Pope Francis Condemns
Legalization of Marijuana

VATICAN CITY -- Pope Francis came out strongly against the legalization of recreational drugs on Friday. The pontiff told members of a drug enforcement conference meeting in Rome that even limited attempts to legalize recreational drugs "are not only highly questionable from a legislative standpoint, but they fail to produce the desired effects." Francis has frequently railed against the "evil" of drug addiction and has met with addicts on several occasions. Just last month, Uruguay -- next door to Francis´ native Argentina -- approved selling marijuana cigarettes in pharmacies, and recreational marijuana is legal in the U.S. states of Colorado and

Since MaryJane has been legalized in WA state there has been an uptick in nasty vehicular accidents where both the drug and alcohol have been proven causes. With the advent of new shops selling it in food form, little kids have gotten into brownies and cookies laced with it and made very ill. Also, cars with Colorado license plates are given a wide berth. Consequences.

It is hard to take seriously the opinions of anyone who advocates a socialistic "redistribution of wealth" (= legalised theft) as Francis has repeatedly done. What a difference from when John Paul II was helping Reagan dismantle communism...

If the Pope does the Fatima Consecration Our Lady requested decades ago, the other peripheral problems Francis concerns himself with would take care of themselves, and it would cost nothing to do it. What would hurt?

I´m not a Catholic and I have been bothered by some of the Pope´s statements that sound Socialistic, but marijuana is NOT the harmless "herb" that it´s proponents would have you believe.

CASSELBERRY, Fla. - A Casselberry mother was arrested on allegations of refusing to take her newborn, diagnosed by a doctor as dehydrated, to a hospital because of her staunch vegan stance. Sarah Anne Markham was arrested Tuesday on a charge of child neglect. According to Casselberry police, a pediatrician told Markham that her baby needed to be admitted to Florida Hospital South for treatment because the child was dehydrated and was losing weight. Markham, however, went home and would not answer when officers knocked at her door. Police used a locksmith to enter the

Forget toxic waste dumps, the Environmental Protection Agency apparently has a more immediate cleanup problem in its own backyard: An employee defecating in the hallway. GovernmentExecutive.com, the government´s business news daily and key website for federal managers and executives, reported Wednesday that the EPA management for Region 8 in Denver sent an e-mail earlier this month to staff pleading to stop inappropriate bathroom behavior, including defecating in the hallway. In the e-mail, obtained by Government Executive, Deputy Regional Administrator Howard Cantor noted "several incidents" in the building, including clogging the toilets with paper towels and "an individual placing feces in the hallway"

CHAPPAQUA – New Castle police continued their investigation Monday into the defacing of a sign outside the Chappaqua Public Library promoting an upcoming book signing by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Lt. James Wilson said police had not made any arrests. The sign was posted outside the library on South Greeley Avenue to promote the weekend appearance of Clinton, a Chappaqua resident. But someone wrote across the sign in large red letters the word, "Benghazi," police said. It refers to the 2012 attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya. Emigration: Central American leaders have taken to lecturing the U.S. on the care and feeding of the tens of thousands of their emigrants who have suddenly flooded our southern border. Have they no shame? Apparently they don´t, though the Spanish language has a very strong word — sinverguenza — for such gall. Start with Honduras President Juan Orlando Hernandez. BEIJING, June 21 — Animal lovers provoked an angry backlash from residents of a Chinese city after protesting a controversial festival today in which locals celebrate the summer solstice by eating dog meat, witnesses and media said. Activists have flocked for weeks to Yulin, in the southwestern region of Guangxi, to protest the local custom of eating dog—particularly on the summer solstice, which fell today, in an event dubbed the “dog meat festival”. But their efforts have backfired. “A lot of people have said, ‘I don’t eat dog meat, but just because of these idiots, I will go buy dog meat

That was the result of a study published Friday by Gallup, which also indicates that disapproval of Obama’s immigration policies has increased 10 percent since the last time the same survey was taken in August 2013. Since Gallup began taking the poll, never has it come up with such a high disapproval rating, and only in 2010 was approval lower than 31 percent.

The number of unaccompanied children from Central America into the U.S. has reached 47,000 since October, and may hit 90,000 by the end of this year. The official story is that they are fleeing drug-gang mayhem and political violence in their home countries, and so are refugees and asylum-seekers. But the Guatemalan ambassador has said they are seeking economic opportunity and the “American dream.” It’s hard, however, not to see a connection with Obama’s 2012 Deferred Action for Arrivals Program, which defers deportation for illegal aliens who are minors. Obama enacted by executive fiat––and just recently extended for 2 years––this

Lois Lerner, the controversial director of the tax-exempt organizations division at the Internal Revenue Service, has a long sordid history of targeting conservatives. Under the direction of Lois Lerner, the Federal Election Commission sued the Christian Coalition in the 1990s. She harassed the Christian Coalition for three election cycles. Eventually, she lost her case. At one point Lerner even asked a targeted conservative if Pat Robertson prayed over him. (Sound familiar?) In 1996, while at the FEC, Lois Lerner harassed Republican Senate candidate Al Salvi and made him this outrageous offer, “Promise me you will never run for office again, and

Republicans are in the strongest position to win back the Senate since losing it eight years ago. Over several months, the party has expanded its range of targeted seats, and the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) has helped defeat insurgents it didn’t want representing the GOP in the midterm elections. This sober realization came to Democrats on Wednesday, as Tuesday night’s primary results showed they cannot count on Tea Party candidates upsetting more-electable incumbents. And Democrats are increasingly realizing that President Obama’s approval rating will probably remain mired at 45 percent or lower until

Decades of socialist/progressive indoctrination in our schools, media, and culture, plus six years of Obama, have yielded a devastating unspoken consequence. It is the loss of who we use to be as Americans. In his 1961 Inaugural Address, President John F. Kennedy said, “My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” Democrats have perverted Kennedy´s inspiring challenge. Their dispiriting goal is to have as many Americans as possible controlled by and dependent on government, even for life itself, which is at the root of ObamaCare.
