Britain and US ´neglected

Telegraph [UK], by Richard Spencer

MI6 and the CIA were handed intelligence outlining the planned takeover of northern Iraq by jihadists and their allies five months ago but the British and American governments failed to act on it, senior officials in Iraq have told The Telegraph. The head of intelligence for the autonomous Kurdish regional government, which has links with the West, said he had repeatedly tried to send warnings both to the central government in Baghdad and to its allies, Britain and America. But despite repeated attempts to impress on Washington and London the seriousness of the unfolding situation, he said there was no

Both just hoped it would be a quick and (for them) painless overthrow. This will empower the UN by ensuring the muslim problem goes on, unsolved, for decades more.

Thus, all the leftists are happy as their guilt opportunities go on as usual.

We seem always to be taken by surprise by these crises. What the heck are we paying these folks for?

The article posits some 4,000 foreign fighters there, some 10% of whom are British citizens who pose a nightmare for the UK when they return. Where is the US media source warning us about our developing nightmares when our US jihadists return? Minnesota and Michigan, take note.

#3, what are we paying all these folks for...very good question. When 9/11 happened, we found out plenty of well-paid national security bureaucrats were caught flat-footed too. Britain is so hopelessly radically left now and tied in political-correctness knots that this is not surprising, however.

Scientists at two of the world’s leading climate centres - NASA and NOAA - have been caught out manipulating temperature data to overstate the extent of the 20th century "global warming". The evidence of their tinkering can clearly be seen at Real Science, where blogger Steven Goddard has posted a series of graphs which show "climate change" before and after the adjustments. When the raw data is used, there is little if any evidence of global warming and some evidence of global cooling. However, once the data has been adjusted - ie fabricated by computer models - 20th century ´global warming´ suddenly

I still think President Barack Obama was born in Hawaii, even though for 14 years he allowed his literary agent to circulate a bio blurb stating he was born in Kenya, and even though for many years he attended a church where his pastor friend shouted such things as “God damn America!” I still think that he just pretended to be Kenyan to be cool, to sell books and, perhaps, to get a foreign student scholarship at those colleges from which he refuses to release his transcripts. There are times that I have senior moments and forget certain names and events but after the recent Obama Iraq war implosion, I´m convinced most political pundits are suffering from them as well. What is unusual is that this revision of history is being committed by conservatives who should know better. Recent commentary by Glenn Beck, George Will and Charles Krauthammer indicate that they have significant memory lapses about why we went to war in Iraq. They now suggest that it was a wrong decision whereas my complaint is that we took too long to invade and oust Saddam Hussein.

The decision this past week by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to rescind federal trademark protections for the Redskins may ultimately tip the balance in the controversy over the 80-year-old name of Washington’s football team. If so, that would be a shame. Not because there’s insufficient reason to consider the name “disparaging to Native Americans,” as the patent office determined. Many of us recoil at the reference to skin color as a team identity. The least loved institution in America today is the U.S. Senate, and one of the reasons it is reviled is a zero-sum approach to women´s medical care. It´s time we changed that and adopt modern policies that make sense instead of using women´s medical issues as an election-year power play. One of the most rational ways for Washington to break this gridlock is to approve oral contraception for over-the-counter purchases by adults. Since "the pill" was first approved 44 years ago, it´s been one of the most proven and tested pharmaceuticals of our time. It is safe, reliable, effective, and presents
