A Heartbreaking Unspoken
Consequence of Obama

American Thinker, by Lloyd Marcus

Original Article

Posted By:magnante, 6/26/2014 6:46:04 AM

Decades of socialist/progressive indoctrination in our schools, media, and culture, plus six years of Obama, have yielded a devastating unspoken consequence. It is the loss of who we use to be as Americans. In his 1961 Inaugural Address, President John F. Kennedy said, “My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” Democrats have perverted Kennedy´s inspiring challenge. Their dispiriting goal is to have as many Americans as possible controlled by and dependent on government, even for life itself, which is at the root of ObamaCare.

They vote to keep it going! SLAVE MENTALITY.

Interesting that, I´m quite sure, many of the Kennedy lovers are also Obama lovers, even though Obama´s political views are almost the exact opposite of Kennedy´s.

You live on the 5th floor. You know it is better for you to walk to your apartment/condo. Yet you take the elevator. Faced with working for a living or getting a check from the government, which will most choose? The more government takes from us the more it will do what comes naturally: buy votes.

It is hard to argue with the democrat´s success.

We must argue the point #5. The good and decent people of this nation must move forward to stop the destruction of the country and the last best hope for mankind. We must also pray fervently for the Lord´s guidance and assistance in this dire state of our country. This man is but a puppet. If Soros is the one calling the shots we must learn his psychological tendencies. What is the path he has seen and experienced because he is surely using lessons learned. He is obviously on some kind of mission, evil as it is. He tried to take down the bank of England. Why did he fail? What is it that he´s doing differently now? Why is this Congress so afraid? We need tactical thinkers to find a way out of this mess - NOW!!

What a talented man. Watched his "We Are Americans" video and it brought tears to my eyes, because...

My heart aches for my America, when character, excellence, and hard work were rewarded, celebrated, and respected.

I hear you. America´s entire profile has changed for the worse. But America seems to be waking up from her anesthesia. Having had her Constitution and her honor gland removed by Obama & Co., she seems to be on the mend. Or so I´d like to believe.

But this disease is so serious, that it has defaced and rotted the very heart of America - the American spirit. This disease will be fatal without divine intervention. It has spread too far.

Without a revolution, which is unlikely due to lack of courage and incentive on the part of too many Americans, we are circling the drain. The generations that cared are dying out. The takers are on the ascendency.

God help us.

While I much agree with Marcus, what is missing from his piece is an acknowledgement of another consequence of progressivism - the replacement of belief in the Creator by obeyance to the State.

Bless you Mr. Marcus, you are a great American.

One of the manifestations of the entitlement mindset that I find most harmful is the distortion of what is a "right." Now in Detroit its water. Our founders definition of unalienable rights pass any time or situational logic test. If I have a "right" to fresh water without paying for it then wouldn´t that require a right to be a slave owner? While I sit on my ample backside demanding my right to water someone else must therefore fetch it for me. What about their rights to do as they wish? Who are the fetchers and who are the ones with the right to be served? If healthcare is a "right" who must provide it to those imposing their right to be served with nothing in return? These distortions by implication are arguments for slavery. The stark reality of any entitlement is that one citizen must work more for less to provide for another. What are the justifications for deciding who gives and who takes?

We need talented people to focus on the role of the media in shaping and maintaining a mindset that enables government to take more and more control of our lives. How is it that we have come to tolerate dishonesty and deceit to the degree we now see? What accounts for the apathy that surrounds this question?

I posted this on the Hillary secret deal thread but it is also appropriate here:

I am m reading William Manchester´s autobiography, Goodbye, Darkness (published 1978), of his years as a US Marine fighting in the Pacific Islands Campaign of World War II. I quote:

"The US was a different country then, with half today´s population, a lordly father figure in the White House, and a tightly disciplined society. A counterculture didn´t exist, as a word or as a concept... Standards were rigid; everyone was determined to conform because to them the alternatives were unthinkable. Girls who became pregnant or boys who cheated on exams were expelled from school and cast into outer darkness."

It´s shocking to me that so many people commenting here think that Kennedy and Obama have opposite views. In fact, Kennedy is responsible for most of where we are today and Obama is only benefiting from Kennedy´s foundation.

Kennedy signed an order allowing federal workers to unionize, he was responsible for the Bay of Pigs and communism´s continued growth south of our border, the debacle of Vietnam War, the Berlin Wall and worst of all, he was responsible for the socialist cult of personality that confuses the president in the public´s mind with rock stars.

Senator Thad Cockroach´s dirty win tells us all we need to know about the GOP, a sham party that has done almost nothing to slow the march of totalitarian socialism. Our illegitimate political system can do nothing but grease the skids for America´s slide to perdition. Reform cannot begin until the federal government finally loses the ability to borrow money, and when printing money will no longer prop up the fake prosperity that borrowing created.

What is so frightening about all of this is what we here at LCom know full well. The collapse of the USA when it gets to the point that there are more takers than givers. (Although "givers" is more like hold-up victums). When that happens, complete anarchy will rule the day, from coast to coast. And it will be instigated by the takers that are no longer getting their freebies, as is their "right".

Is there anyone else ready to use our 2nd Amendment rights? I am.

The conservative commentators who advocated a “path to citizenship” after the 2012 election bear partial blame for the current wave of illegal immigrants from Central America. Many of those who advocated for amnesty following the 2012 election are now complaining that people indeed came expecting that amnesty. But there is also an unbelievably bad policy at the root of the problem. The William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008 is the awful piece of legislation that is allowing tens of thousands of illegal aliens to be released and remain in America while awaiting “deportation hearings” that we all
