Chris McDaniel not ready to concede, may

LAUREL, Mississippi -- Defeated Tea Party U.S. Senate candidate Chris McDaniel issued a statement Wednesday afternoon indicated a challenge of Tuesday night´s results from his Republican runoff with Sen. Thad Cochran was still a possibility. "The conservative movement is alive in Mississippi," McDaniel said. "The Republicans who voted last night made it clear they´re looking for conservative change in Mississippi. "But the results also tell another story," McDaniel continued. "They tell the story of some members of our party who are willing to engage in tactics unbecoming of the party of Ronald Reagan. It´s no wonder so many conservatives don´t feel welcome

Headline is trying to be cute, obscuring the real issue. The point is not whether McDaniel voted lawfully in a Dem primary 11 years ago, but whether the GOP-enticed gimme voters also voted in the Dem primary 3 weeks ago. The latter would be against the rules, and knowing the tradition of lighthearted Dem hijinks at the polling place, that would not surprise me one bit.

This has been out there since last fall. He also didn´t vote at all in 2004. I agree with #3. It doesn´t take away from the fact Cochran won because Democrats voted for him in the primary with no intention of voting for him in the general. What happened Tuesday night was a disgrace.

Lots of ads and "write-in". He might not win, but it would make for a messy election. As it is now, both parties are on "auto pilot" in Mississippi.

Voting documents show that McDaniel did vote in the 2003 Democrat primary
instead of the Republican primary.
He did not vote in the 2004
or 2012 presidential election.
McDaniel was part of the Reform Party of Mississippi in 2007 and the Constitution Party in 2012.
If the Tea Party despises the Republican Party so much ,
why do Tea Party candidates always
run as Republicans ?
Politico had an investigative report on how each campaign
reacted after the June 4 tie.
The Cochran campaign had many volunteers who knocked on 50,000 doors and made thousands of
phone calls in all communities ,
in the past 3 weeks.
McDaniel did not do that .
According to Politico, his GOTV was disorganized and
his campaign was haphazard and uncoordinated.
The Bret Favre ad for Cochran was apparently very influential.
McDaniel had silly ads about farm animals and somehow blaming Cochran for Gitmo.
The Cochran campaign did not put out the anti tea party flyers , that was done by some local black minister.
Cochran is well liked by many Mississippians ,
both black and white.
He´s an old school courtly gentleman.
There is some confusion as to whether write in candidates are actually permitted in
Mississippi elections.
If McDaniel wanted to run as an Independent , he needed to file by January 31.
Miss voters do not declare party affiliations when they vote , so it´s impossible
to tell precisely how many Democrats voted for Cochran or for McDaniel.
Democrats voted in the open Cantor / Brat primary and the NYT estimated that many voted for Brat.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. kept a list of dozens of women filed under the letter “G” in his cellphone, a code that his late wife believed stood for “goomah,” the Italian slang for mistress. Two of the women listed in this digital blackbook factor into what should be an interesting summer for the environmental activist and son of the slain US senator. The first is “Curb Your Enthusiasm” actress Cheryl Hines, whom Kennedy began dating the year they both filed for divorce. The two plan to wed soon. A huge question in Democratic politics - other than “When is Hillary going to announce?” - concerns whether or not Senator Elizabeth Warren (D – Cherokee Nation) will run for president. If Hillary does not run, it is almost certain that Warren will. Well-known for her populist and Occupy-esque perspectives on healthcare, taxes, income redistribution and everything in-between, she is one of the rising stars of the Democratic party. Anticipating that it could happen, we’re getting out in front and establish her as a storyteller, to put it nicely, about her wealth.

The Obama administration estimates it will catch 90,000 illegal immigrant children by the end of the current budget year in September. Last year, fewer than 2,000 children were returned home to their native countries. Only 1 in 45 illegal alien children will be returned home. Clogged courts mean young immigrants face low odds of being sent back to their home countries. The Wall Street Journal reported: Thousands of children from Central America are undertaking a perilous journey to the U.S. border despite warnings from the U.S. that they will be sent back. In fact, many will get to stay. Data from immigration courts, along

One side effect from the chaos in Libya following the armed conflict in 2011 has been constant disruptions of the country’s considerable supplies to the global oil market. But while its output remains just a fraction of what it was under Qaddafi, it does seem to be rebounding recently, as Bloomberg reports: Libya pumped 300,000 barrels a day in June, down 73 percent from a year earlier, according to a Bloomberg survey of oil companies, producers and analysts. Output has risen to 350,000 barrels a day, National Oil Corp. spokesman Mohamed Elharari said by phone yesterday. This recent rebound notwithstanding, risks abound

Ted Cruz of Texas, Rand Paul of Kentucky, and Marco Rubio of Florida blame Obama, there are differences among their critiques. What is happening at the southern border is a true and actual crisis. News accounts justly use words like chaos, collapse and breakdown. They feature images of children—toddlers, 4- and 5-year-olds—being shuffled to warehouse holding centers, sleeping crowded at night on what look like pallets, covered only in Mylar blankets. "I never thought we´d have refugee camps in America," said Texas Sen. John Cornyn, "but that´s what it´s appearing." All this gives normal people a feeling of besiegement and foreboding. Is a nation without borders a nation? Washington´s leaders seem to recognize what´s happening as a political problem, not a real

The facts are simple. The IRS systematically targeted conservative and Tea Party groups after their activism proved decisive in the 2010 midterm elections—Obama’s famous “shellacking.” The effects of this targeting were widespread. Some Tea Party groups were neutered in the months before the 2012 presidential election. Few of the explanations or justifications of this targeting provided by IRS leaders and Obama administration officials have held up. IRS officials at first denied that any targeting had taken place. That was false. They later claimed that the targeting had involved only low-level employees in the Cincinnati office. That was false. They argued
