Paul Ryan’s Finest Hour
New York Sun, by Editorial

Original Article

Posted By:mitzi, 6/21/2014 11:03:03 AM

Call it Paul Ryan’s finest hour. It’s a video of the congressman from Wisconsin confronting the commissioner of Internal Revenue over the missing Lois Lerner emails. It’s easy to see why the clip is going viral on the Web. It is one of those rare moments when Congress loses its temper and a major figure says what the American people are thinking. They don’t believe Commissioner John Koskinen is telling the truth. They don’t believe him. Mr. Koskinen protested. No one believed that either. Mr. Ryan’s ire was triggered by the suggestion of one of the Democrats that Mr. Koskinen

I´m wondering if Ryan already has the email and is just giving these IRS people and the WH just a bit more rope.

I´m hoping this will add fuel to the fire (figuratively speaking) that eliminates the IRS. Any agency with that much power, lack of oversight and inability to have criminal employees fired is bound to become corrupt.

American citizens should not fear that any part of government can harm them without due process, and due process is not what the IRS provided in it´s dealings.

A fair tax, flat tax, or whatever can reduce the IRS to a small number of clerks inputting data into the computers, with a small group of investigators to look into problems. Any charges against a citizen should go to the courts- like any other allegation of crime.

I have been looking for the line that would define this president. I think Ryan finally made it.

Did you see how haughty and evil and slant eyed that guy got towards the end? Do you dare question me! Did you see him grin? Did you see when the stake was driven in the libs on the panel started getting testy? Of course, it´s their brother.

The only thing I would have hoped would have been different is instead of Ryan mentioning that some IT guys would disagree with the hard drive crash, is to have been more iron fisted about that fact, which underpins everything. It is IMPOSSIBLE that those emails were lost. IMPOSSIBLE. No other side discussion matters more than that central issue.

That guy made me want to puke. I bet he worked up through the ranks of the IRS. I could see him at an audit, looking with those evil snake eyes at someone who made a mistake on his taxes and threatening prison. You know he has done that, and gets off on it. Probably a sexual thing as well, the whole control/victim-sexual deal.

The time has come to eliminate the IRS. Flat tax.

The GOP should use this as their platform for 2016 and knock it out of the park.

It´s outrageous.

Amen, #10. Ryan is performing Kabuki theater for the conservative crowd. Trying to worm his way back in their good graces since he ticked conservatives off with his amnesty push. He knew the cameras were rolling and performed well.

Unless I see subpoenas and indictments, Ryan is full of sound and fury, signifying NOTHING.

Just look at us. It´s small potatoes to have one of our Congressmen actually say "I don´t believe you" in the face of laughable falsehoods. They aren´t even creative anymore - just blatant impossible to believe lies. And we leap at anything, anyone who will call them out. We are a voice crying in a wilderness, and the sound does nothing. So what, Mr. Ryan, what are you going to DO about it? Koskinen is not worried and that´s what worries me.

What is more outrageous than the bureaucrat lying to the American people, is the actions of the democrat committee members, who rather than trying to ascertain the facts, spent their time with statements designed to cover the facts and accuse republicans of harassing the IRS.
They have no intention of representing their constituents and stopping the abuse of the citizens by a rogue agency. They are complicit in the crime.

The smirking arrogance seen in Dem assets from State to the IRS demonstrate what the like-minded are saying and believing in private: total disdain not only for political enemies but for what the country is and stands for.

If they succeed in their criminality, the country loses. If they are actually caught, their efforts and methods will also do serious damage to the country and the values that sustain it.

As long as supposed GOP factions cling to slurs and labels why should anyone waste their time fighting the corruption?
The GOP harbors many who cling to the usual my way or the highway immovable mentality.

I´m very much against an effort to impeach Barack Obama. Yes, it would feel good. Yes, he has earned it. Yes, it would fail. So, what would be accomplished? That´s a rhetorical question, because the answer is a loss of the Oval Office in 2016 to Hillary Clinton or Elizabeth Warren because the electorate has been ginned up by a failed effort to remove the first black president.

Aiming the cannon isn´t going to scare enough senators into voting for conviction.

Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has warned all of his colleagues in Congress that President Barack Obama’s new immigration strategy—his plans to legalize millions of illegal alien adults through executive power—could destroy America as we know it. “I write to inform you of a development that threatens the foundation of our constitutional Republic,” Sessions, Congress’s top immigration hawk, wrote in a letter that was hand-delivered to all 535 members of Congress on Monday and provided exclusively to Breitbart News. Sessions cites a recent report from the National Journal, in which reporter Major Garrett detailed how, despite the ongoing

Inquiring minds wonder if there’s a “G” in the grading repertoire. And that does not stand for “good.” Pollster John Zogby has given President Obama an “F” this week for the White House performance on the global stage, and the researcher has no imminent good news for the president. “Some people have really bad weeks. Brazil’s President Dilma Rousseff got an ‘F’ after the nation’s soccer team lost to Germany. But President Obama’s week was just as bad,” Mr. Zogby says. “Israel and the Palestinians are at war again. The president should have visited the U.S.-Mexican border, where so many immigrant children are in danger and so many

On July 16, comic character Archie Andrews, of Life With Archie, will die after being shot while protecting gay friend Kevin Keller. Keller is "Archie Comics´ first openly gay character." According to the Associated Press, Keller is "a married military veteran and newly elected senator who´s pushing for more gun control in Riverdale after his husband was involved in a shooting." Archie Comics´ publisher and co-CEO Jon Goldwater said the way in which Archie will die was carefully chosen. While he could have been killed saving "Betty" or saving "Veronica," doing so for Keller was something "that would really resonate

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security. President Obama is known for being competitive on the basketball court, but he´s also apparently a cutthroat pool player. Gov. John Hickenlooper, D-Colo., told reporters at the National Governors Association meeting on Sunday that the president surprised him by beat him in two consecutive games. To add insult to injury, the two were playing at the Wynkoop Brewing Company, a bar that Hickenlooper co-founded. "You know I´ll tell ya -- the man is a shark," Hickenlooper told reporters, Time reports. "I was up a few balls. I felt pretty good. I was actually wondering whether how hard should I --

Where is the red line of impeachment? In theory, a red line might be located somewhere on a list of impeachable offenses – perhaps at the point where a certain number of transgressions is exceeded, or next to a specific instance because of its significance or impact. In reality, though, that red line exists along a spectrum of “political will.” As Andrew McCarthy explained: “You can have a thousand provable impeachable offenses, but before Congress may remove the president from power, there must be strong popular support – a public will that cuts across partisan and ideological lines.”
