Fifteen Things You Probably Do
Not Know about Psychopaths

American Thinker, by James G. Long

Original Article

Have you ever worked for someone who you seriously thought might be crazy? About half of all workers have such an experience within a lifetime. The other half misses out on one of life´s most perplexing and educational opportunities. The subject is psychopathy. Knowledge and understanding of psychopathy is now advancing, and at an accelerating rate, after a decades-long period of no growth and slow growth. Good thing! Psychopathy is the very worst mental disorder; psychopathy and related conditions have cost millions of lives lost and trillions of dollars wasted, though it is still very poorly understood by most people.

Comments:
Highly amusing to apply this to our political leadership, starting with BO

It´s actually part of the job description. Plus this: FTA "There is another possible factor relating to an outsider status. Napoleon was not French, but Corsican. Lenin was not Russian, but Kalmyk and Turkic. Stalin was not Russian, but Georgian. And Hitler was not German, but Austrian." And 0 is not American....he is?

With all due respect OP, highly amusing?? I find nothing amusing about it. I have said repeatedly that Obama is a psychopath with severe delusions of grandeur. That´s a horrific combination when he unleashes his unbridled power. He continually behaves as though he is a dictator, not an American president. He absolutely terrifies me because we have two more years of him to continue to wreak havoc on this country, destroy us and no one is stopping him.

Good article explaining psychopathy, and it´s repercussions. Bernie Madoff is probably a psychopath. Chairman Mao too.

Not mentioned: some psychopaths can be happy with little or no human interaction. Others can be relatively benign (I M Thomas).

The same damage can be the result of malignant narcissism.

The behavior pattern is akin to a schoolyard bully. Just less obvious.

Human history is littered with patent psychopaths. Without them, we would probably never have left the tree tops. I have known both the destructive and the benevolent types of psychopaths. My training sergeant in the U.S. Army airborne school was definately a vicious psychopath (at least I thought so at the time he was "training" me to jump out of airplanes, land and then kill people). Others, like Hitler, Stalin and their ilk, brought their nations to the peak of world power. Destructive? It depends on how you define that word. Think about it, If Hitler had been assassinated about 1938, Germany might have returned to a democratic state, strong, well thought of and a certain bulwark against infiltrating communism...that might have been a good thing. So, I think the task of normal people is to identify the nuts among us and simply eradicate them or contin them at just the right moment. It´s when they get beyond control that they go totally destructive. I know that when I went to war in Viet Nam, the one "psychopath" I would have wanted by my side was Sergeant Ibanez from my old Airborne Training days....He was one tough soldier.

My mother was diagnosed as having "psychopathic personality disorder", so I am very familiar with this. However, I think the diagnosis is much too wide and needs sub-categories. I. M. Thomas prefers to be called a sociopath, i.e. a non-criminal variant of psychopath, who functions well in society. The psychopath most like my mother in politics is Bill Clinton. If BO is diagnosable as a psychopath, it is a different strain who does not keep up pretenses and charm people. Clinton could charm even his opponents. I would suspect that his problem is rather different.

Yeah, well, human behavior is very complicated, and individual humans vary in a million big and little ways. There are no "bright lines" that distinguish the psychopath. This is a case where it is possible that there are neurological markers, that 95% of "psychpaths" would have and only 5% of "normal" people would not, activity of the whatever section of the brain. But neurologicaly normal people can sometimes learn to be just as nuts as the brain-damaged types.

In fact all the leading Democrats today are clearly acting psychopathically because they think it APPEALS to their voters. Well, you do have to be a little nuts, to volunteer to be a major political player.

I think the very term "psychopath" is misleading.
It´s time to stop pretending that evil is a mental illness.
Do any of us believe that people like Obama, Hillary, Putin are incapable of controlling their own actions?

The terms psychopath, sociopath, malignant narcissistic personality disorder are just Psychology Speak for Evil SOB.

Anthony Cumia gets attacked all the time: Most often for telling the truth about black crime and violence that is stratospherically out of proportion. And how reporters condone it.
