IRS boss faces ‘cover-up’ claims ahead
of Hill hearing on missing emails

Fox News, by Mike Emanuel

Original Article

IRS Commissioner John Koskinen is facing accusations of a "cover-up" over the Tea Party targeting scandal, after claims surfaced that ex-official Lois Lerner´s hard drive was destroyed and emails from several other officials also have gone missing. The commissioner is set to face lawmakers at a Capitol Hill hearing on Friday before the House Ways and Means Committee. GOP lawmakers are furious after learning a week ago that many Lerner emails from a two-year period supposedly have disappeared. Committee Republicans now say that the IRS may have known about this for months, and that the agency may have lost emails from

Comments:
He shouldn´t be the only one facing "cover-up" claims. All of those involved with Lerner are involved and complicit in these crimes! That would include the criminals like Cummings, Schumer, et al in the Democrat party.

Talk about STATISTICAL ANOMALY! The seven lead suspects in the case all had catastrophic hard drive failures in a situation where the IT department broke all kinds of laws and regs by not doing systematic archiving.

Just a little hard to believe...

Subpoena all personnel in the IT department. Give them immunity and ask them to provide names of who told them to destroy evidence. Email servers have offsite backups. Iron Mountain have them.

First of all, the Republicans must refuse to refer to the missing emails as lost. They are not lost, they either have been destroyed or haven´t been turned over. Even if the computer crashed the emails can be recovered, because they are still physically on the disk. If they are gone it means they were scrubbed from the disk, which is a criminal act.

The state of their personal hard drives is immaterial, the sender and receivers and intervening servers have them, and there´s a regularly schedule backup procedure too. Congress could have private sector email consultants (the good ones) go in there and they could dig up the emails in short order. Of course, by law the IRS is also supposed to keep hard copies of emails so where are those - did their dog eat them?
I want to see a large number of those involved go away to prison for a long time. Look what they did to Wesley Snipes a few years ago - should be no different for them,, though I´d lean toward a firing squad for bureaucrats - they should be held to much higher standards since they have so much power.

Our so called leaders in Washington have let the American public down. No big deal that IRS emails have vanished, or that hard drives from Lerner´s computer were erased. No accountability in Washington until this November I guess.

It´s not a cover up. It´s all being done very openly and in our faces. The bureaucrats know the american people don´t give a damn as long as the unemployment/disability/welfare checks keep coming on time.

This IMPEACHES the media! If the hard disks wwere crashed where the timely requests for backup and restoration? Ask for the work orders, business logs, everything to do with the sending servers, receiving servers, back up tapes, individuals who were on duty, time cards, if they were in fact scrubbed. somebody had to have been paid overtime.

The emails are not "lost emails."

They are concealed and/or destroyed evidence.

There are probably at least three factors that are contributing to the current influx of unaccompanied minors at the border. Let´s consider them using some charts on the basic data. Before we get started on the factors, let´s note that everyone agrees the number of minors at the border has been roughly doubling every year since about 2011. This helpful chart comes from this report. It´s also important to note that this surge is not coming from Mexico but from countries in Central America. These are FY13 figures, the last complete year, but reports indicate FY14 figures are probably very

On Friday’s broadcast of PBS’s “NewsHour” New York Times columnist David Brooks and Creators Syndicate columnist Mark Shields took on the House Speaker John Boehner’s lawsuit against the Obama administration, which alleges oversteps in executive authority by the Obama White House. Both acknowledged Boehner’s gripe with the Obama administration had merit, but were skeptical of the lawsuit’s chances. However, they both also took on the alternative offered by former Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK), which was to impeach President Barack Obama. Both dismissed that course of action as well, with Brooks calling it “cloud cuckoo land.” Partial transcript as follows: WOODRUFF: So the Highway Trust

Everything Obama does is about politics. If he weren´t endlessly raising money for his hyper-partisan Democratic Party, he wouldn´t have even bothered to fly to Texas in the first place. The Department of Homeland Security has asked Catholic churches in California to temporarily house and feed groups of Central American migrants until 2016, according to an official at the diocese of San Bernardino. But any unpaid cooperation is legally questionable, because it may be intended to bypass Congress’ authority to fund — or to not fund — federal agencies’ new practice of distributing the flood of migrant families to homes across the country. The department “has reached out to the diocese and the bishop, and asked us to shelter families in transition,” Maria Christina Mendez, at the Office of Hispanic Affairs, told

The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee chairman sent a 37-page letter to the newly-created House Select Committee on Benghazi detailing attempts he claimed were made to sidestep providing documents and answering questions about the attack from September 2012 until May 2014. Issa said the State Department promised to cooperate with Congress but failed to actually provide information requested and missed many

Reverend Jesse Jackson sat down with Greta Van Susteren on Fox tonight and basically took on President Obama for pushing for billions of dollars to help young illegal immigrants at the border, but not making that kind of commitment to places like Chicago. Jackson said helping these poor children is obviously a good, moral thing to do, but Obama can’t just “abandon urban America” in the process. Jackson said that there is a crisis going on in Chicago right now, with guns and drugs coming into the city while more jobs are heading out. The facts are simple. The IRS systematically targeted conservative and Tea Party groups after their activism proved decisive in the 2010 midterm elections—Obama’s famous “shellacking.” The effects of this targeting were widespread. Some Tea Party groups were neutered in the months before the 2012 presidential election. Few of the explanations or justifications of this targeting provided by IRS leaders and Obama administration officials have held up. IRS officials at first denied that any targeting had taken place. That was false. They later claimed that the targeting had involved only low-level employees in the Cincinnati office. That was false. They argued
