Obama sending up to 300 soldiers
to Iraq as advisers, says move is limited

Original Article

President Obama authorized additional military assistance for Iraq’s fight against advancing Islamist militants Thursday, but made clear that he will continue to hold back more substantive support, including U.S. airstrikes, until he sees a direct threat to U.S. personnel or a more inclusive and capable Iraqi government.Obama said he would send up to 300 additional U.S. Special Operations troops to better assess the situation on the ground, where forces of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) have moved ever nearer to Baghdad, and to determine “how we can best train, advise and support Iraqi security forces going forward.” With

I thought obama said there was no military solution to Iraq? I thought he also said he wouldn´t favor on sect over the other? Then why is he sending troops to just one side? The village idiot we have as President makes no sense about anything. Good grief this is what a fool leading from behind in foreign policy looks like.

Get all of our people out of Iraq. Then hang a big sign on the 750 million dollar embassy that says, "The Barack Obama Presidential Library." Two birds with one stone. Obama will be right at home among his peeps and we won´t have to foot the bill for his library. I understand it is state of the art and fortress like. Therefore he should feel right at home.

“A sovereign, stable and self-reliant Iraq.” Obama in his December 2011 speech describing the Iraq he had just pulled a Private Bergdahl on. Obama called Iraq and the defeat of Al Qaeda by Bush "an extraordinary achievement" without ever mentioning Bush.

Appears that Obama is sending almost 600 US soldiers to Iraq to do two things:
A. Help evacuate our enormous embassy in the Green Zone.
B. To erase all emails between Obama and the government of Iraq. There must not be any email showing Obama´s support of Iraq, its military or President Maliki. Same erasure policy as the IRS.

Now, now. That does not exclude a security solution. While we won´t engage in combat, our Special Forces may have to participate in security skirmishes from time to time.
We gave messiah authority to change the definitions of words: keep, marriage, victory, etc.. This will not end well.

Clearly Obama started out by knocking down another of his straw men, as nobody has proposed sending tens of thousands of US ground troops into Iraq. By sending a small numbers of special forces there with little direct support, there could well be another lone survivor situation occur if those special forces are sent on ground surveillance and ground to air control targeting missions out on the battlefield.

Just as his changed ROE in Afghanistan got so many of our military killed - basically, they must shoot at us first before we can engage (kill) the enemy.

These men are being given plastic swords to fight against our own fire power stolen by this muzzie militia.

The Status of Forces Agreement was impossible to execute because zippy and Biden told Maliki he needed Parliamentary approval, at a time when he was struggling to build a government. Impossible. Never done before. Typical for this administration / regime.

What´s Jeremiah Wright´s quote, "America´s chickens have come home to roost?" zippy owns this and if he thinks these 300 will solve the problem, he´s wrong AGAIN,

He missed a golden opportunity to bomb their convoys when they were on open roads and not near cities where lots of collateral damage would have occurred.

All this will accomplish is to get more American soldiers killed an/or wounded. Obozo´s track record says that even if those 300 come up with unbelivable intelligence about the ISIS and what they plan to do, he simply won´t do any thing with it. It´s not in American (his) interest, don´t cha know.

The Appeaser-in-Chief is only doing what he does, trying to please both sides. Yes, we are sending help, no we are not sending combat troops and they will not be fighting.

It will get real interesting when the "advisers" are attacked and they begin to do what Special Forces do naturally, kill people and break things. But that´s a concern for tomorrow.

The special House committee probing the fatal Benghazi attacks has yet to announce whether former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be subpoenaed to testify, but the investigation nevertheless looms like a storm cloud over her potential 2016 presidential candidacy. Those running the committee are taking their time hiring investigators and staff. The schedule, it seems, threatens to leak into the unofficial -- and increasingly early -- start of the presidential campaign season. And it could undermine the launch of

Yes, it is true that there was no al-Qaeda in Iraq when George W. Bush took office. But it is equally true that there was essentially no al-Qaeda in Iraq remaining when Barack Obama took office. Which makes Bush responsible for the terrible costs incurred to defeat the 2003–09 jihadist war engendered by his invasion. We can debate forever whether those costs were worth it, but what is not debatable is Obama’s responsibility for the return of the Islamist insurgency that had been routed by the time he became president.By 2009, al-Qaeda in Iraq had been not just decimated but

What would an effective quick response to the catastrophic civil wars in Iraq and Syria look like? Sometimes in foreign policy, as in sports, it can be useful to visualize the right technique — and then hit the ball.Good policy here begins by understanding that the United States should not take the side of Iraq’s Nouri al-Maliki in his sectarian war against the Sunni insurgents. Sending U.S. fighters or drones to bomb the new extremist strongholds in Mosul and Tikrit would, as retired Gen. David Petraeus argued Wednesday, turn the United States into Maliki’s air force and deepen the Sunni-Shiite chasm.
