Bill O´Reilly Disses Rush
Limbaugh: ´I´m a Fact-Based Guy´

Breitbart´s Big Journalism, by Tony Lee

Original Article

Fox News host Bill O´Reilly dissed conservative talk radio host and icon Rush Limbaugh at an event in New York City Wednesday evening. According to the Daily Beast, O´Reilly told the audience, “I’m not Rush Limbaugh or Al Franken, where everything has to fit into my worldview… I’m a fact-based guy. A lot of people don’t understand that.” O´Reilly made his remarks about being a "fact-based guy" days after he tried to convince his viewers that House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) did not lose his primary race last week to Dave Brat because of the amnesty issue. O´Reilly conveniently ignored the

Comments:
Oh puhleeze. It´s obvious he really doesn´t listen to Rush Limbaugh. Rush is not only a "fact-based guy" he speaks the truth!! How did well did O´Reilly´s talk show do? It was an unmitigated disaster.

Limbaugh-envy, although nowhere near as deranged as Crazy Michael Savage.

O´Reilly is not nearly as smart as he thinks he is. Cavuto proves it every time they go head-to-head on finance/economic issues.

One of the worst enemies of a successful individual is himself!

Bill O´Reilly has dissed Rush before and obviously has not learned a valuable lesson.

O´Reilly has lost his center and is so full of himself that he doesn´t recognize when he is being laughed at by his own guests. Words need not be said but the slight facial expressions, eyebrow raise or head tilt can
relate volumes of information.

O´Reilly victimizes himself, so be it.

O´Reilly says he is a "facts guy"--

When he was a television reporter in the Dallas/Fort Worth market in the 70´s he had many questions about the government telling us the truth and getting the facts straight in the JFK assassination, and he publishes a book which is just the Warren report all over again.

I think B.O. has quit looking for truth, while Rush seeks to find it through the BS thrown at us every day. His analysis is usually right on.

Not so accurate with Bill who tries to straddle both sides of many issues.

The most off-putting habit O´Reilly has is when he asks someone a question then almost immediately interrupts them and begins to answer it himself. He has had some very intelligent people on his show and treats them like they are ignorant....only showing himself to be rude and arrogant and then there is the pompous attitude he cannot disguise.

Apparently, Rush´s moniker for O´Reilly, "Ted O´Baxter" is too close to reality to be laughed off. O´Reilly is an apple polisher par excellence, looking for love in all the wrong places (for example, from Obama, Valerie Jarrett, Lofo self-described centrists, etc.). Rush is as factual as anyone in broadcasting, and is totally congruent in his presentations. What you see is what you get. With O´Reilly, it seems that ratings trump ideology. I don´t trust him. I do trust Rush, and know he´s not going to diddy bop off the reservation to appeal to people with no informational grounding.

I still watch Bill sometimes, but I never miss Rush.

Bill lost me when he interviewed Obama the first time. It was just such a suck up interview, it was embarrassing. I´m pretty sure that he let the White House dictate the parameters of the interview. He says he doesn´t allow that, but it sure seems as if he does.

Rush, on the other hand, sucks up to no one.
And he makes the libs´ heads explode! I like that. If I really wanted to get my brother´s goat, all I had to do was say ,´Well, Rush says---´ and the foam started to form around his mouth!

O´Reilly is a ´fact-based guy´ if you like his facts. He can really be obnoxious but he does have a good variety of guests. I have no idea why some of them even appear again and again. The interrupting is so bad some shows, it´s time to grab the remote. I´ve often thought he should just sit there for the entire show and talk to himself. He would never be wrong and he would think he was a winner. What a jerk.

Megyn is increasingly beating him in the ratings, (389 to 378 on Wednesday night). I can´t stand O´Reilly´s pompous, know-it-all attitude, and Hannity´s constant repetition of the same phrase, over and over. I don´t watch either of them any more.

Greta (that´s a surprise), then Megyn. Baer isn´t bad, either. As far as I´m concerned, Rodger Ailes should take O´Reilly, Hannity, Chris Wallace and Shep Smith and ship them off to wherever he sent Beck.

And banish them from ever appearing on the network again.

Those who listen to Limbaugh realize that he is correct and insightful 99.6% of the time. Those who occasionally happen across O’Reilly recognize that he is correct perhaps 50% of the time, insightful perhaps 25% of the time, clever or humorous perhaps 10% of the time. Even Hannity is funnier. His former fill in, Megan Kelly, is already getting more viewers. One thing is unquestioned. O’Reilly is king of the Blowhards. And, he isn’t looking out for “the folks” particularly well.

BOR would like nothing better than a "controversy" with Rush.

He´ll have to take a number and get in a long line that has included a couple of POTUS. (Ted O´Baxter has been in and out of that line for years - still pitifully trying.)

Last I heard O´Reilly might be standing at the end of the line next to Mike Rogers, "head of the powerful House Intelligence Committee", who is apparently going from "gov´t service to national talk show host" and thought dissing Rush would be good advertisement.

Rush has a loyal audience for some reasons that have been mentioned here, and others. Those of us who have "tuned in" since 1988, and all through the years, have come to think of him as a much loved and trusted member of our Conservative family. The more he is attacked, the more we stand with him, and he stands with us.

#19, had to laugh at your comment to your brother, "Well, Rush says---". I´ve used that a number of time with much the same amusing reaction. His name alone brings amusing reactions in some people.

President Obama is “absolutely” the most transparent president in history, White House press secretary Josh Earnest said Sunday after the White House received a letter from signed by a dozen top journalists’ groups complaining about the administration’s policies toward the media. “There are a number of steps that we´ve taken to give people greater insight into what´s happening at the White House,” Earnest said in an interview with CNN’s “Reliable Sources.” The letter, signed by the Society of Professional Journalists and the Poynter Institute, among others, accuses the White House of "politically driven suppression of news and information about federal agencies." The U.S. deported Honduran children as young as 1-1/2 years old on Monday in the first flight since President Obama pledged to speed up the process of sending back illegal immigrant minors from Central America. Fleeing violence and poverty, record numbers of children from Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala have crossed into the United States over the past year, sparking intense debate about how to solve the problem. Monday´s flight from New Mexico to San Pedro Sula, the city with the highest murder rate in the world, returned 17 Honduran women, as well as 12 girls and nine boys, aged

First lady Michelle Obama grabbed the political reins during a speech to the League of United Latin American Citizens in New York City, telling the crowd of admirers not to worry — that her husband wouldn’t wait on Congress to take action on immigration reform. “So make no mistake about it — we have to keep on fighting as hard as we can on immigration,” Mrs. Obama said, to a cheering crowd, Breitbart reported. “And as my husband has said, he’s going to do whatever administrative action it takes to fix this broken system.” Mrs. Obama then vowed that Congress wouldn’t get

In remarks framed as a message to the American public, actor Jon Voight emotionally aired his political grievances for several minutes in a televised statement on Saturday. Those grievances range from (but are not limited to) Benghazi, the IRS scandal, the "targeting" of conservative filmmaker Dinesh D´Souza, illegal immigration, the Hobby Lobby Supreme Court case, the treatment of war veterans, the chaos in Iraq and deep reservations about President Obama. "Five years ago, I stated that Obama would take the country apart piece-by-piece, that he would cause a civil war in this country," Voight read on Saturday in a statement on

Inquiring minds wonder if there’s a “G” in the grading repertoire. And that does not stand for “good.” Pollster John Zogby has given President Obama an “F” this week for the White House performance on the global stage, and the researcher has no imminent good news for the president. “Some people have really bad weeks. Brazil’s President Dilma Rousseff got an ‘F’ after the nation’s soccer team lost to Germany. But President Obama’s week was just as bad,” Mr. Zogby says. “Israel and the Palestinians are at war again. The president should have visited the U.S.-Mexican border, where so many immigrant children are in danger and so many

On July 16, comic character Archie Andrews, of Life With Archie, will die after being shot while protecting gay friend Kevin Keller. Keller is "Archie Comics´ first openly gay character." According to the Associated Press, Keller is "a married military veteran and newly elected senator who´s pushing for more gun control in Riverdale after his husband was involved in a shooting." Archie Comics´ publisher and co-CEO Jon Goldwater said the way in which Archie will die was carefully chosen. While he could have been killed saving "Betty" or saving "Veronica," doing so for Keller was something "that would really resonate

Attorney General Eric Holder said Sunday he and President Obama have been targets of “a racial animus” by some of the administration’s political opponents. “There´s a certain level of vehemence, it seems to me, that´s directed at me [and] directed at the president,” Holder told ABC. “You know, people talking about taking their country back. … There´s a certain racial component to this for some people. I don’t think this is the thing that is a main driver, but for some there´s a racial animus." Holder said the nation is in “a fundamentally better place than we were 50 years ago.” “We´ve

President Obama is known for being competitive on the basketball court, but he´s also apparently a cutthroat pool player. Gov. John Hickenlooper, D-Colo., told reporters at the National Governors Association meeting on Sunday that the president surprised him by beat him in two consecutive games. To add insult to injury, the two were playing at the Wynkoop Brewing Company, a bar that Hickenlooper co-founded. "You know I´ll tell ya -- the man is a shark," Hickenlooper told reporters, Time reports. "I was up a few balls. I felt pretty good. I was actually wondering whether how hard should I --

Where is the red line of impeachment? In theory, a red line might be located somewhere on a list of impeachable offenses – perhaps at the point where a certain number of transgressions is exceeded, or next to a specific instance because of its significance or impact. In reality, though, that red line exists along a spectrum of “political will.” As Andrew McCarthy explained: “You can have a thousand provable impeachable offenses, but before Congress may remove the president from power, there must be strong popular support – a public will that cuts across partisan and ideological lines.”
