Looking So Good It Hurts: New Bill
Would Let FTC Regulate Photoshop

Daily Caller, by Giuseppe Macri

Looking too good could literally become a crime under newly proposed federal legislation, which would give the Federal Trade Commission power to regulate Photoshop image editing software use in advertising and other media. The Truth in Advertising Act of 2014 or “Anti-Photoshop Act” was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives earlier this year by Florida Republican Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen along with Democrats Lois Capps of California and Theodore Deutch of Florida. If enacted, the bill will empower the FTC to regulate and reduce the use of Photoshopped images in media. “The Truth in Advertising Act has already sparked more awareness of

Would that include likenesses of Hillary and Mooch? Please to not ever print anything showing then without drastic photoshopping.

How do you expect Hillary to get her makeup done without Photoshop? And besides that, you don´t really think all of the women you like on the net got that way by themselves, do you?

What´s next, no digital effects in movies, no cartoons because they alter reality, no diffusion on lights or lenses because it could hide wrinkles or create a less than real picture? What about auto-tune for tone deaf singers like madonna, WillIam, (any reality star)? That´s not real singing so technically it´s deception. What about makeup on tv for newscasters? Where does it end? How about we ban plastic surgery as well. There is always a rino in there to give cover to statism. Unfortunately she is my local rino.

There will naturally be an exemption for women running for higher office. Otherwise, how could PIAPS avoid looking like a blubbery Gagool?

I find this actually an interesting question. Let´s go one further. Would you as a juror accept photographic evidence in a trial? I wouldn´t.

No one questions the truth in advertising (other than to think it should apply to political ads) as a good thing that makes it harder to sell snake oil (not impossible, obviously). When does a photograph become a work of an artists imagination. If a picture is a significant portion of an advertisement, should it not be required to be truthful.

I am sure, however, that the government is incapable of any rational behavior in this area.

This is plainly unenforceable and a stupid idea. It will therefore pass and be used only against Republican "negative" (telling the truth about a Democrat) advertising.

To add to the strength of this bill it should be required that all Photoshop work will be reviewed and personally approved by every senator and congressperson . . . that will assure that it is fair to everyone, and as an added bonus we will get to see what Hillary really looks like in her tent like pantsuits!

If I close my eyes, I can remember the first apartment where I lived with my family in Newark, N.J., in the late 1930s. The rooms were lined up like train cars—you had to go through one to get to another—and there wasn´t any heat or hot water. Heat came from the kitchen stove that ran all day on coal, and if you needed hot water for a bath or to wash, a huge kettle was put up. Fortunately, when I was 6, my family moved to Stephen Crane Village, Newark´s first low-income housing project. I thought we were rich. We

Democrats are giddy over the unsealing of “secret” documents that charge Scott Walker’s recall campaign with illegal coordination with outside conservative groups. To name just a few: USA Today: “Prosecutors: Wis. Gov. Scott Walker in criminal scheme.” Associated Press: “Prosecutors: Gov. Walker part of criminal scheme.” Washington Post: “How the State of Wisconsin alleges Scott Walker aides violated the law, in 1 chart.” If you didn’t know better, you might think this is a big story, highly damaging to one of America’s most successful governors. In fact, the current frenzy merely demonstrates the laziness and bias of reporters who don’t understand

Steve Scalise is known for giving his friends a little bit extra. In Louisiana, it’s called lagniappe. Anytime anyone did a favor for the Louisiana Republican — whether they made a call for him, or spoke up on behalf of a bill he favored — they would find themselves on the receiving end of lagniappe (LAN-yap), or a small unexpected gift. Sometimes it was a praline — Scalise has a basket of them sitting, wrapped in plastic, on a coffee table next to the couch in his office in the Rayburn House Office Building. LAWRENCEVILLE, Va. - Contrite federal officials apologized to residents of a tiny southern Virginia town Thursday night for keeping them in the dark as they prepared to bring in hundreds of Central American children and teenagers to a temporary shelter. We´re here to sort this out." He was speaking prior to the meeting. An overflow crowd packed the 900-seat Brunswick High School auditorium in the farming town of nearly 1,500. Many

Michelle Obama is trying to save the 2010 Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. And who isn’t for healthy and hunger-free kids, right? It turns out that it was a struggle for her and she’s got an idea about how the government can make it easier for others. In an interview with MSN’s Healthy Living, she made two particular statements that deserve further comment. Before coming to the White House, I struggled, as a working parent with a traveling, busy husband, to figure out how to feed my kids healthy, and I didn’t get it right. Our pediatrician had to pull me aside and point out some things that were going wrong.

The sample included two categories of applications: those which automatically qualify due to "categorical eligibility (by participating in certain public-assistance programs or meeting an

Hillary Clinton´s minions are hard at work assembling a political machine and fine tuning it for another go at the White House. Mrs. Clinton is doing her part preparing for a run as well, churning out a bland memoir about the "hard choices" she faced as secretary of state and coyly positioning herself (again) as the inevitable nominee of the party. But after the troubled beginning to her book tour, we´re beginning to see the reasons why Hillary may eventually decide to pull the plug on a 2016 presidential run. Here are five: 1) She´s just not that good at campaigning. If the last two gaffe-prone weeks have reminded us of anything about Hillary,
