Why the Middle East´s borders
will never be the same again

CNN, by Scott Anderson

Original Article

Posted By:earlybird, 6/20/2014 3:43:54 PM

Many observers gazing upon the current bloodshed in the Middle East have wondered aloud if we are seeing the disintegration of the nation-state boundaries established in the region nearly a century ago. But the crises in Iraq and Syria have simply laid bare a phenomenon that has been under way for quite some time. What´s more, this process is now almost certainly irreversible, and will lead to a radically different Middle Eastern map than we have known. In the heady early days of the Arab Spring, many people imagined that the Arab world might finally be entering a period of greater democratization,

Comments:
In a forewording "Editor´s Note", CNN hastens to inform us that the opinions expressed are Scott Anderson´s. He is called a "war reporter". Good enough for me.

The West drew most of those borders after WWII. The dissolution of the borders may mean the REintegration of lost states. Folks at CNN need to study some history....

Actually, the author´s grasp of the history of this region appears quite good. I recommend this article. The fake borders in the Middle East were drawn up during World War I by the British and French. They have no bearing to the reality on the ground.

The best way to defeat ISIS is to peel off the support it receives from local Sunni tribes. Promise them autonomy, bribe them, whatever. It´s easier and more effective than sending our boys back into that hornet´s nest again.

#3, that´s okay, Israel will just turn all of the izlomic rag head countries into green glass if it looks as though Israel is lost.

I truly believe that God will not allow Israel to be taken over or lost because of these low life pond scum that want to destroy Israel.

And the article is correct, the British and the French drew the borders with no consideration to ethnic or tribal territories. So in some respects, we can blame them for the mess we are in today.

High court strikes Massachusetts
abortion ´buffer zone´

The Supreme Court on Thursday unanimously struck down a Massachusetts law that restricted speech outside abortion facilities, a decision that abortion-rights advocates decried as a threat to patient safety at clinics nationwide. The court said the state law violated the First Amendment because its “buffer zone” limited speech too broadly, covering 35 feet from the doorway of facilities and including public areas like sidewalks. Although other buffer zones typically are smaller, specifying distances such as 8 feet or 15 feet from clinics, the advocates said the court’s decision puts them in jeopardy. “If you were a betting man, you would bet

They say it is, in fact, the Higgs boson and not something else.Researchers have discovered that the bosons decay into fermions, which are a group of particles that include ones like leptons and quarks. That’s a good thing because it’s exactly what the Standard Model of particle physics predicts the Higgs boson should do. “This is an enormous breakthrough,” said Markus Klute, an assistant professor of physics at MIT and leader of the international group of boffins. “Now we know

Eventually, she lost her case. At one point Lerner even asked a targeted conservative if Pat Robertson prayed over him. (Sound familiar?) Republicans are in the strongest position to win back the Senate since losing it eight years ago. Over several months, the party has expanded its range of targeted seats, and the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) has helped defeat insurgents it didn’t want representing the GOP in the midterm elections. This sober realization came to Democrats on Wednesday, as Tuesday night’s primary results showed they cannot count on Tea Party candidates upsetting more-electable incumbents. And Democrats are increasingly realizing that President Obama’s approval rating will probably remain mired at 45 percent or lower until

Decades of socialist/progressive indoctrination in our schools, media, and culture, plus six years of Obama, have yielded a devastating unspoken consequence. It is the loss of who we use to be as Americans. In his 1961 Inaugural Address, President John F. Kennedy said, “My fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” Democrats have perverted Kennedy´s inspiring challenge. Their dispiriting goal is to have as many Americans as possible controlled by and dependent on government, even for life itself, which is at the root of ObamaCare.
