Pelosi: ‘They Need a New
Technology System at the IRS’

National Review Online, by Joel Gehrke

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) regards the loss of former IRS official Lois Lerner’s emails only demonstrates that the agency needs to upgrade its technology, rather than a cause to suspect a cover-up related to the targeting of Tea Party groups. “What it convinces me [of] is that they need a new technology system at the IRS,” Pelosi told reporters. “They need to upgrade their technology, get it right, so that there’s no suspicion about what agenda anyone may have on that.” The IRS says that two years’ of Lerner’s emails were lost due to a hard drive

Ahh yes, doing what those Marxist Democrats do best, ask for more money that never repairs their incompetence, lawlessness and criminal behavior.

They think we will swallow anything.

The real problem is that the government is not spending enough money.

Next step? Find a way to blame it on George W. Bush.

This crew is really something. If the issues were not so serious, it could be a sitcom.

Once again the Progs beat the GOP to the toss. Boehner will cough up billions of our money to ´fix´ the IRS. If he doesn´t the GOP will take the blame for all that is wrong at that agency.

You´d think the Dems would get tired of slapping the GOP around but it never gets tiresome to them.

The technology didn´t fail unless the IRS people deliberately made it fail. IRS techs have come forward and described a competent, well funded IT system. It is required BY LAW that these systems be backed up. We would have to believe that Lerner´s system failed and the backup system failed and the systems of all the other people who´s email is "missing" also failed. For such a catastrophic failure, I´m surprised Washington is still standing because it would have taken a nuclear strike to do that much damage.

They need a new administration at the IRS, one that severely limits the abuses that have been rampant over the last few years. Further, the Congress needs to severely curb the IRS.

This is why people do not want their personal information in possession of the government. They cannot be trusted and they are apparently outside the reach of the law.

National Republican leaders are toasting primary season as a smashing success over activist conservatives that has put the hard right on the ropes and given the Washington GOP the slate of candidates it wanted for 2014. Those victories, however, have come at a staggering cost — and Republicans are painfully aware of the price of putting down an intraparty insurrection. Establishment-aligned groups have already spent some $23 million on independent expenditures propping up favored House and Senate candidates in contentious primaries, according to a POLITICO review of Federal Election Commission records. The sheriff´s department had previously held inmates up to 48 hours past their scheduled release dates so that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) could take those who would potentially be deported, including illegal aliens, into custody directly from jail. Now, the sheriff´s department will call ICE shortly before these inmates leave jail so that immigration authorities can pick them up as they

The speaker had been weighing such a lawsuit in recent days, over concerns that Obama exceeded his constitutional authority with executive actions. The lawsuit has not yet been filed. But asked Wednesday whether he intended to proceed, Boehner said: "I am." The decision to sue would still have to be formally approved by a group of House leaders. At immediate issue is two years of subpoenaed e-mails from former IRS official Lois Lerner to outside agencies, lost in a convenient computer crash. The possible involvement of other agencies is one focus of a congressional investigation into the heightened IRS scrutiny of conservative nonprofit groups before the 2012 election.
