Rand Paul Doesn’t Blame
Obama For Iraq Crisis

Time Magazine, by Zeke J Miller

Original Article

Posted By:EagleEye, 6/22/2014 1:48:37 PM

Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul is firing back at his party’s interventionist wing, saying those who supported the Iraq war “emboldened Iran,” while freeing President Barack Obama of blame for the current crisis in Iraq. (Snip) “And what’s going on now—I don’t blame on President Obama,” Paul said. “Has he really got the solution? Maybe there is no solution. But I do blame the Iraq War on the chaos that is in the Middle East. I also blame those who wer for the Iraq War for emboldening Iran. These are the same people now who are petrified of what Iran may become, and I understand some of their worry.”

Comments:
In essence, Rand Paul is blaming President Bush (conveniently) forgetting the coalition of UN sponsored nations that assisted US. Thankfully, I don´t drink bourbon, but Texas Tea.

He´s pro-amnesty, defends obama, weak with foreign policy (I don´t want troops either, but certainly we could use drones or war planes). The only thing I really agree with him on is taxes and a smaller less intrusive state. Not enough meat on the bone for a meal.

Please remember that Rand Paul is a libertarian. War is only for defense of the homeland. Borders are arbitrary and interfere with freedom. etc. When I hear Rand Paul talk I start to question my libertarian leanings.

Governments have a real purpose. Defend the nation state. It is the nation state that provides the framework for private property and rule of law, but it can be threatened in many ways that require action. Rand Paul is a true libertarian who expects everyone to behave rationally.

I am a libertarian who expects people to behave irrationally and that means a lot of compromise to libertarian principles.

The Obama administration is hoping that 4,000 Hellfire missiles might turn the tide in Iraq as the Middle Eastern nation takes on the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). Officials were told by the State Department last week that the Obama administration is trying to complete the sale with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s Shiite-led government. Members of the Senate and House foreign relations committees will conduct a review of the planned sale. The process can take up to 40 days, Bloomberg News reported Wednesday. “As a matter of policy, we decline to comment on cases that have not been formally notified to Congress,”

A month after Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America targeted Target for letting North Texas open-carriers stroll through the toy section with Oreos and AKs, the Big Box has finally released a statement asking shoppers to leave their long guns at home. This morning interim CEO John Mulligan wrote on the company’s blog that the company’s leadership has been wrestling with the “complex issue” for several weeks. And in the end, he writes, the team decided to join Chipotle, Chili’s, Starbucks and other companies by asking folks to shop without displaying their weapons. Mr. Sarkozy was held at Nanterre, just outside of Paris, where he was questioned on allegations that he violated campaign finance laws and abused his power to manipulate the legal system. Authorities officially charged him, his lawyer and a senior magistrate early Wednesday morning, according to several news outlets. Israel has been forced to cope with waves of terrorism of various types and intensities since its founding and to this day. These waves of terrorism are carried out by various terrorist organizations (Palestinian and Shi’ite) in various arenas (internal, along the borders, overseas) and using various methods (suicide attacks, explosive devices, kidnappings and negotiations, shootings and more). In the decade since the end of the second Intifada, and since the death of Yasser Arafat and his replacement by Abu Mazen, there has been a significant lull in the number of terrorist attacks on Israeli soil, the wave of suicide attacks has subsided

Likewise, there are assessments that also in Jordan, Kuwait and other Gulf nations, there is fear of suffering a similar fate from the powerful organization. Without underestimating the threat potential of the organization in light of its local achievements and murderous activities, it is worth understanding the wider context in which it has attained its achievements and strength.

Life is imitating art in Thailand — unfortunately for protesters, it’s the illegal three-fingered salute from the “Hunger Games” books and film series. After Thailand’s military council took power in a coup on May 22, it began cracking down on dissent in unique ways. It became illegal to read George Orwell’s “1984” in public or to wear shirts that say “Peace Please.” Now, the salute from “The Hunger Games” is off-limits, Business Insider reported Friday. Plainclothes cops are reportedly patrolling Bangkok for individuals who break such laws and then arrest them. “In many cases, their heads are covered with black plastic bags so they won’t

Despite fiery statements issued by Hamas spokesmen over the past 48 hours, it was obvious Tuesday night that the Islamist movement was searching for ways to rid itself of the current escalation. A year ago, Mr. Obama boasted in a “fireside” Web chat that his “is the most transparent administration in history.” There was not the slightest hint of irony. He may actually believe it.
