Iraqi militants catalog

WASHINGTON — The militant group that exploded onto the scene in Iraq this year has been carefully cataloging its brutalities over recent years in an annual report published online, according to a think-tank that has analyzed the latest publication. The report from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant — known as ISIL or ISIS — records in explicit detail the number of assassinations, suicide bombings, knifings and even "apostates run over," according to the analysis by the Institute for the Study of War. The latest report covers last year, before ISIL´s successes in Anbar province and Mosul in northern Iraq. The

Comments:
This is yet another example of journalistic malpractice. This report suggests that these murdering savages function as a "military organization." And that differs from a "terrorist strategy of wreaking havoc in an effort to undermine the legitimacy of the state." That´s exactly what they are doing!! Never is "caliphate" mentioned and that that is their sole purpose. He should have advised readers that that is their goal for the entire world.

Asked about Rep. Peter King’s continued attacks on him, Sen. Ted Cruz told CNN’s Erin Burnett on Tuesday, “I’ve never met him. To be honest, I don’t think I had ever heard of him until he started getting on television attacking me.” And so continued the verbal volleying between the two outspoken lawmakers on the cable news shows. Rep. King recently called Cruz a fraud, joining Democrats in blaming the Texas senator for the government shutdown in 2013. After Dave Brat’s stunning defeat of Eric Cantor in Virginia last week, King again went after Cruz, warning on MSNBC, “We can’t

At a time when debate is swirling over the assertion that 97 percent of scientists endorse man-made global warming, Secretary of State John Kerry – a frequent citer of the 97 percent figure – in a speech Wednesday nudged the figure up to “at least 98, 99 percent.” “When it comes to climate change, when it comes to food security, we are literally facing a moment of adversity – perhaps even dire necessity,” Kerry said at a State Department food security award ceremony. “It’s hard to convince people – hard to convince people of a challenge that isn’t immediately tangible

Retired Air Force Lt. Gen. WASHINGTON – The leader of the House intelligence panel said last week he is confident that Congress will pass cybersecurity legislation this year, despite public perception of U.S. intelligence overreach driven by intense media scrutiny. Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said that he is “extremely optimistic” Congress can pass an information-sharing bill for cybersecurity this year. The Michigan Republican said that he met with the leaders of the Senate Intelligence Committee last week. “That was one of the most productive meetings I thought we had this year on this issue, and I am back to being extremely optimistic

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch posted an editor’s note online today informing readers they would no longer be carrying George Will‘s column after a controversial column he penned last week about rape and progressivism. Will said progressive thought made the idea of a rape victim a “coveted status” on college campuses that comes with certain privileges, a point that earned him condemnation from the National Organization for Women and a number of Democratic senators. The Washington Post is standing by Will for now, but the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, which has syndicated Will’s column for a time, has dropped it, and they

The Politico report cited two anonymous sources, as well as Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, who confirmed that the Senate Finance Committee had been told that the hard drive had been discarded. White man truly speak with forked tongue. In a ruling as slippery as Bill Clinton’s famous definition of what the meaning of the word “is” is, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office decided Wednesday to cancel the Washington Redskins‘ trademarks. President Obama suggested in October that the football team should “think about changing” its name, and here we are in June, and the administration is trying to force it to comply. Funny how that works. Federal trademark law doesn’t allow registration of a trademark that “may disparage” individuals or groups or “bring them into contempt or disrepute.” That little helper

Al Qaeda in Iraq has nothing to worry about. Not unless it starts mislabeling fish caught in protected maritime zones. Or fails to state the supply chain for its seafood. Secretary of State John Kerry is directing federal agencies to work together to develop a program to combat seafood fraud. Since there isn’t even a program yet, just a directive to create a program, it will be 10 years before various agencies ‘work together’ to hilarious effect, like when the federal Endangered Species Act tried to restore the Paiute cutthroat trout but was blocked by by the Wilderness Act because

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Patent Office ruled Wednesday that the Washington Redskins nickname is "disparaging of Native Americans" and that the team´s federal trademarks for the name must be canceled. The 2-1 ruling comes after a campaign to change the name has gained momentum over the past year. The team doesn´t immediately lose trademark protection and is allowed to retain it during an appeal. Redskins owner Daniel Snyder has refused to change the team´s name, citing tradition, but there has been growing pressure including statements in recent months from President Barack Obama, lawmakers of both parties and civil rights groups.

In what some see as the first step to forcing the Washington Redskins football team to change their name, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Wednesday cancelled six federal trademarks of the team name because it´s “disparaging” to Native Americans. “Petitioners have shown by a preponderance of the evidence that a substantial composite of Native Americans found the term REDSKINS to be disparaging,” said the decision. Fans, however, won’t see any immediate change — even if Daniel Snyder’s team eventually loses in court. That’s because all the order will do is eliminate the trademark the team has on merchandise. The Redskins are expected to appeal.

Hillary Clinton´s minions are hard at work assembling a political machine and fine tuning it for another go at the White House. Mrs. Clinton is doing her part preparing for a run as well, churning out a bland memoir about the "hard choices" she faced as secretary of state and coyly positioning herself (again) as the inevitable nominee of the party. But after the troubled beginning to her book tour, we´re beginning to see the reasons why Hillary may eventually decide to pull the plug on a 2016 presidential run. Here are five: 1) She´s just not that good at campaigning. If the last two gaffe-prone weeks have reminded us of anything about Hillary,

Yesterday, it was announced the Obama administration had moved on Sunday to arrest a Benghazi al-Qaeda leader Ahmed Abu Khattala. Many people, including Fox’s James Rosen pointed particular questions to the State Dept. about “why now”?
