Kerry: ´At Least 98, 99 Percent of

At a time when debate is swirling over the assertion that 97 percent of scientists endorse man-made global warming, Secretary of State John Kerry – a frequent citer of the 97 percent figure – in a speech Wednesday nudged the figure up to “at least 98, 99 percent.” “When it comes to climate change, when it comes to food security, we are literally facing a moment of adversity – perhaps even dire necessity,” Kerry said at a State Department food security award ceremony. “It’s hard to convince people – hard to convince people of a challenge that isn’t immediately tangible

Comments:
He forgot to include in the headline, 99 percent of all the radical insane leftist scientists believe....It is absolutely horrifying to see that this is what he is focusing on while the world burns and murder and mayhem is occurring daily.

He is so full of it! Follow the money. Read "State of Fear" by Michael Crighton. He and Albore are set to make millions more once this is put in place. They shut down the scientists who disagree with them.

As indicated in the article, the claim is false and has been debunked.

I have seen no EVIDENCE that human-caused CO2 is a major factor in any observed climate change. If Kerry knows of any he is obligated to produce it to substantiate his assertions.

If human-caused CO2 is a major factor, please explain why CO2 emissions have risen over the past 20 years while temperatures have remained flat. Science is based on theories and hypotheses that agree with empirical measurements. NO scientific hypothesis that has been formulated so far agrees with the observed data, which science DEMANDS before a hypothesis is adopted!

So far, we can safely say:

1. Increased atmospheric CO2 will have an impact on global atmospheric temperatures

2. Human activities have caused increases in atmospheric CO2

The real question is HOW SIGNIFICANT is the contribution of human-caused CO2 to any observed atmospheric temperature change AFTER accounting for ALL OTHER possible causes (such as sun activity, changes in water vapor [the dominant greenhouse gas] changes in cloud cover, etc.)?

All would agree that if I were to urinate in the Pacific Ocean it would contribute to a rise in seal level. All would also agree that the contribution would not be SIGNIFICANT! The same test must be applied to human-caused CO2!

I´m also a scientist, and know many scientists who view this theory with skepticism. I would go so far to say that "belief" is not "science". It would mean something if Kerry could say: "99% of scientists can PROVE AGW". But he cannot say that. What a tool.

Another scientist here, with twenty publications in top journals, agreeing with my two colleagues above: a substantial percentage of those in the science biz scoff at the notion of anthropgenic climate change, myself among them - with one more on the way: my son, in his senior year as a chemistry major, who doesn´t buy it either. Were it not for the government bribing climate alarmists with preferential grant money, the uber-liberal bubble that most scientists must work in, and the alarmist cabal attempting to freeze out any dissenting voices, I suspect that "deniers" would be a clear majority, since the actual science gives better support to their arguments.

The headline says climate change. Then they jump to man-made global warming. What is the subject of the discussion? 100% of climate scientists may believe in climate change, but how can they believe humanity is causing global warming, since it is NOT WARMING. Naturally it warmed since the Little Ice Age, but there has been no warming for 17 years, while CO2 has risen; therefor there is no correlation.
I have a geography degree, and I find the concept ridiculous. There is no global warming, and it certainly hasn´t been proven that human activity can affect global climate.

Virtually every key House Republican, from Speaker John Boehner on down, has vowed to oppose a conference committee with the Senate´s immigration bill passed last year. And lawmakers working to craft legislation to address the tens of thousands of children streaming across the southern U.S. border say it won´t touch citizenship for illegal aliens, increased visas, or any other topics than border security. But a key veteran of the immigration wars on Capitol Hill is warning that legislation to amend a 2008 law being cited for cumbersome, years-long deportations would theoretically open the door to a conference committee on the controversial

President Obama’s defiant emphasis on executive action reveals a larger failure looming for his legacy: His inability to work with Republicans means that he’s unlikely to score even one significant legislative achievement over the final years of his presidency. Unless Democrats win back the House and hold onto the Senate in November, a scenario dismissed by most political analysts, Mr. Obama has said goodbye long ago to his biggest accomplishments in Congress. They occurred back in 2010, when Democrats controlled the House and Senate, and Mr. Obama signed into law Obamacare, the Dodd-Frank Wall Street reform act and a two-year extension

The Emergency Alert System, the latest version of a program first established in 1951, blasts out emergency messages in the event of local weather emergencies, but can also be used to warn Americans about terror attacks and major natural disasters. [Snip] It can take up to 10 minutes for every radio, TV, cable and satellite provider to

The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. They’ve just learned they will no longer be allowed to buy Chick-fil-A

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security. School Shootings: Widely Reported Tragedies Since 2000 - Using firearm trace data from the ATF, as well as FBI homicide records, we determined the types of guns most often recovered from crime scenes and/or used in murders. Senate Budget Committee ranking member Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has warned all of his colleagues in Congress that President Barack Obama’s new immigration strategy—his plans to legalize millions of illegal alien adults through executive power—could destroy America as we know it. “I write to inform you of a development that threatens the foundation of our constitutional Republic,” Sessions, Congress’s top immigration hawk, wrote in a letter that was hand-delivered to all 535 members of Congress on Monday and provided exclusively to Breitbart News. Sessions cites a recent report from the National Journal, in which reporter Major Garrett detailed how, despite the ongoing

Attorney General Eric Holder encouraged Americans not to forget race while working for justice and equality in their country. “As it stands, our society is not yet color blind -- nor should it be -- given the disparities that still afflict and divide us.” Holder explained, “We must be color brave, and we must never forget that all are made better and more prosperous if all are given equal opportunities.” Holder made his remarks during a speech at Howard University on Tuesday for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Civil Rights Act. “We must take into account not only the

WASHINGTON — It was an enduring image of his presidency: a chastened Bill Clinton walking his dog while wife Hillary keeps her distance as the family leaves town at the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal — but it was all part of a contrived public-repentance campaign, according to a new book. With Bill on the skids and his wife’s future prospects on the line, it was necessary for the pubic to see the president being punished, said Weekly Standard online editor Daniel Halper in his new book, “Clinton, Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine.” “They understood that

President Obama is known for being competitive on the basketball court, but he´s also apparently a cutthroat pool player. Gov. John Hickenlooper, D-Colo., told reporters at the National Governors Association meeting on Sunday that the president surprised him by beat him in two consecutive games. To add insult to injury, the two were playing at the Wynkoop Brewing Company, a bar that Hickenlooper co-founded. "You know I´ll tell ya -- the man is a shark," Hickenlooper told reporters, Time reports. "I was up a few balls. I felt pretty good. I was actually wondering whether how hard should I --
