Former Gov. Jeb Bush of Florida is planning to headline a fundraiser for at least four Republican Senate candidates, seeking to make an impact on the 2014 election while exploring the possibility of his own presidential bid in 2016. The fundraiser is scheduled for Sept. 23 in Tampa, Fla. The chosen candidates are crucial to a Republican takeover of the Senate, including Cory Gardner in Colorado, Joni Ernst in Iowa, Monica Wehby in Oregon and Tom Cotton in Arkansas. The event may also benefit the winner of the Aug. 26 Republican primary in Alaska. Allies of Mr. Bush said an event of

The Bush family can flat out raise money. In 2016 there is going to be a desire to win among the major donors. Like him or not Jeb is pretty conservative. He may be the most electable. He takes Florida off the table. He probably takes the entire south except Virginia off the table. He would be even money or better in New Mexico, Colorado, Iowa, NH, Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania. Pair him with Walker and you have a ticket that can beat the Hildebeast. Amnesty isn´t passing the Senate anytime soon. None of the Tea Party dream tickets are going to get the nomination. That´s just reality.

Common core, single payer, open borders and citizenship for all. What is it about Jeb that makes him conservative? Money will not make the rewarmed strained peas that the establishment wants to serve the voters any more palatable.

Electable? Based on what? The establishment just informed that world that all White Males and their church going spouses are racists. The Bushes own everything Rove does.

Polls mean nothing at this point. Romney was well ahead in the polls at this point after 7 years of running for president. How did that work out for him?

As the Fourth of July nears, summer officially swings into full gear, and Main Streets across the country will be home to legions of parades featuring community members coming together to celebrate our independence. In the nation´s capital, however, our president appears to be leading a one-man parade of his own to force an ill-conceived emissions-reduction plan onto the American people in hopes other nations will follow. Unfortunately, as the president tosses his own ticker tape, world leaders are refusing to follow, as they recognize the consequences associated with the president’s plan are simply too steep to risk. The U.S. military has secretly operated in Somalia since around 2007 and the Obama administration is planning on expanding that assistance to help counter the Al Qaeda-linked group al Shabaab. A senior U.S. defense official confirmed to Fox News Wednesday the details of the military presence, which were first reported by Reuters. An Obama administration official told Reuters there are approximately 120 U.S. troops on the ground in Somalia serving as trainers and advisers. The troops are “not involved in combat,” the official said. The Pentagon announced in January that it sent a handful of advisers in 2013 to Somalia,

‘Immigrants bring disease’ is an old prejudice, but it turns out some of the thousands of children streaming across the border have brought H1N1 with them. Here’s something you don’t hear a journalist say very often: I blew it. I was wrong. I dismissed out of hand the suggestion by anti-immigration activists and right-wing pundits that among the worries associated with the “border kids”—the estimated 52,000 children and teenagers who have crossed the U.S.-Mexico border in the last year or so—was that they carried communicable diseases. “How original” was probably my first thought. It’s been a week since Sen. Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) won the Mississippi Republican primary, but not if you ask Chris McDaniel. The failed Senate challenger hasn’t conceded to the six-term incumbent, and shows no signs of doing so anytime soon. Instead, the state senator is looking into legal routes to challenge the 6,693-vote margin he says was orchestrated through, at best, illegitimate voter targeting, and at worst through illegal vote-buying. Mississippi has no statute to force a recount, so McDaniel’s only recourse to challenge the outcome of an election that conservatives have widely panned is through legal means. He and his supporters

Ex-Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner tried to audit Republican Sen. Grassley made it more difficult for the IRS and DOJ to work together to target conservative groups by blocking Obama’s political appointee Mary L. Smith from taking over the DOJ Tax Division, which prosecutes criminal cases for the IRS. Grassley held up the nomination in early 2010, just as Lerner and fellow IRS officials were mapping out their targeting strategy. The White House later withdrew
