Honolulu Shores Up Tourism
With Crackdown on Homeless

HONOLULU — It was just before 7 a.m. and the streets of Waikiki were filled with tourists, surfers, early morning joggers — and Ronnie Cruz, a 34-year-old homeless man getting a ticket from a Honolulu police officer for pushing a shopping cart piled high with his belongings along the sidewalk. “Happens all the time,” Mr. Cruz said after he made his way to the other side of Kalakaua Avenue. “They won’t let you stand over there.” “I’ve got four of them,” he said, reaching into a billfold as he displayed the tattered tickets." This tourist mecca has had a surge

How many planeloads of Central American children who cross the U.S.- Mexico border are being sent to the Island home of Com. in Chief - BO? Wouldn´t it be FAIR to make available all he had in his life growing up with these poor underprivileged little ones. Which empty building or closed hotel would accommodate a couple thousand of these little darlings? Maybe some day, one of them could become Com. in Chief of this county. We could say with a good amount of certainty, it would not be the first time nor the last. Their MS-13 gang experience, is similar to Chicago politics so they do meet the prerequisite.

First you create and enable them and then you crack down on the monster you created....it´s the liberal way.

There are vagrancy laws on the books along with laws against answering nature´s calls in public.

Just because someone coined the term ´homeless´ doesn´t entitle bums and defilers of public spaces to exemption from the law.

A person robbing a bank may technically be ´moneyless´ but they are not a protected class.

I find it very telling that ultra-leftist hotbeds like Hawaii and San Francisco have such huge contingents of the homeless. So much for liberal compassion.

True story: Several years ago, an initiative was floated to offer the homeless a one-way ticket to the city of their choice on the Mainland. It didn´t get very far.

The problem is not the homeless. It´s the local´s crime against the tourist. Seen it just yesterday at the public beach park. Threat was made against the tourist over a parking stall. Tourist yielded to avoid incident. Minor/soft crimes against the tourist unreported to the police and the media are in the thousands. Eventually, word of mouth will kill their precious travel industry.

Washington, DC - Americans´ confidence in Congress has sunk to a new low. Seven percent of Americans say they have "a great deal" or "quite a lot" of confidence in Congress as an American institution, down from the previous low of 10% in 2013. This confidence is starkly different from the 42% in 1973, the first year Gallup began asking the question. These results come from a June 5-8 Gallup poll that updated Americans´ confidence in 17 U.S. institutions that Americans either read about or interact with in government, business, and society. Americans' current confidence in Congress is not only the lowest on record,

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia faulted Justice Sonia Sotomayor for making what he regards as a "shameful" suggestion that the Michigan voters who decided to ban affirmative action in college admissions were motivated by racism. Scalia wrote a concurring opinion upholding a 2006 ballot initiative that amended Michigan´s constitution to ban affirmative action. “As Justice Harlan observed over a century ago, ´[o]ur Constitution is color-blind, and neither knows nor tolerates classes among citizens,´" Scalia concluded, quoting the dissent in Plessy v. Ferguson. "The people of Michigan wish the same for their governing charter. It would be shameful for us to

A laboratory at Stony Brook University, working with designer Dann Roosegaarde, has developed a glowing plant by merging luciferin–which is the chemical that enables fireflies to glow–with a simple plant. The result is a plant, in dirt, that glows. Naturally. And it is awesome. Roosegaarde, a self-described designer/artist/architect from the Netherlands, pronounced his vision for the future of technology incorporation at the 2014 SXSW in Austin, Texas.

The Keystone Pipeline project was expected to create tens of thousands of high paying jobs in the oil industry. The project itself would create 20,000 construction jobs. And the pipeline would bring oil from Canada and North Dakota to refineries in the United States. The proposed project would have extended from Alberta, Canada to Illinois, transporting approximately 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day. Estimated cost is $1.7 billion. But Obama rejected the plan in 2011 and 2014. Democrats are beholden to the radical green movement – the poor and middle class be damned. Now this… Canada pulled the plug on Keystone and will

Edward Klein’s book about the animosity between the Clintons and Obamas, “Blood Feud” (Regnery Publishing), rocketed up the best-seller charts since it was featured in The Post last Sunday. Here, in another exclusive excerpt, Klein describes how Bill’s health is a preoccupation of the Clintons. A pair of black, armor-plated SUVs swung into a suburban cul-de-sac and crunched to a stop in the driveway of the Clintons’ home in Chappaqua, New York. A wall of burly Secret Service agents jumped out and surrounded the man who emerged from the lead vehicle. It was mid-summer 2013, and Bill Clinton looked shrunken and weary.

As thousands of disease-riddled criminals storm across our borders, is it really time to mince words? President Obama appears to have an Agenda for America that stinks worse than a Border Patrol bus depot crammed with urine-drenched illegals. Is the man trying to protect and defend us, or does he want us to kick the bucket, run down the curtain, and join the choir invisible? On January 29, 2014, the Department of Homeland Security advertised for a vendor to escort 65,000 “unaccompanied alien children,” indicating that they not only knew the alien invasion was coming, they planned it.

Today, the Supreme Court ruled in the nationally followed Hobby Lobby case. The for-profit corporations that brought these cases to the Supreme Court—a craft store and a cabinet manufacturer—argued that the corporations’ religious convictions should excuse them from compensating their employees through the comprehensive health insurance required by law. Specifically, these private employers sought to exclude insurance coverage of several forms of birth control because, contrary to medical and scientific evidence, the corporations’ owners believe some birth control causes abortions. The Affordable Care Act already includes special arrangements for houses of worship and religious non-profits, like schools and hospitals. Houses

I watched The Five discuss the preview of Megyn Kelly’s upcoming Bill Ayers interview. Bob Beckel is still claiming that Obama didn’t know Ayers – “met him once” – and the other four supposedly conservative journalists had nothing to contradict him with! Every reader of AT knows that Ayers and Obama worked together - that Ayers hired Obama for the biggest job of his life before becoming President – handing out $100 million dollars of the Annenberg Challenge grants to radical causes, instead of using it to help Chicago’s schoolchildren. ere is a preview of the interview from Fox: Stanley Kurtz at the Wall St. Journal:

One week after traveling to Mississippi to do his utmost to help Senator Thad Cochran (R) beat Tea Party rival Chris McDaniel, Senator John McCain (R-AZ) talked about the strengths he saw in Cochran´s approach to campaigning. According to AZ Central, McCain dismissed criticism over the tactics the Republican Establishment used to get black Democrats to cross over and vote for Cochran. Said McCain, "There are some people complaining that African-American voters voted. [But] I thought one of the major priorities of the Republican Party was to get all minority and ethnic voters out to vote for Republicans." He described Cochran´s "get-out-the-vote campaign"

The White House says "the constitutional lawyer in the Oval Office disagrees" with the Supreme Court´s decision today on the contraceptive mandate in Obamacare: Well, as the constitutional lawyer who sits in the Oval Office would tell you is, he would read the entire decision before he passed judgment in terms of his own legal analysis. What we have been able to assess so far ... is that there is a problem that has been exposed, which is that there are now a group of women of an indeterminate size who no longer have access to free contraceptive coverage simply

Sasha Obama turned 13 earlier this month, and it seems her father is making every effort to ensure they stay close throughout her teenage years. The President and his younger daughter were pictured on Sunday enjoying a hike at Great Falls Park in McLean, Virginia, with Obama lovingly put an arm around her as they walked through the woods. Meanwhile, Malia - whose 16th birthday is on July 4th - spent the day at Disneyland in Anaheim, California, where she and a friend were given VIP access to many of the park´s rides. For their father-daughter hike, Sasha wore a yellow top and

Despite appalling conditions in the holding pens and warehouses that are now full of Central American children, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi said she was "dazzled" by what she saw at the U.S.-Mexico border on Saturday: "What we just saw was so stunning, if you believe as we do, that every child, every person, has the park of divinity in them, and is therefore worthy of respect, what we saw in those rooms was (a) dazzling, sparkling array of God´s children, worthy of respect." Speaking in Brownsville, Texas, Pelosi used the word "crisis," but then backed off a bit: "So we have to

President Barack Obama announced today that he would again go around Congress to enact immigration reform measures. In a hastily scheduled statement this afternoon from the White House Rose Garden, Obama said he would ´greatly prefer´ Congress passing any sort of immigration reform legislation, even if it wasn´t the bill he supports, but he was done sitting around waiting for that to happen. The president said his administration would ´refocus´ its efforts on the border, and he would use his ´existing legal authority´ to do ´what Congress refuses to do´ and fix the broken immigration system. The President said he

President Obama´s closest advisor, Valerie Jarrett says there´s no way, no how Michelle Obama runs for political office. But will Jarrett? The aide is leaving that possibility open. "I want to talk to you about the future," said the NBC reporter interviewing Jarrett. "Is Michelle Obama going to run for office?" "No," Jarrett said resolutely. "You said that very definitively," the reporter countered. "Well, I´m absolutely, 100 percent positive that that will never happen," Jarrett proclaimed. The reporter prodded, "How about Valerie Jarrett? Will you ever run for office?" "Unlikely," Obama´s adviser said, leaving the door slightly open. "But maybe?"
