Here Comes the Hardest
Part About Obamacare

National Journal, by Ron Fournier

Original Article

So you thought Obamacare was implemented, the controversy over? Wrong. Buckle up, here comes the "employer mandate." For people like me who want the Affordable Care Act to work but who worry about the Obama administration´s management record, this story in the Washington Post is foreboding: "Businesses Gear Up for Employer Mandate." Author Sandhya Somashekhar opens with a vignette about Kevin Settles, a forward-looking restaurateur who offered health insurance to dozens of employees in September to comply with the ACA in advance of the mandate. The employer mandate requires companies with 50 or more full-time workers to offer health insurance or pay

Burwell she who was head of Budget and Management and said during the hearing that the funding of ACA was not part of her perview! What part of budget does she not get?

Her record is one of the blue card, moved through various chairs and on to the next never in a place long enough to either take credit or blame. The ACA failed when
ACA act with the very first mandate that was eliminated that was Long Term Care for nursing home care! Many elderly voted for Obama for this feature!

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi will travel to the southern border of the U.S. on Saturday to be briefed by Customs and Border Protection on the flood of unaccompanied minors entering the country. The California Democrat will also meet with a group of children held at the South Texas Detention Facility. “The humanitarian crisis unfolding across our nation’s southern border demands Congress come together and find thoughtful, compassionate and bipartisan solutions,” Pelosi said. “We must ensure our laws are fully enforced, so that due process is provided to unaccompanied children and the safety and well-being of unaccompanied children is protected. Michelle Obama took some heat in 2008 for saying that, "for the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country..." As it turns out, that sentiment isn´t all that unusual on the far left of American politics. According to a new Pew Research Center study, only 40 percent of consistently liberal Americans say they often feel proud to be Americans. The other 60 percent say that doesn´t describe them. The finding is contained in Pew´s new "Political Typology" report, which breaks Americans down into seven different categories -- rather than the usual three. Among the seven categories, "solid liberals"

The FBI has seized 80,000 potentially damning emails from Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp., giving the media titan worries on both sides of the Atlantic in the ongoing phone hacking scandal. While Murdoch was in London on Thursday facing the fallout from the conviction of one of his former star editors, it was disclosed in the U.S. that the FBI took and shared the mountain of emails with British prosecutors. The emails, all copied from servers at News Corp.’s Midtown headquarters, include messages Rebekah Brooks, Murdoch’s former protégé, sent up the chain of command during the height of the phone-hacking scandal, The Daily

A three-course lunch hosted by an eccentric Chinese millionaire for 250 homeless New Yorkers in a posh restaurant degenerated into fury when guests were denied $300 cash handouts. It had seemed such a good idea. Recycling tycoon Chen Guangbiao last week took out ads in American newspapers promising a first-rate meal at the Boathouse in Central Park and $300 each. Guests were bused in and treated to a sit-down meal of seared tuna, filet mignon and seasonal berries, waited on by staff in suits and bow ties, but anger flared over the cash no-show.

The 83-year-old was pictured reading a copy of his "The Sun" newspaper as he made his way to the company´s Wapping headquarters in a Range Rover, ITV News reported. His arrival in the UK follows the conviction of former News of The World editor Andy Coulson, 46, for phone hacking on Tuesday. Ex-News International chief executive Rebekah Brooks, 46, was cleared of all charges - including phone hacking and bribery - following the 8-month trial.

The Carving Up of Diane Sawyer’s Job:

By the time she announced yesterday that she was stepping down as ABC’s evening news anchor, Diane Sawyer had become the queen of the big flashy interview. Both Chris Christie and Hillary Clinton chose her for their first sitdown at high-pressure moments—Christie as he was battling the Bridgegate allegations, Clinton as she was kicking off her book-slash-campaign tour. And Sawyer, with her disarming style, got both of them to commit candor, not an easy thing to achieve with programmed politicians. In an era when network anchors are often accused of leaning left, Sawyer had the distinction of once working for Richard Nixon,

By her own admission, Hillary Clinton would have to be crazy to run for president in 2016, which many believe the former first lady will do. In an interview with PBS’s Gwen Ifill which airs Wednesday night, Clinton was asked about a quote her husband, Bill Clinton, made during his 1992 presidential campaign when he said that the definition of “insanity” is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. “You have to be a little bit crazy to run for president, let me just put it like that,” Clinton said. That’s the second time in four days that a major foreign official has accused Obama’s America of being a fickle, disengaged ally. Thoughtfully considering the Kurds’ offer and declining so as not to get sucked back into Iraq would be one thing, but that’s not what happened according to Barzani. Apparently, we simply didn’t respond. The Kurds became especially alarmed at signs that ISIS had already formed a shadow government in Mosul, weeks before initiating the carefully

President Obama is now reaching terminal velocity, like a skydiver plunging toward earth. Except he doesn’t have a parachute. There’s a mighty splat coming soon. With his approval rating at 40 percent, down 6 points from early June, and just 29 percent of Americans convinced the country is on the “right track,” the president is doubling down on his strategy of blaming Republicans for his failures. And he’s shifting into hyperpartisan drive, traveling the country to campaign for Democrats, many of whom wish he’d just stay away. Worse, the news just keeps getting well, worse: The Veterans Affairs scandal is blazing, with

Lois Lerner, the controversial director of the tax-exempt organizations division at the Internal Revenue Service, has a long sordid history of targeting conservatives. Under the direction of Lois Lerner, the Federal Election Commission sued the Christian Coalition in the 1990s. She harassed the Christian Coalition for three election cycles. Eventually, she lost her case. At one point Lerner even asked a targeted conservative if Pat Robertson prayed over him. (Sound familiar?) In 1996, while at the FEC, Lois Lerner harassed Republican Senate candidate Al Salvi and made him this outrageous offer, “Promise me you will never run for office again, and

Ordinarily, President Obama’s days are planned out to the smallest detail. But for his two-day excursion to Minnesota this week, the president boasted that he’s got little in the way of a formal agenda, has few firm plans, and warned Secret Service that he’s feeling “super loose” and could end up doing any number of things. “I don’t know. Republicans are in the strongest position to win back the Senate since losing it eight years ago. Over several months, the party has expanded its range of targeted seats, and the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) has helped defeat insurgents it didn’t want representing the GOP in the midterm elections. This sober realization came to Democrats on Wednesday, as Tuesday night’s primary results showed they cannot count on Tea Party candidates upsetting more-electable incumbents. And Democrats are increasingly realizing that President Obama’s approval rating will probably remain mired at 45 percent or lower until

A shocking new report from the Center for Immigration Studies claims to prove that every single new job created in America for the last fourteen years has gone to immigrants, legal and illegal. This would fly in the face of those who claim that immigration is an economic boon to native born Americans: The CIS report found that over the last 14 years, people who were born in the United States held 114.8 million jobs in 2000, and held 114.7 million jobs in 2014, a drop of 127,000.
