EPA Chief: Costly ´Clean
Power Plan´ Gives Americans
´More Opportunities to Reduce Waste´

Cybercast News Service, by Susan Jones

Sure, the EPA´s new pollution rules will raise the cost of electricity, forcing many Americans to use less of it. But don´t think of it as a price hike. "It´s actually about providing (Americans) more opportunities to reduce waste," EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy told Congress on Wednesday. Under the EPA´s demand-reduction scenario, Americans can retrofit their homes and buy more energy-efficient appliances, she said. This, in turn, will create jobs in government-approved industries. The sweeping EPA plan announced earlier this month sets carbon-reduction targets for each state, then allows states to decide how to meet those targets,

Thief says she´s doing us a favor because now, we´re less attached to the material belongings she stole. Plus, she´s liberated us to seek out costly substitutes for the nice things we once had; a double bonus because it´s fun to shop and it stimulates the economy.

Meanwhile, bet your bottom dollar this high-salary "lady" keeps her thermostat set at whatever she wants, lights ablaze whenever, etc., just like AlGor and the pResident do.

#1, you may well qualify for a voucher, so someone else can pay. Same logic used in Barrycare; make it ruinously expensive, then solve the problem by robbing Peter to pay Paul. Main objective being to kill Peter, then leave Paul in rags, while they strut in their finery.

This country has seven sources of energy.

Why on earth do we need a government controlled, mandated, and taxed form of energy???

The EPA just lost before the Supreme Court. They can no longer force the reduction of CO2 at an existing plant, unless the plant is seeking a modification that would expand the emissions of one of the conventionally regulated pollutants. If a coal plant makes an upgrade that reduces its NO2, its SO2, its particulate and its HAPS, such that it no longer needed to be monitored under the conventional pollutants of the CAA, I can´t see them needing to take special action to me a CO2 standard. What this says is that Coal Plants can be modified to add natural gas and make them combined cycle power plants. Although this would cost some money, there would be very real energy efficiency payoffs and increased flexibility to adjust the ratio of coal to natural gas as prices change. There would be a dramatic reduction in NO2 and SO2 as well as a drop in particulate. Most important the plant would be grandfathered and not subject to an every couple of year adjustment of the EPA´s "Best Practice" standard.

Where in the world do they get the idea that we "waste" our energy now? Maybe those who already get all their funds from gov´t fail to pay attention to the costs of goods - but those of us who work and pay our own bills are mostly naturally frugal. We know the value of things because we work for it! And I might add, that as soon as we all lower our use of electricity or other energies, that supplying entity must RAISE it´s prices to continue to meet their own financial obligations. Dollar wise, we will SAVE nothing.

But no matter what its fate, the hard truth is that the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, which once netted tens of millions of dollars annually from The Meadowlands Racetrack and Giants Stadium, will likely be a lingering financial liability for state taxpayers. A series of decisions by officials over time have left it marooned, with significant structural costs and little means to pay for them

Today, the Supreme Court ruled in the nationally followed Hobby Lobby case. The for-profit corporations that brought these cases to the Supreme Court—a craft store and a cabinet manufacturer—argued that the corporations’ religious convictions should excuse them from compensating their employees through the comprehensive health insurance required by law. Specifically, these private employers sought to exclude insurance coverage of several forms of birth control because, contrary to medical and scientific evidence, the corporations’ owners believe some birth control causes abortions. The Affordable Care Act already includes special arrangements for houses of worship and religious non-profits, like schools and hospitals. Houses
