Be In Either Dallas or Cleveland

The Republican National Committee has selected Cleveland and Dallas as finalists to host the 2016 Republican National Convention. Denver and Kansas City were eliminated. RNC Site Selection Committee Chairwoman Enid Mickelsen issued a statement: “After extensive review the site selection committee has chosen Cleveland and Dallas as finalists for the 2016 convention. Cleveland and Dallas demonstrated their ability to host a phenomenal convention in 2016, and the RNC is excited about the prospect of hosting our convention in either of these great cities. After visiting both cities, I can say to my fellow Republicans that we should be excited for

Go to Cleveland and generate some goodwill. We need Ohio in 2016. The Dems went to Charlotte in ´12, they carried North Carolina in November.

Cleveland -

According to the 2010 census, Cleveland had a population of 396,815 and the racial and ethnic composition was as follows:

Black or African American: 53.3%
White: 37.3% (33.4% Non-Hispanic Whites)
Asians: 1.8% (0.7% Chinese, 0.4% Indian, 0.2% Vietnamese, 0.2% Filipino)
Native American: 0.3% ( a community of a few thousand Cuyahoga Indians live in the city´s West side).[citation needed]
Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islanders: 0.01%
Two or more races: 2.8%
Some other race: 4.5%
Hispanic and Latino Americans of any race: 10.0% (7.4% Puerto Rican, 0.9% Mexican, 0.3% Dominican, 0.2% Guatemalan, 0.2% Salvadoran)

Dallas -

As of the census of 2010, the racial makeup of Dallas was 50.7% White, 25.0% Black or African American, 0.5% Native American, 2.9% Asian, 0.1% Pacific Islander, 17.2% from other races, and 2.7% from two or more races. 42.4% of the population was Hispanic or Latino of any race. Non Hispanic whites made up 28.8% of the city of Dallas. Hispanics outnumbered blacks for the first time in the 2000 census as the largest minority group in Dallas.

The city has historically been predominately white but its population diversified as it grew in size and importance over the 20th century. Almost 25% of Dallas´ population is foreign born.[3] The largest minority group in the city are Hispanics and Latinos—Dallas is a major destination for Mexican immigrants seeking opportunity in the United States because of its relative proximity to the U.S.-Mexico border. The southwest area of the city, especially Oak Cliff, is predominately or completely Hispanic. The southern and southeastern areas of the city, especially Pleasant Grove and South Dallas, are predominately black. The northern and eastern parts of the city are mostly white and the northwestern portion of the city is home to a fairly equal mix of Hispanics, blacks and Asians.

While I´m not enamored of the idea of having that circus here, the city´s monumental inferiority complex would be greatly helped by it.

That being said, our city gov´t should be rooting for Dallas for the RINO´s, as there´s no way that they´ll have both in the same state.

Sorry to any Ohio residents, but I consider many of their cities to be crime ridden and wouldn´t want to send my worst enemy there. Why the RNC was considering a few of their cities is beyond me.
They want too many handouts in Ohio to ever vote GOP. Their Governor even expanded Medicaid against the wishes of their legislature to win re-election.
Dallas is a city people want to visit, Cleveland never.

Is the new definition of "carrying the state" losing its electoral votes as Obama did in NC in 2012? Sometimes it is good to check your facts before making factual statements to support your preferred argument.

Additionally, does carrying the state also now mean that the opposition party elected a new governor and increased their majorities in both houses of state government to increased the size of its majorities to exceed the three-fifths number of elected members required for a super-majority. Because that also happened the year the Democrats had their convention in NC, 2012. Carrying the state apparently doesn´t mean what it used to mean, but by all means pander to Cleveland in the hopes of carrying the state of Ohio just like Obama did in NC.

Today, the Supreme Court ruled in the nationally followed Hobby Lobby case. The for-profit corporations that brought these cases to the Supreme Court—a craft store and a cabinet manufacturer—argued that the corporations’ religious convictions should excuse them from compensating their employees through the comprehensive health insurance required by law. Specifically, these private employers sought to exclude insurance coverage of several forms of birth control because, contrary to medical and scientific evidence, the corporations’ owners believe some birth control causes abortions. The Affordable Care Act already includes special arrangements for houses of worship and religious non-profits, like schools and hospitals. Houses
