Summer in D.C. Brings out the ´Skinterns´
American Thinker, by Taylor Lewis

Here in the District of Criminals, it’s the season of sultry, sweat-stained humidity. (snip) Starting in May, interns swarm the city like the locust plague in Egypt. They infiltrate nonprofits, lobbying firms, and most intensively, Capitol Hill. Always bright-eyed optimists, they show up at happy hours with eager faces, ready to hobnob with anyone who can offer employment. It would all be innocent enough except for one element: the revealing workwear donned by the young ladies. By the millennial crowd I’m forced by nature to be amongst, this trend is affectionately referred to as “skintern” season. Many female interns who come

Hmmm, women using their bodies and a hint of sexual availability to get ahead in the workplace. Wow, who´d have thought that?

Then they b!tch that men objectify them. Then they insist on a freaking volume full of rules and processes to get a date with someone on a college campus. Then they complain about a whistle or someone making a pass as they wave their thinly veiled, thonged rear-end in the guy´s face.

Women should stop complaining about men and save their venom for their own sisters. You can´t have your cheesecake and eat it too.

This article lends new meaning to the term "Movers and Shakers."

"Contrary to popular belief, much of Washington D.C. doesn’t exist to govern the nation. The leading occupation in the city is whoring. Whether it be make-work jobs in unconstitutional bureaucracies or using a young intern as a personal sex cushion, the general disposition is one of exploitation and greed."

Of course. With ´Progressive Icons´ like Oprah Winfrey, Hillary Clinton, Martha Stewart, Barbara Walters, etc., the message is clear: The only way a woman will succeed in this country is by having a man pave the way for you. So, snag a powerful one and cruise to the top. No brains or skills required.

We have an entire generation of woman who are prostituting themselves because they see that as the path to success.

Darn. No pictures.

I remember about 30 years ago, my dear departed Irish mother shared with me a letter from her god-daughter, who had been able to find an internship with a congresscritter (Republican, to my mother´s consternation, but I digress).

Her god-daughter told her about how she and her friend, a fellow intern, both in their very early 20´s, were having a wonderful time in Washington and never needed to worry about cooking or dinner because every night they had an invitation to an event at some embassy or some lobbyists´ party.

I didn´t have the nerve to tell my dear, sainted Irish mother that the reason was probably because they were two very attractive single women.

You know the old story ... good girls go to heaven, bad girls get to go everywhere else.

Previous generations of American women may not have had all the choices in the workplace. However, more of them were raised to understand two words - decency and honor. As far as the moral health of a nation, gee, I wonder which is more important. As bad as things are, however, just think of how many people WORLDWIDE were all following the charming courtship and wedding of Jill Duggar and her accountant fiance, Derrick. I checked yesterday and Daily Mail, People, ETOnline among many others all covered news of yesterday´s wedding. Were this decent God-fearing family not be pulling in the RATINGS these popular media and TV outlets would not have covered it so extensively. Sure, some make fun and smear them but many more young people long for these values. This should remind us that all is not lost. Not all smart and very beautiful young women fall for the progressive line.

The White House on Tuesday formally requested $3.7 billion in emergency funding from Congress to deal with an influx of Central American minors along the southern border.
