Dallas County commissioners
unwittingly back slavery reparations

Morning News [Dallas, TX], by Matthew Watkins

Original Article

The Dallas County Commissioners Court declared Tuesday that African-Americans deserve reparations for slavery, even though most commissioners didn’t seem to know that they were doing so. The issue arose in a resolution written by John Wiley Price, the county’s only black commissioner. Described only as a “Juneteenth Resolution,” it was approved unanimously. Other commissioners admitted after their meeting Tuesday that they hadn’t read the document before voting for it. Commissioner Mike Cantrell, the court’s lone Republican, later changed his vote to an abstention. “The reason why I didn’t abstain this morning is that I had not received a copy of

John Wiley Price has been a local joke for way too long, but it appears the Commissioners Court are willing dupes.

If the name John Wiley Price sounds familiar, it is. He is the idiot who went ballistic over the term ´black hole´ as spoken by a white commissioner. Google it; there is video.

The stupidity of the left is breathtaking.

Our representatives do not now take up their precious time reading the resolutions they vote for. Perhaps someone will submit a revocation of all taxes, and dismissal of all government employees, next session.

There were 2 John Wiley Price and Linda Ragsdale.

Only Price is left to foist this sort of stupidity on the residents of Dallas County. Someone should ask Price how he gets his expensive cars?

Rick Perry Unloads On President
Obama’s Failure To Secure Border

In a nearly 10-minute tirade Thursday at a luncheon for Washington D.C.-based political reporters, Texas Republican Gov. Rick Perry slammed the Obama administration for its failure to secure the border and warned of a magnified humanitarian crisis if a major hurricane hits the United States. Prompted by a reporter’s question about the influx of children flowing over the southern border, Perry said the crisis represented a “failure of diplomacy” by the Obama administration and wondered what might happen if a major hurricane hit the U.S. while the country was still housing thousands of undocumented children.

On the frontline of the battle against ISIS, the Kurds defending Kirkuk say they have no intention of losing any land to the jihadist militia. Baghdad take note. Kirkuk, Iraq - Every few minutes a couple of the half-dozen howitzers would jolt back, triggering deafening cracks and sending shells hurtling towards jihadist positions in the village of Malla Abdullah fifteen kilometers from Kirkuk. One 122mm salvo startled a stray donkey and he charged off braying irritably down a deserted road now hardly used because of the risk of jihadist rocket attacks or the possibility of roadside bombs. “I wouldn’t go any further,” cautioned

The events of the last few weeks have been gut wrenching for many active duty members of the military and veterans. We have watched the Veterans Affairs (VA) health care scandal unfold, the absurdly lopsided trade of Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl in exchange for five top-level Taliban commanders, and now the loss of hard-won Iraqi cities to ISIS (the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) following the premature withdrawal of all U.S. troops from that country. Through these events, the gaping disconnect between the would-be world inhabited by President Obama and his allies in the media and academia, and the reality

In the key battleground states that will decide control of the Senate this November, President Obama´s approval numbers are lower than they are nationally — but not much lower. That´s the key finding in a new poll, conducted by Democrat Stan Greenberg of Democracy Corps and Republican Whit Ayres of Resurgent Republic, that sampled likely voters for NPR. In the 12 states with competitive Senate races this fall, only 38 percent of likely voters said they approved of the way the president is handling his job. An index of all national polls shows the president´s approval rating about 4 percentage points higher

After a humiliating censure by Congress four years ago for failing to pay taxes and other ethical lapses, Representative Charles Rangel has steadily lost power in Washington. After nearly 44 years in office, it is now time for him to yield to the next generation. In Tuesday’s Democratic primary for New York’s 13th Congressional District, we recommend Adriano Espaillat, a New York State senator, who will be a better representative of this district stretching from Upper Manhattan into parts of the Bronx. Mr. Espaillat has been spent his 18 years in the States Legislature, mostly fighting for tenants, day-care staff and

Brian Schweitzer is nothing if not unusual. Just Tuesday, we cautioned that the former Montana governor should never be viewed through the lens of traditional political logic -- or even logic writ large. And now Schweitzer just proved us right. The governor, who has somewhat inexplicably turned into a hero of some on the political left, can probably say goodbye to that niche in the 2016 Democratic presidential primary. And in the process, he gave the GOP a little ammunition to fight back against Democratic charges of its supposed "war on women" and its insensitivity toward the GLBT community. Madison — Prosecutors allege that Gov. Scott Walker was at the center of an effort to illegally coordinate fundraising among conservative groups to help his campaign and those of Republican senators fend off recall elections during 2011 and ´12, according to documents unsealed Thursday. In the documents, prosecutors lay out what they call a "criminal scheme" to bypass state election laws by Walker, his campaign and two top deputies — R.J. Johnson and Deborah Jordahl. The governor and his close confidants helped raise money and control spending through 12 conservative groups during the recall elections, according to the prosecutors´ filings.

NARRAGANSETT, R.I. -- A developer who mistakenly built a $1.8 million waterfront house on parkland has been ordered to remove it. The Rhode Island Supreme Court found that the Narragansett home was built entirely on land owned by the Rose Nulman Park Foundation, and therefore must be removed. The developer, Four Twenty Corp., began building the home in 2009, but it didn´t discover the error until 2011 when it tried to sell the house and the prospective buyers got a survey. Robert Lamoureux, who owns the company, then contacted one of the park´s trustees to try to work something out, but she

Iraq is a disaster. And yes, President Obama has made ghastly mistakes for which he is directly responsible. Yet the current situation in Iraq isn’t Obama’s fault. Or George W. Bush’s. Not to mention Bill Clinton´s, George H.W. Bush´s or Ronald Reagan’s. But Jimmy Carter? Yes. There’s the man who should be called to account. In fact, it was during Carter’s single term in office that Iran became an Islamic fundamentalist terror state and that Saddam orchestrated a coup to take power in Iraq, launching the Iraq-Iran War and a megalomaniacal career as a mass murderer. WASHINGTON -- The U.S. Patent Office ruled Wednesday that the Washington Redskins nickname is "disparaging of Native Americans" and that the team´s federal trademarks for the name must be canceled. The 2-1 ruling comes after a campaign to change the name has gained momentum over the past year. The team doesn´t immediately lose trademark protection and is allowed to retain it during an appeal. Redskins owner Daniel Snyder has refused to change the team´s name, citing tradition, but there has been growing pressure including statements in recent months from President Barack Obama, lawmakers of both parties and civil rights groups.

In what some see as the first step to forcing the Washington Redskins football team to change their name, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Wednesday cancelled six federal trademarks of the team name because it´s “disparaging” to Native Americans. “Petitioners have shown by a preponderance of the evidence that a substantial composite of Native Americans found the term REDSKINS to be disparaging,” said the decision. Fans, however, won’t see any immediate change — even if Daniel Snyder’s team eventually loses in court. That’s because all the order will do is eliminate the trademark the team has on merchandise. The Redskins are expected to appeal.

Hillary Clinton´s minions are hard at work assembling a political machine and fine tuning it for another go at the White House. Mrs. Clinton is doing her part preparing for a run as well, churning out a bland memoir about the "hard choices" she faced as secretary of state and coyly positioning herself (again) as the inevitable nominee of the party. But after the troubled beginning to her book tour, we´re beginning to see the reasons why Hillary may eventually decide to pull the plug on a 2016 presidential run. Here are five: 1) She´s just not that good at campaigning. If the last two gaffe-prone weeks have reminded us of anything about Hillary,
