Shaheen support, ties to breast
cancer research scrutinized

Boston Globe, by Noah Bierman & Todd Wallack

Senator Jeanne Shaheen has been a strong advocate for spending government money to fight breast cancer. The New Hampshire Democrat has signed letters since she entered the Senate five years ago seeking $150 million to maintain a Defense Department breast cancer research program — despite objections by some other lawmakers — and last year, she endorsed an initiative to “end breast cancer” by 2020. But Shaheen has also had a family financial stake in the research. In 2009, her husband, William, became an adviser to a Southern California startup, Ultrawave Labs Inc., that was developing new imaging technology to detect

Shaheen is also pro-abortion. You have to wonder if one of the 50 million aborted babies might have been the one to find a cure for breast cancer.

I think there is a connection between abortion and breast cancer. Which is not to say that every woman who has had breast cancer has had an abortion.

Regardless of one´s views on abortion, pro-choice or pro-life, it is utterly offensive to both women and men (yes, men can get breast cancer) who have suffered, endured and died of breast cancer to equate abortion with cancer.

With the exception of abortions that are required to save a mother´s life, NO ONE elects or chooses to get cancer.

I live with a cancer patient that I have taken care of him for years and he did not choose to get cancer.

Is breast cancer some type of secret weapon that the Defense Department should be funding?
No. It is the typical Dem M.O. of adding an amendment to the DoD budget to siphon funding to a non-defense pet project.
In this case, that siphoning directly benefits Shaheen.

JACKSON — State Sen. Chris McDaniel, still refusing to give up his challenge to incumbent U.S. Sen. He said many of those “were unquestionably cast by voters ineligible to participate in the June 24th runoff election” that McDaniel lost to Cochran McDaniel promised a Wednesday news conference “to discuss the evidence we have documented and our next steps.” McDaniel has said before he intends to file a legal challenge to the June 24 election where Cochran defeated him by 194,932

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. kept a list of dozens of women filed under the letter “G” in his cellphone, a code that his late wife believed stood for “goomah,” the Italian slang for mistress. Two of the women listed in this digital blackbook factor into what should be an interesting summer for the environmental activist and son of the slain US senator. The first is “Curb Your Enthusiasm” actress Cheryl Hines, whom Kennedy began dating the year they both filed for divorce. The two plan to wed soon. The other is Greenwich, Conn., homemaker Chelsea Chapman Kirwan, who has been romantically linked to

A huge question in Democratic politics - other than “When is Hillary going to announce?” - concerns whether or not Senator Elizabeth Warren (D – Cherokee Nation) will run for president. If Hillary does not run, it is almost certain that Warren will. Well-known for her populist and Occupy-esque perspectives on healthcare, taxes, income redistribution and everything in-between, she is one of the rising stars of the Democratic party. Anticipating that it could happen, we’re getting out in front and establish her as a storyteller, to put it nicely, about her wealth.

The Obama administration estimates it will catch 90,000 illegal immigrant children by the end of the current budget year in September. Last year, fewer than 2,000 children were returned home to their native countries. Only 1 in 45 illegal alien children will be returned home. Clogged courts mean young immigrants face low odds of being sent back to their home countries. The Wall Street Journal reported: Thousands of children from Central America are undertaking a perilous journey to the U.S. border despite warnings from the U.S. that they will be sent back. In fact, many will get to stay. Data from immigration courts, along

One side effect from the chaos in Libya following the armed conflict in 2011 has been constant disruptions of the country’s considerable supplies to the global oil market. But while its output remains just a fraction of what it was under Qaddafi, it does seem to be rebounding recently, as Bloomberg reports: Libya pumped 300,000 barrels a day in June, down 73 percent from a year earlier, according to a Bloomberg survey of oil companies, producers and analysts. Output has risen to 350,000 barrels a day, National Oil Corp. spokesman Mohamed Elharari said by phone yesterday. This recent rebound notwithstanding, risks abound

What is happening at the southern border is a true and actual crisis. News accounts justly use words like chaos, collapse and breakdown. They feature images of children—toddlers, 4- and 5-year-olds—being shuffled to warehouse holding centers, sleeping crowded at night on what look like pallets, covered only in Mylar blankets. "I never thought we´d have refugee camps in America," said Texas Sen. John Cornyn, "but that´s what it´s appearing." All this gives normal people a feeling of besiegement and foreboding. Is a nation without borders a nation? Washington´s leaders seem to recognize what´s happening as a political problem, not a real

Sarah Palin wants to impeach Barack Obama. In an op-ed article published last week, the former Republican vice presidential nominee declared that the crisis on the southern border (where young illegal immigrants are being detained) "is the last straw that makes the battered wife say, ´No, mas´." The Republican Speaker of the House, John Boehner, thinks that´s loco. (Technically, he said, "I disagree".) For Republicans hoping to avoid the kind of drama that might derail what looks to be a very good midterm election year, this kind of call is both a nuisance and a trend. Glenn Beck has set up Mercury One Children and Family Border Relief Fund to help illegals coming into the United States. He’s already raised $600,000. Beck stated that Obama would not have to step in and ask for $3.7 billion if private charities would pick up the slack and give to the swarm of illegals crossing the border. Is he kidding? Do we really need more churches and non-profits enabling this blatant attack on America? Rich people and liberal elite billionaires have no skin in the game when it comes to the consequences of illegal immigration so what do they care? It’s the working class and middle class who will take the hit.
