IRS Was Required By Law to
Print Out Lois Lerner’s Emails

Daily Caller, by Patrick Howley

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 6/17/2014 6:02:31 PM

The Internal Revenue Service is required by federal law to keep records of all agency emails and to print out hard copies of the emails to make sure they get saved in the event of a computer glitch. The IRS recently claimed that it lost 24,000 of 67,000 emails that ex-official Lois Lerner sent between 2009 and 2011, due to a computer crash. The IRS, which agreed to turn over all of Lerner’s emails to the House Committee on Ways and Means, specifically lost emails Lerner sent to other Obama administration agencies and the White House. Lerner is a major figure in the targeting scandal that has hit the IRS.

I would have thought that some government employee hereabouts had already mentioned the enforced retention policy in EVERY agency about keeping all media, including electronic and for how long. Our little ol´ tiny (by comparison) agency must keep a director´s paper copies of memos, letters, reports etc., for 3 years current and FOR TEN YEARS after he retires. That means if he left a sticky note attached to some obscure hand-written letter, you will keep it for 10 years after he retires. If he got FIRED, you will keep it as long as there is life on earth.

The law without enforcement is meaningless to immoral people. To obama, his minions, Democrats and the Federal democrat bureaucracy the law is not to be followed if it gets in their way. They also know there will be no consequences because the Republicans are just bystanders and nothing more.

When he IRS audits a taxpayer, it has the authority to impute income and/or disallow deductions and it is up to the taxpayer to prove, with documentation, them wrong. In other words, guilty until proven innocent. I´d like to see the congressional investigation take that position - charge Lerner, Obama, Durbin and anyone else involved with the conspiracy and cover-up we all know they were a part of and leave it up to them to prove otherwise. Maybe then some of these lost documents would mysteriously appear in the WH residence.

In a typical application of email not only are the emails stored on a server but that server is also backed up more often than daily. And as backup drives fill up they are retired to a storage locker and replaced with new drives. The company I work for has about 1000 employees. The IT department retires a full backup hard drive about once per week.
They lockers filled with retired drives.
I can get an exact copy of the contents of my online company storage from 5 or more years ago if I wanted.

My worst case was asking for a copy from about a year ago. It took them about a week to fill my order and find that hard drive, hook it up, and retrieve my old data. And it got some data back that I had unknowingly deleted some time in the past year.

This is standard IT practice today. I´ve no doubt that Lerner´s emails are backed up on multiple hard drives.

Unless she was using a local PC email system which is not backed up and totally against all the rules. But we have heard about how the Obama administration has been using fake name gmail accounts to circumvent the required system.

#12´s comment brings back to memory former EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson´s use of a fake name (Richard Windsor) and account to circumvent the government´s email rules. With that as a precedent, suspicions about Lerner doing likewise are well-founded.

Enough, already.

So based on the IRS manual quoted in the article, Lerner was responsible for the hardcopy back up. Thus, she violated Federal Law by not backing up her emails. The House should charge her and then throw her in the House jail. She will start to cooperate when life in the House prison (without redress of Holder´s DOJ or the corrupt Federal Judicial branch) and the lack of freedom sink in.

Considering the sundry enthusiasms upon which government at all level spends our money — Harry Reid’s bovine literary interests, helping out those poor struggling people who own Boeing — it is remarkable that the job of apprehending a known felon, once deported from the United States and illegally present in Texas, fell to volunteers in Brooks County, near the Mexican border. Brooks County, like many other border areas, is overrun with illegal immigrants, and the cost of burying those illegals who die in transit, which can run into the six figures annually, has forced the county to cut back on

Japan’s historic move to reinterpret the country’s postwar “peace constitution” this week and adopt a more active role in Asia-Pacific security comes none too soon for the United States. Right now, more than ever, Washington needs robust allies. In East Asia, the broader Middle East, the Sahel and Eastern Europe, extremists, sub-national groups and even hostile countries seek to take over territory and change borders and governments through coercion, intimidation and terrorism. Although these events might seem disparate and limited in scope, their number and frequency amount to a global challenge to the international order the United States has led since World

Ordinary Internet users, American and non-American alike, far outnumber legally targeted foreigners in the communications intercepted by the National Security Agency from U.S. digital networks, according to a four-month investigation by The Washington Post. Nine of 10 account holders found in a large cache of intercepted conversations, which former NSA contractor Edward Snowden provided in full to The Post, were not the intended surveillance targets but were caught in a net the agency had cast for somebody else. Many of them were Americans. Nearly half of the surveillance files, a strikingly high proportion, contained names, e-mail addresses or other details that the

On November 1, 2013, Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki visited the White House, and made a rather stunning request. Maliki, who celebrated when the last U.S. troops left his country in 2011, asked Obama for American drone strikes on his country again; that’s how serious the threat from Sunni insurgents led by the extremist group ISIS had become. By the time the Continental Congress declared independence in 1776, the British government had done quite a bit to provoke it. Colonists had been resisting Parliament´s authority for almost a decade. But many American patriots wanted to remain loyal to King George III right up until the American Prohibitory Act of December 1775. The king not only brushed aside the colonists´ legitimate grievances but declared them to be in rebellion and cast them outside royal protection. The act authorized a war against them — a naval blockade of their ports and the hiring of foreign mercenaries to suppress their rebellion.

Publicly, Obama has remained noncommittal on the 2016 race, but privately he worries that Clinton would undo and undermine many of his policies.
