Scarborough Savages NYT For Burying
IRS Email Scandal: ‘This Is A Scam!’

Daily Caller, by Brendan Bordelon

MSNBC’S Joe Scarborough angrily denounced The New York Times for burying a new story on the Treasury’s internal investigation over the lost IRS emails, calling it a “scam” and explaining “this is why conservatives don’t trust print media.” Co-host Mika Brzezinski had just wrapped up explaining another possible scandal for New Jersey Republican Governor Chris Christie, involving diverted funds for the Pulaski Skyway, when Scarborough pounced on the newspaper. “Let’s see, so this is the top of The New York Times,” he began. “I’m trying to figure out where the IRS story — is it on the front page? And this surprises exactly who? In other news, Walter Duranty STILL has a Pulitzer Prize (h/t Ann Coulter).

Re-reading William Shirer´s ´Berlin Diary´ the other day; Shirer had an encounter with the nasty Duranty in Poland in 1939. Duranty would only speak Russian to the Poles, and was rudely ordering them all over the place. No doubt imitating his good friend Uncle Joe Stalin.

But with luck it surprised a few Fox watchers and made them think, research, maybe act, help us...

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi will travel to the southern border of the U.S. on Saturday to be briefed by Customs and Border Protection on the flood of unaccompanied minors entering the country. The California Democrat will also meet with a group of children held at the South Texas Detention Facility. “The humanitarian crisis unfolding across our nation’s southern border demands Congress come together and find thoughtful, compassionate and bipartisan solutions,” Pelosi said. “We must ensure our laws are fully enforced, so that due process is provided to unaccompanied children and the safety and well-being of unaccompanied children is protected. Michelle Obama took some heat in 2008 for saying that, "for the first time in my adult life I am proud of my country..." As it turns out, that sentiment isn´t all that unusual on the far left of American politics. According to a new Pew Research Center study, only 40 percent of consistently liberal Americans say they often feel proud to be Americans. The other 60 percent say that doesn´t describe them. The finding is contained in Pew´s new "Political Typology" report, which breaks Americans down into seven different categories -- rather than the usual three. Among the seven categories, "solid liberals"

The FBI has seized 80,000 potentially damning emails from Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp., giving the media titan worries on both sides of the Atlantic in the ongoing phone hacking scandal. While Murdoch was in London on Thursday facing the fallout from the conviction of one of his former star editors, it was disclosed in the U.S. that the FBI took and shared the mountain of emails with British prosecutors. The emails, all copied from servers at News Corp.’s Midtown headquarters, include messages Rebekah Brooks, Murdoch’s former protégé, sent up the chain of command during the height of the phone-hacking scandal, The Daily

A three-course lunch hosted by an eccentric Chinese millionaire for 250 homeless New Yorkers in a posh restaurant degenerated into fury when guests were denied $300 cash handouts. It had seemed such a good idea. Recycling tycoon Chen Guangbiao last week took out ads in American newspapers promising a first-rate meal at the Boathouse in Central Park and $300 each. Guests were bused in and treated to a sit-down meal of seared tuna, filet mignon and seasonal berries, waited on by staff in suits and bow ties, but anger flared over the cash no-show.

The Carving Up of Diane Sawyer’s Job:

By the time she announced yesterday that she was stepping down as ABC’s evening news anchor, Diane Sawyer had become the queen of the big flashy interview. Both Chris Christie and Hillary Clinton chose her for their first sitdown at high-pressure moments—Christie as he was battling the Bridgegate allegations, Clinton as she was kicking off her book-slash-campaign tour. And Sawyer, with her disarming style, got both of them to commit candor, not an easy thing to achieve with programmed politicians. In an era when network anchors are often accused of leaning left, Sawyer had the distinction of once working for Richard Nixon,

By her own admission, Hillary Clinton would have to be crazy to run for president in 2016, which many believe the former first lady will do. In an interview with PBS’s Gwen Ifill which airs Wednesday night, Clinton was asked about a quote her husband, Bill Clinton, made during his 1992 presidential campaign when he said that the definition of “insanity” is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. “You have to be a little bit crazy to run for president, let me just put it like that,” Clinton said. Only 14% of Republicans, 23% of independents, and 27% of Democrats favor increased immigration. Comparisons between Hillary Clinton and Mitt Romney have been greatly exaggerated, Hillary Clinton says. Clinton practically rolled with laughter when PBS’ Gwen Ifill noted humorlessly that her own husband has been “forced” to defend her recent comments about being “dead broke” after leaving the White House. What was humorous in that remarks is known only to Clinton. “I shouldn’t have said the, I think, five or so words that I said,” the former secretary of state said. “My inartful use of those five words doesn’t change who I am.” Later in the interview, Ifill asked if Clinton had become the Democratic adaptation of

Dear Secretary Clinton, Please consider this in the nature of a friendly intervention. You have a money problem. It’s time to deal with it before it gets worse. Actually, you have two money problems. The first is how you talk about it. The second is how you collect it — or, to be more precise, the fact that you’re still frenetically collecting it. Let me be clear at the outset: The issue isn’t that you’re rich, or even that you and your husband became rich after leaving office. What transpired in the Mississippi Senate run-off is a red line for many conservatives across the country, because the Republican Party establishment essentially took a civil war and escalated it to a war for independence. It’s one thing to oppose your base in a primary. It’s entirely another to despicably play the race card against your base, and bolster the legitimacy of the propaganda of our race-baiting opponents on the Left. But that’s exactly what the Kamikaze pilots running the GOP did. As a result, Chris McDaniel won Republican voters handily on Tuesday, but still lost the run-off statewide thanks
