US commends Israel for efforts

Jerusalem Post [Israel], by Lidar Gravé-Lazi

The United States has recognized Israel’s continued activity in the important struggle against the trafficking of women, MK David Tsur (Hatnua), chairman of the Knesset Subcommittee on Trafficking in Women and Prostitution said on Sunday. He made these remarks in reference to the US State Department’s 2014 Trafficking in Persons report which was released by US Secretary of State John Kerry on Friday and awarded Israel, for the third year in a row, a “Tier 1” ranking for its efforts to prevent human trafficking. Comments:
Many of US have worked for companies that are firing employees, and letting them out the backdoor, while hiring replacements through the front door. What exactly is "human trafficking" if not the 0bama administration earlier in the winter preparing for an influx of illegal alien unaccompanied children that far exceeded previous years & ads running in Central America for them to mass at our borders now? I hope being black doesn´t make it racist to see 0bama as a "super-pimp."

Dozens Of Women Were Illegally
Sterilized By California Prisons

Four California prisons illegally sterilized 39 women between 2005 and 2011, a new report reveals. The women were sterilized via “bilateral tubal ligation” — a surgical procedure commonly known as “having your tubes tied” — and were part of a larger group of 144 female inmates who underwent the procedure. The report, which was commissioned by lawmakers and conducted by the state auditor, found that 39 of those procedures violated California’s laws regarding inmate medical procedures. The issue boils down to consent. California law carefully lays out the procedure that must take place in order for a female

The Obama administration has announced that it will work to process and deport illegal immigrants quicker, and that a new detention center for families crossing the border is to be opened. The Wall Street Journal reports that the facility, located on the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center´s Artesia, N.M., campus, will hold families while their deportation proceedings unfold The Homeland Security Department said the facility is one of several DHS is considering to hold and expedite the deportation of the mounting number of adults with children illegally crossing the southwest border.

New York - America is a land of immigrants, but some of its biggest companies are keen to emigrate, driven abroad by high tax rates and America’s “worldwide” system of taxation, which grabs a share of their foreign profits. The preferred method of exit is the “tax inversion”, which uses a cross-border merger—generally one that also has some sort of industrial logic—as the pretext for reincorporating in a more tax-friendly place. Medtronic, a maker of medical devices, is the latest and largest firm to change its nationality in this way. The combined group will be domiciled in low-tax Ireland, the official home of its merger partner,

Ground Zero Cross:

A federal appeals court said Thursday an atheist group trying to keep the so-called Ground Zero Cross out of the National September 11 Memorial Museum must better explain how displaying the artifact is “offensive” and violates members’ constitutional rights. The 17-foot-tall, steel beam “cross” was found in the rubble of the World Trade Center twin towers in New York that fell during the Sept. 11 terror attacks. The cross became a sort of shrine or place of comfort for first responders who often prayed there and left messages or flowers. It was moved away from the debris a few weeks later and became a tourist attraction through

Iraqi Military Out of Hellfires

The Iraqi military ran out of Hellfire missiles six days ago, and though the U.S. is rushing more missiles into the country, Iraq has only two modified Cessna aircraft to launch them in their battle against the radical Islamic militia ISIS. ISIS has captured 28 tanks and shot down three helicopters, a significant percentage of the government force, and the militia killed an entire Iraqi Security Force brigade in the last couple of days at the border with Syria, which ISIS now controls. The losses have left the Iraqi military with no offensive capability, and no real air force. With the brigade at the border at Al Qaim wiped out, ISIS now controls

If Liberman has his way, Serry, the Dutch diplomat whose official title is United Nations special coordinator for the Middle East peace process, will be declared by the Israeli government as persona non grata. According to Channel 2, Liberman plans to convene a special high-level conference with Foreign Ministry officials in Jerusalem who will decide which steps, if any, are to be taken.

When Uber, the app that pairs drivers with those seeking rides, completed a round of financing earlier this month that gave it a $17 billion valuation, jaws dropped across Wall Street. The tech startup has grown 6,000 percent since 2010 — making it the most valuable private tech startup. These warnings signs include regulatory push-back from cities and questions about its ability to ensure its drivers are licensed and insured. For example, California legalized ride-sharing last year, yet the state still finds itself butting heads with Uber over some basic violations — such as drivers not being licensed.

I have been listening all week to TV pundits lamenting that Lois Lerner’s hard drive has been destroyed, and therefore her e-mails are lost. This is simply not the case. I never cease to be amazed at the lack of understanding of how the e-mail system works. When you write an e-mail, it goes to your server to be sent to the person you e-mailed. Your server keeps a copy of that e-mail, and of all your e-mails – sent and received. When you create all the folders in your e-mail program that you use to save e-mails in...these are also

The Obama administration’s claim to have been surprised by the wave of children flooding over out borders may turn out to be another political lie of the year. Sundance of Conservative Treehouse noticed a very peculiar advertisement: On January 29th of this year, the federal government posted an advertisement seeking bids for a vendor contract to handle “Unaccompanied Alien Children“. Not just any contract mind you, but a very specific contract – for a very specific number of unaccompanied minors: 65,000. • Why would DHS and ICE be claiming “surprise” by the current influx of unaccompanied minors on the border

Call it Paul Ryan’s finest hour. It’s a video of the congressman from Wisconsin confronting the commissioner of Internal Revenue over the missing Lois Lerner emails. It’s easy to see why the clip is going viral on the Web. It is one of those rare moments when Congress loses its temper and a major figure says what the American people are thinking. They don’t believe Commissioner John Koskinen is telling the truth. They don’t believe him. Mr. Koskinen protested. No one believed that either. Mr. Ryan’s ire was triggered by the suggestion of one of the Democrats that Mr. Koskinen

The South Dakota Republican Party state convention passed a resolution calling for the impeachment of President Barack Obama Saturday. The resolution says Obama has "violated his oath of office in numerous ways." It specifically cites the release of five Taliban combatants in a trade for captive U.S. soldier Bowe Bergdahl, Obama´s statement that people could keep insurance companies, and recent EPA regulations on power plants. "Therefore, be it resolved that the South Dakota Republican Party calls on our U.S. Representatives to initiate impeachment proceedings against the president of the United States," the resolution reads. First Lady Michelle Obama recently drew on her personal experience as a parent to justify her vastly unpopular intervention into the public school lunch program: Before coming to the White House, I struggled, as a working parent with a traveling, busy husband, to figure out how to feed my kids healthy, and I didn’t get it right. Our pediatrician had to pull me aside and point out some things that were going wrong. Outwardly, they put on a show of unity — but privately, the Obamas and Clintons, the two power couples of the Democrat Party, loathe each other. “I hate that man Obama more than any man I’ve ever met, more than any man who ever lived,” Bill Clinton said to friends on one occasion, adding he would never forgive Obama for suggesting he was a racist during the 2008 campaign. The feeling is mutual. Obama made excuses not to talk to Bill, while the first lady privately sniped about Hillary. On most evenings, Michelle Obama and her trusted adviser, Valerie Jarrett, met in a quiet corner of the White House residence.

I still think President Barack Obama was born in Hawaii, even though for 14 years he allowed his literary agent to circulate a bio blurb stating he was born in Kenya, and even though for many years he attended a church where his pastor friend shouted such things as “God damn America!” I still think that he just pretended to be Kenyan to be cool, to sell books and, perhaps, to get a foreign student scholarship at those colleges from which he refuses to release his transcripts. He’s probably not actually Kenyan. But as I speculated

At the end of the Civil War, but before the pernicious reach of Jim Crow undermined the Union Army’s battlefield victory, former slaves and free blacks found themselves in possession of a most precious right -- the right to vote. It didn’t matter if a man had been a war hero in the famed, all-black 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment or a house servant in a Southern plantation. All that mattered was that he was a man. To say that this development didn’t sit well with the progressive-minded women of this country is an understatement. The decision this past week by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to rescind federal trademark protections for the Redskins may ultimately tip the balance in the controversy over the 80-year-old name of Washington’s football team. If so, that would be a shame. Not because there’s insufficient reason to consider the name “disparaging to Native Americans,” as the patent office determined. Many of us recoil at the reference to skin color as a team identity. The problem is that the Redskins case is just the latest example of a federal agency going beyond its brief to inappropriately insert itself in
