On the IRS Emails, the Plot Thickens
Power Line, by John Hinderaker

Original Article

It has emerged over the last few days that at the time of Lois Lerner’s hard drive crash, the IRS had a contract with a company called Sonasoft (“Email archiving done right.”) Sonasoft promoted its relationship with the IRS in 2009: “If the IRS uses Sonasoft products to backup their servers why wouldn’t you choose them to protect your servers?” So why doesn’t that solve the problem of the missing IRS emails? Because the IRS canceled its contract with Sonasoft in September 2011, a couple of months after Lerner’s hard drive crash. Everyone seems to assume that Sonasoft would have

The Sonasoft contract was canceled in September 2011 but who did the backup of the IRS files after that? That would be good to know and then be able to subpoena their files. Perhaps the new company would have received all the Sonasoft backup files. This is getting sillier by the day. When will someone be honest enough to get to the bottom of this--there must be someone in the IRS who knows what happened and isn´t afraid.
The longer this goes on, more people will suspect the IRS and white house of colluding and it doesn´t bode well for the country.

If you have a contract to back up e-mails, you are committed to keep keep the ones already in your system. Whoever gets the new contract starts with the new e-mails on the start date of th contract. Think of a grain storage facility. You wouldn´t dump the grain when the contract runs out.

So they had backup that is all we need to know. It just makes it worse for the IRS
in that they had missing data and decided
to destroy what they had. So hard drive on
her computer has nothing at all to do
with missing mail. A friend of mine had
thousands of Email dumped to her computer
when the IP she had was bought by another
IP. Years of mail from her old IP was just
sent to her.

Well, it´s perfectly obvious that the Obama administration is lying - yet again. Like Paul Ryan, I don´t believe a thing that IRS commissioner told the House either. This is getting to be a mighty thick "plot." In fact it´s an outrageous scandal that needs to addressed.

The House needs to draft and vote on articles of impeachment so that they will be ready when it becomes unavoidable for the Senate to vote on them. There is already enough for the Senate to convict, even without the mountain of damning evidence that is sure to come. It is now the responsibility of Congress to act; they cannot delay any longer. This scandal has become outrageous - and dangerous to this country and the rule of law.

If the House votes out articles of impeachment, a President is impeached, i.e. accused of high crimes or misdemeanors. Then the Senate holds a trial...and it takes a 2/3 vote of the Senate to convict and remove a President from office.

It is foolish to talk about impeachment unless the Republicans take control of the Senate in November.

And even if we do get a majority, it is unlikely we will get the required 2/3 vote unless at least a few Democrats decide that they are American first and progressive/socialists second.

What is scary is that neither Obama, nor any democratic senator not up for reelection this time seems to give a hoot about public opinion......only logical conclusion is that they expect the country to collapse before 2016.

If "the extent of the cover-up reveals the seriousness of the crime", then the Obama administration is making the Corleones look like pikers. The more breathtakingly brazen the IRS cover-up gets, the more it points straight up to the top.

Even if the GOP doesn´t have the guts to impeach King Barack (though it has far more to work with than Watergate prosecutors ever had) it could at least make sure he goes down as the worst of the lawbreaking, corrupt presidents who´ve sullied American history. That, at least, would be something, and the evidence is there on a golden platter.

Want I want to know is - why are the Republicans acting like they´ve got lard for brains and playing along with this ´dog ate the hard drive and six others that you wanted´ farce when they should be competent enough to know about off site backups and subpoenaed it, along with the original drives, moons ago.

If they are unclued about backups, they all need to be fired now.
They surely are NOT competent enough for anything else.

The Secretary of Homeland Security Jeh Johnson returned to McAllen Monday, one week after his first visit, to declare that the Border Patrol and other supporting federal agencies are doing "heroic" work, given the circumstances. In a brief news conference following a visit to the McAllen Border Patrol station on Military Road, Johnson said that the agency is "keeping an eye on the ball," and securing American borders from an influx of immigrants, particularly coming from Central America. Johnson held his news conference in McAllen moments after President Obama made remarks in the Rose Garden in Washington in which he

The Supreme Court on Monday weakened Obamacare´s controversial contraception mandate, ruling 5-4 that some employers cannot be forced to cover birth control as part of their health insurance plans. The majority opinion, written by conservative Justice Samuel Alito, said such a mandate infringes on religious freedom, and therefore can be waived by certain business owners. But in a blistering, 35-page dissent, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, joined by Justice Sonia Sotomayor, lambasted the majority opinion—delivered by five male justices—as "a decision of startling breadth" that would allow corporations to "opt out of any law … they judge incompatible with their sincerely held

By every account Republicans face a huge disadvantage in comparison to Democrats with the Latino electorate. But a long-term engagement and outreach effort promises to make all the difference, a difference in which Democrats have more to lose and Republicans have much to gain. Even the most novice political observer can see that years of work in Latino communities have paid off for Democrats. Indeed, the party has in some ways enjoyed an open field, and decades of political outreach, presence in the communities and positive brand building around liberal ideas have allowed the party to build a formidable front
