pleading to stop inappropriate bathroom behavior, including defecating in the hallway. In the e-mail, obtained by Government Executive, Deputy Regional Administrator Howard Cantor noted "several incidents" in the building, including clogging the toilets with paper towels and "an individual placing feces in the hallway"

Lt. James Wilson said police had not made any arrests. The sign was posted outside the library on South Greeley Avenue to promote the weekend appearance of Clinton, a Chappaqua resident. But someone wrote across the sign in large red letters the word, "Benghazi," police said. It refers to the 2012 attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya. Emigration: Central American leaders have taken to lecturing the U.S. on the care and feeding of the tens of thousands of their emigrants who have suddenly flooded our southern border. Have they no shame? Apparently they don´t, though the Spanish language has a very strong word — sinverguenza — for such gall. Start with Honduras President Juan Orlando Hernandez. After 37,049 of his countrymen were repatriated by the U.S. after fleeing in 2013, he told Fusion: "I´ve asked the United States government to treat this matter with the utmost care from a humanitarian perspective. BEIJING, June 21 — Animal lovers provoked an angry backlash from residents of a Chinese city after protesting a controversial festival today in which locals celebrate the summer solstice by eating dog meat, witnesses and media said. Activists have flocked for weeks to Yulin, in the southwestern region of Guangxi, to protest the local custom of eating dog—particularly on the summer solstice, which fell today, in an event dubbed the “dog meat festival”. But their efforts have backfired. “A lot of people have said, ‘I don’t eat dog meat, but just because of these idiots, I will go buy dog meat

VATICAN CITY -- Pope Francis came out strongly against the legalization of recreational drugs on Friday. The pontiff told members of a drug enforcement conference meeting in Rome that even limited attempts to legalize recreational drugs "are not only highly questionable from a legislative standpoint, but they fail to produce the desired effects." Francis has frequently railed against the "evil" of drug addiction and has met with addicts on several occasions. Just last month, Uruguay -- next door to Francis´ native Argentina -- approved selling marijuana cigarettes in pharmacies, and recreational marijuana is legal in the U.S. states of Colorado and

That was the result of a study published Friday by Gallup, which also indicates that disapproval of Obama’s immigration policies has increased 10 percent since the last time the same survey was taken in August 2013. Since Gallup began taking the poll, never has it come up with such a high disapproval rating, and only in 2010 was approval lower than 31 percent.

Only 14% of Republicans, 23% of independents, and 27% of Democrats favor increased immigration. This included 50% of GOP voters, 43% of independents, and 32% of Democrats. The percentage of those preferring to decrease immigration has jumped from 35% in 2012 and 2013 to 41% in 2014. Comparisons between Hillary Clinton and Mitt Romney have been greatly exaggerated, Hillary Clinton says. Clinton practically rolled with laughter when PBS’ Gwen Ifill noted humorlessly that her own husband has been “forced” to defend her recent comments about being “dead broke” after leaving the White House. What was humorous in that remarks is known only to Clinton. “I shouldn’t have said the, I think, five or so words that I said,” the former secretary of state said. “My inartful use of those five words doesn’t change who I am.” Later in the interview, Ifill asked if Clinton had become the Democratic adaptation of

A shocking new report from the Center for Immigration Studies claims to prove that every single new job created in America for the last fourteen years has gone to immigrants, legal and illegal. This would fly in the face of those who claim that immigration is an economic boon to native born Americans: The CIS report found that over the last 14 years, people who were born in the United States held 114.8 million jobs in 2000, and held 114.7 million jobs in 2014, a drop of 127,000. Dear Secretary Clinton, Please consider this in the nature of a friendly intervention. You have a money problem. It’s time to deal with it before it gets worse. Actually, you have two money problems. The first is how you talk about it. The second is how you collect it — or, to be more precise, the fact that you’re still frenetically collecting it. Let me be clear at the outset: The issue isn’t that you’re rich, or even that you and your husband became rich after leaving office. Were Lois Lerner’s allegedly lost emails actually destroyed? An Ohio-based trade association, the International Association of Information Technology Asset Managers (IAITAM), isn’t so sure, and they don’t find IRS commissioner Koskinen’s explanation of their loss very plausible. IAITAM administers internationally accepted certifications for information technology professionals. According to the group’s standards, if Lerner’s supposedly malfunctioning hardware was properly destroyed, there would be records of it. Dr. Barbara Rembiesa, president of IAITAM, questions whether there is documentation of the destruction of the files. Who performed the work, says Rembiesa, is important because not all IT professionals are IAITAM certified. “The notion

What transpired in the Mississippi Senate run-off is a red line for many conservatives across the country, because the Republican Party establishment essentially took a civil war and escalated it to a war for independence. It’s one thing to oppose your base in a primary. It’s entirely another to despicably play the race card against your base, and bolster the legitimacy of the propaganda of our race-baiting opponents on the Left. But that’s exactly what the Kamikaze pilots running the GOP did. As a result, Chris McDaniel won Republican voters handily on Tuesday, but still lost the run-off statewide thanks
