Gallup: Only 22% of Americans
Favor Increased Immigration

Bretbart´s Big Government, by William Bigelow

With the news of a massive influx of immigrants on the southern border, a new Gallup Poll shows that only 22% of Americans favor increased immigration. Only 14% of Republicans, 23% of independents, and 27% of Democrats favor increased immigration. The poll actually revealed a strong desire among Americans to decrease immigration, as 41% of respondents thought immigration should be decreased. This included 50% of GOP voters, 43% of independents, and 32% of Democrats. The percentage of those preferring to decrease immigration has jumped from 35% in 2012 and 2013 to 41% in 2014. There has been a slow but steady growth since
Staff has split headline.

The numbers speak for themselves. The rise in the Postgraduate numbers is probably because they think that this does not effect them nor their jobs. You would think they would be smarter than this but....

Why then are both parties so in favor of amnesty? Why don´t they represent WTP? Well the Democrats want the illegals because they will be in need of huge amounts of State and Federal entitlements and will then be beholden to the Democrats - the future of the Democrat party as obama declared. They just want the votes and could care less about the illegals as humans. The establishment Republicans want amnesty because the Chamber of Commerce says they need more cheap labor. The illegals are just a commodity to the elite Republicans. We the people don´t want amnesty but there is no one in Washington D.C that represents us except for a handful in the Senate and House. If the Democrats get amnesty Texas will be turned blue and the country will be a one party country like Venezuela and Cuba. Just think of the obama, hillary, schumer, reid and the likes running the everything in the country. May be that´s why the we the people are against amnesty.

Plus a few commie shills (Musbrobama, Pelosi et. al.) 22% is probably the number of illegal aliens in the country already. I´m guessing it´s now over 40 million, if one could actually enumerate them.

When Obamacare was passed, only about 40% of Americans favored it. It never had a majority favorability poll. Look what happened.

This POTUS doesn´t care what Americans want. Polling means nothing and changes nothing. O cares about what he and Michelle want although he´ll settle for an oligarchy with himself at the helm for life.

De facto immigration has already taken place with this latest massive (deliberately calculated) influx of South American and Mexican immigrants.

The only way "immigration" will become a serious issue is if Congress does something about Obama´s "Fast & Furious" technique using immigrants this time. And Congress isn´t in the mood to step on O´s toes. O is in a bad mood lately and we are the ones who suffer.

The rest get free stuff. We get broken laws, a shredded Constitution and Nancy Pelosi´s welcoming committee telling these illegals "Come get your free stuff. After all, this is the land of the free."

This just goes to show that the average American is much smarter than the politicians in Washington DC. If you are not solely looking through the lens of political expediency, you understand the financial strain that is being put upon the system by the influx of illegals. We just can´t afford the extra burden they present. Most importantly. Politicians are saying to the world that our rule of law means nothing and they are willing to ignore it when it benefits them. This is not what the Founders intended. This administration is actively picking choosing the laws they enforce. Americans want our sovereignty protected and know politicians on both sides are willing to throw it away for power. It is evident the will of the people is being ignored and Americans are fed up.

Why do both parties push amnesty?

Democrats want Mexicans to vote for them.

Republican crony capitalists want cheap foreign labor to replace their American workers.

It´s a devil´s bargain.

When something defies all logic....follow the money! Why would RINOS vote for amnesty and do nothing about our open borders, which could flip Texas to blue and crash our welfare and medical system?

Let´s look at who benefits from our open borders:
Poor and desperate people, big business that wants cheap labor, drug traffickers, terrorists.

Here´s the answer and it´s the definitive answer you can take to the bank; the ONLY reason immigrants are flooding the borders is for their votes this November. After so many conservatives surprisingly lose in selected districts important to the Marxists, some Howard Kurtz firm-grasp-of-the-obvious clone at the Weekly Standard will suddenly "discover" that "maybe" the illegal immigrants were shipped to those districts, and "maybe" they were illegally registered and "maybe" they changed the numbers in favor of the left. (Oh, and the Krauthammer/Will/Barnes/pick one article will come out months AFTER those facts have been established and proven). Then, we´ll add that to the long, long list of other things that light conservative talk show hosts´ hair on fire. Upshot? Just like all the other twenty plus felonies done in broad daylight by Obama, NOTHING will happen and he will continue unabated. Rinse, repeat. Gosh, how do I know that?

Here´s another clue; it doesn´t matter how low Obama´s numbers go nor how low polls demonstrate the favorability of immigration or anything else Val does to make us the USSR, just ask Thad. We seem to simply whine our way to the new and present Marxist reality that is the United States right now.

We have 20 million immigrants in this country already who were not supposed to be here.

It is insanity to allow everyone in that wants to come. That is why ALL countries limit immigration. Further, we want to have immigrants come in that help build the country, not ones we will have to support.

Immigration and guest workers should be driven mostly by the needs of the country with some small allowances for refuges of various types. With Obama´s economy running in reverse. now is NOT the time to be bringing in additional people who will not be able to find jobs or will be taking them from citizens.

BTW, did you know that around 2/3 of the annual immigrants are for "family reintegration", i.e. they have a family member already here. About 17% are allowed immigration for humanitarian reasons. Only 13% immigrate for jobs.

Amnesty is a crap shoot for the Republicans, they don´t know how many illegal aliens are in the country, the years long low ball figure is 11 million, but in reality there could be 20 million plus, the vast majority are poor and generally uneducated, and the liberal Democrat amnesty and path to citizenship that Obama and the liberal Democrats are pressing for would allow legalized aliens to bring their foreign family members here in unlimited numbers. That means an amnesty like that would legalize in total up to fifty million aliens, the vast majority being prospective future Democrat voters. The Republicans would have to be political morons to go along with any legalization program like that.

Obama and his crew say if the Republicans do not cave and go along with what he wants, that he will essentially undermine the current immigration laws by refusing to deport illegal aliens unless they have violent felony criminal records and will allow all illegal alien adults who bring or smuggle their illegal alien children into the USA to stay and work. If that were to happen tens of millions of prospective illegal aliens from all over the world would be encouraged to come here, await amnesty and then be granted citizenship. Something tells me that the Democrats are going to feel a severe backlash from the American people in the November election over this issue and what is going on at the borderline.

I just can´t make any sense out of democrat thinking. I didn´t understand Clinton pushing NAFTA that sent American businesses to Mexico and beyond. It really hurt the economy in flyover country. Now, the democrats and Obama are flooding our country with illegal aliens (they are not "immigrants"!) creating a new welfare/slave labor class (and again sending our economy, security, and job market into oblivion!). Who are these crazy people?

Anyone notice that the liberal Democrats are all for aborting black American babies while allowing in illegal alien HIspanic babies?

The nation´s immigration system was not meant to be a new foreign voter generator for the liberal Democrats, or to allow as many poor and generally uneducated aliens from all over the world who wish to, to just come here illegally, or overstay temporary visas, stay here to await the next amnesty, be put on a streamlined path to citizenship while keeping their home country citizenship, and then become Democrat voters, thus canceling out enough Republican and conservative votes to change the political balance of the USA to the distinct favor of the Democrats. But clearly that´s what Obama and the liberal Democrats are attempting to do by undermining the nation´s immigration system right now.

Your calumny against the Catholic Church generally and Pope Francis in particular today is not worthy of this site. Your myopic prejudice diminishes your comments and your credibility.

The Catholic Church is not responsible for the fact that Obama doesn´t enforce our current immigration laws, or that the GOP establishment allows it to happen. The Catholic Church sees poor and uneducated people being exploited and is responding to the resultant humanitarian needs.

In 1776 Americans declared themselves independent of more than arbitrary rule by a distant monarch. They also severed the ties of aristocracy. This was in itself a revolutionary notion. It meant that political power, its attendant privilege and economic advantages would no longer be transferred by the blood. Earldoms, dukedoms, and kingdoms were banished from the territory and from the future of the American people. The citizen became the self-identifying unit of self-rule. The generation of English colonists who gathered together in the summer of 1776 to declare their independence from the English crown knew that they had exhausted all other remedies.

A Fox News exclusive reported this morning by Jana Winter inexplicably buried the lede. Winter reports that several dead children have been discovered “washed up along the riverbank” of the Rio Grande, but fails to note that there have been no reports by the Obama administration on this. This indicates a pattern of covering up dead illegal alien kids by the Obama administration. It was two weeks before news was reported on the sole child death acknowledged by the Obama administration, Gilberto Ramos, a 15 year-old boy from Guatemala whose body was found in the Texas brush dead from the

Professor Stephen Hawking is backing the academic boycott of Israel by pulling out of a conference hosted by Israeli president Shimon Peres in Jerusalem as a protest at Israel´s treatment of Palestinians. Hawking, 71, the world-renowned theoretical physicist and former Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, had accepted an invitation to headline the fifth annual president´s conference, Facing Tomorrow, in June, which features major international personalities, attracts thousands of participants and this year will celebrate Peres´s 90th birthday. Hawking is in very poor health, but last week he wrote a brief letter to the Israeli president to say he

President Obama is “absolutely” the most transparent president in history, White House press secretary Josh Earnest said Sunday after the White House received a letter from signed by a dozen top journalists’ groups complaining about the administration’s policies toward the media. “There are a number of steps that we´ve taken to give people greater insight into what´s happening at the White House,” Earnest said in an interview with CNN’s “Reliable Sources.” The letter, signed by the Society of Professional Journalists and the Poynter Institute, among others, accuses the White House of "politically driven suppression of news and information about federal agencies." It

First lady Michelle Obama grabbed the political reins during a speech to the League of United Latin American Citizens in New York City, telling the crowd of admirers not to worry — that her husband wouldn’t wait on Congress to take action on immigration reform. “So make no mistake about it — we have to keep on fighting as hard as we can on immigration,” Mrs. Obama said, to a cheering crowd, Breitbart reported. “And as my husband has said, he’s going to do whatever administrative action it takes to fix this broken system.” Mrs. Obama then vowed that Congress wouldn’t get

The U.S. deported Honduran children as young as 1-1/2 years old on Monday in the first flight since President Obama pledged to speed up the process of sending back illegal immigrant minors from Central America. Fleeing violence and poverty, record numbers of children from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala have crossed into the United States over the past year, sparking intense debate about how to solve the problem. Monday´s flight from New Mexico to San Pedro Sula, the city with the highest murder rate in the world, returned 17 Honduran women, as well as 12 girls and nine boys, aged

In remarks framed as a message to the American public, actor Jon Voight emotionally aired his political grievances for several minutes in a televised statement on Saturday. Those grievances range from (but are not limited to) Benghazi, the IRS scandal, the "targeting" of conservative filmmaker Dinesh D´Souza, illegal immigration, the Hobby Lobby Supreme Court case, the treatment of war veterans, the chaos in Iraq and deep reservations about President Obama. "Five years ago, I stated that Obama would take the country apart piece-by-piece, that he would cause a civil war in this country," Voight read on Saturday in a statement on

Inquiring minds wonder if there’s a “G” in the grading repertoire. And that does not stand for “good.” Pollster John Zogby has given President Obama an “F” this week for the White House performance on the global stage, and the researcher has no imminent good news for the president. “Some people have really bad weeks. Brazil’s President Dilma Rousseff got an ‘F’ after the nation’s soccer team lost to Germany. But President Obama’s week was just as bad,” Mr. Zogby says. “Israel and the Palestinians are at war again. The president should have visited the U.S.-Mexican border, where so many immigrant children are in danger and so many

On July 16, comic character Archie Andrews, of Life With Archie, will die after being shot while protecting gay friend Kevin Keller. Keller is "Archie Comics´ first openly gay character." According to the Associated Press, Keller is "a married military veteran and newly elected senator who´s pushing for more gun control in Riverdale after his husband was involved in a shooting." Archie Comics´ publisher and co-CEO Jon Goldwater said the way in which Archie will die was carefully chosen. While he could have been killed saving "Betty" or saving "Veronica," doing so for Keller was something "that would really resonate

Attorney General Eric Holder said Sunday he and President Obama have been targets of “a racial animus” by some of the administration’s political opponents. “There´s a certain level of vehemence, it seems to me, that´s directed at me [and] directed at the president,” Holder told ABC. “You know, people talking about taking their country back. … There´s a certain racial component to this for some people. I don’t think this is the thing that is a main driver, but for some there´s a racial animus." Holder said the nation is in “a fundamentally better place than we were 50 years ago.” “We´ve

President Obama is known for being competitive on the basketball court, but he´s also apparently a cutthroat pool player. Gov. John Hickenlooper, D-Colo., told reporters at the National Governors Association meeting on Sunday that the president surprised him by beat him in two consecutive games. To add insult to injury, the two were playing at the Wynkoop Brewing Company, a bar that Hickenlooper co-founded. "You know I´ll tell ya -- the man is a shark," Hickenlooper told reporters, Time reports. "I was up a few balls. I felt pretty good. I was actually wondering whether how hard should I --

Where is the red line of impeachment? In theory, a red line might be located somewhere on a list of impeachable offenses – perhaps at the point where a certain number of transgressions is exceeded, or next to a specific instance because of its significance or impact. In reality, though, that red line exists along a spectrum of “political will.” As Andrew McCarthy explained: “You can have a thousand provable impeachable offenses, but before Congress may remove the president from power, there must be strong popular support – a public will that cuts across partisan and ideological lines.”
