How to Fight Back Against
the GOP Establishment’s
Worst Treachery Yet

Townhall, by Steve Deace

Original Article

What transpired in the Mississippi Senate run-off is a red line for many conservatives across the country, because the Republican Party establishment essentially took a civil war and escalated it to a war for independence. It’s one thing to oppose your base in a primary. It’s entirely another to despicably play the race card against your base, and bolster the legitimacy of the propaganda of our race-baiting opponents on the Left. But that’s exactly what the Kamikaze pilots running the GOP did. As a result, Chris McDaniel won Republican voters handily on Tuesday, but still lost the run-off statewide thanks to

This was unconscionable!

The way we do this is use Brat v. Cantor as a model. First find a credible candidate willing to put together a real campaign. He/she would need to have the ability to raise at least $200,000. The local Tea Parties should organize by Congressional District and become the Ground Game for the candidate. We´re a fractious lot and there has to be an agreement on this Candidate. We’re too far down the road for this year but we can do this for 2016. A spontaneous mob with tumbrels takes a while to organize. At the same time we can use this same tactic to try to become delegates to the National Convention. Start looking at the rules and get some rebels into that “Big Tent”.

The National Tea Party Organizations are mostly a drain on our resources and the funding generated by the Grass Roots. Ignore them. Give to your local group. Eighty percent plus of the money giving to these national groups pays overhead and at times lavish personal salaries.

We are starting to talk to others now for this purpose. Some really big donors are responding to this approach and we have been asked to meet with them. It’s now the ruling class and their Crony Capitalist bankers versus “We, the People”. I like our chances.

Mike (mikkens2), we’re in the fight. The Establishment would rather lose the places behind Abbott on our statewide ticket. That’s why we’re going to work hard for Patrick, Paxton and Miller. We will use this to build our Grass Roots Organization and begin to link the Tea Parties who support the three.
We’re in Texas by the way. We have lots of Republicans of convenience as well as Crony Capitalist’s here. They’re in our immediate sights.

Vote dem for senate R for the house until they either start supporting their base (as opposed to demanding the base support them) or the "establishment" is purged from the senate. Repeal of the 17th amendment would help.

When the Democrats are digging themselves into a hole, the GOP should not divide itself and dig them out. They would love nothing better.

While the tactics used by the GOP winner were abominable, it is street-fighting, something we must get used to. I´d rather such street fighting be used against Democrats, though.

If we promote division within the GOP, Democrats win, because any Republican will be better than any Democrat.

The article´s title said "how to fight back." And suggested we not vote for bad people. Really? That´s it? Wow, thanks!

Since Old Thad basically had to "cheat" to win, how about fighting back with good old blackmail? Or as they call it in politics -- leverage. McDaniel should do all the legal stuff first. If that produces nothing, he should plead his case to the National Republican Committee, asking that Old Thad immediately apologize and withdraw from the race. If that does NOT happen, McDaniel should run as a third party or write in candidate, easily giving the seat to the Dems.

The NRC would then have the choice between supporting a the cheater Thad who will lose the November election, or supporting McDanie,l the type of candidate Republicans want in the senate, and who should win easily in November

#4, I´ve finally gotten to the point where I (expletive) don´t care. I finally understand why all those kamikaze conservative voters wouldn´t vote for Republican candidates who weren´t ideologically pure. I don´t need lock-step purity, but if I continue to vote straight GOP I feel I´ll be losing a piece of my soul. The party has become the evil we´ve been fighting against. I was in the first class of 18-year-old voters who voted for president in 1976. I voted for Reagan but Carter won. I´ve been a registered Republican and voted "R" ever since. No more. I´ll be researching the parties--constitutional, conservative, or independent--and changing my affiliation this week. LISTEN: if the Republicans lose elections after their Mississippi treachery, they have only themselves to blame!

In Texas I think the rule is if you didn´t vote in the primary you cannot vote in the runoff, and if you voted dem you can only vote in the dem runoff. It´s easy to tabulate.

As far as this one goes, I say write in and be done with it.

Dems are too comfortable. They need to be shaken up just as much as the GOP.

#15 and #16 - Just so you will know, I realize that you may not agree, but many of us here are not primarily concerned about who won or lost. We just learned a lot more about the establishment GOP and what they will do to get their way. Power trumps character. This has nothing (NOTHING) to do with Mississippi - it has to do with the GOP and their lack of principle and the need to remove them from their corrupted positions.

America’s current political strife stems largely from a simple misunderstanding that occurred back in November 2007. Many of us thought we were voting for a candidate for the office of president, but Barack Obama thought he was running for Philanthropist-in-Chief, a position that would entitle him to skip the part where he actually had to earn wealth before giving it away.
