When things change

Wikipedia has an article describing the six times Republican politicians suggested impeaching Barack Obama, the most serious of which was a hearing by the House Judiciary Committee “formally titled ‘The President’s Constitutional Duty to Faithfully Execute the Laws,’ that has been viewed as an attempt to begin justifying impeachment proceedings”. (Snip) The problem with the “Obama is unimpeachable” argument is that he has already been impeached as Leader of the Free World. Any observer of Obama’s collapse will have noted his marginalization in international councils. Britain flatly refused to go along with him in enforcing a Red Line in Syria.

Comments:
Obama´s institutional halitosis ensures that basically no one outside America´s Democrats wants anything to do with him. As a diplomatic junior partner, who really cares what he thinks about anything? Anything that doesn´t involve golfing, partying with his hiphop pals, raising money for the Democrats, or sitting on his butt holds no interest for him, and by now everyone knows it.

FTA: Events of the last few weeks have shown how rapidly collapse can come. But in fairness the problem is rooted not only in the feckless behavior of the White House, but also in the short sighted passivity of the Republican Party. The Founders knew there would be times like this. There would be incompetent presidents and “times that try men souls”. But they never imagined that the denizens in Washington would grow so timid they would actually refuse to open the emergency exit provided, even as a precaution.

There has been a sea change in the past few weeks, as everything Obama touches wilts and dies. World leaders are carrying on as though he were already gone, for in a sense he already is. As I have said before, it is no longer unthinkable that he could be removed from office before the end of his term. All it would require is the loss of about one-third of the Democrats in the U.S. Senate. Yes, I know they´re holding the bloc together presently, but there is a limit to what they´ll endure, especially if continuing to support Obama threatens the viability of the Party. With the economy about to dip back into recession after five and a half years of the most anemic recovery in a century and the world on fire, patience with this clown pretender grows short. If enough responsible people see the need to end the misery a couple of years early, that´s what will happen.

Why does anyone - GOP or Dem - continue to put up with this corrupt, anti-American SOB? Why?
It´s gotten to the point that any further ignoring of his lawbreaking is nothing more than complicity.

"World leaders", almost to a man and woman, have heralded Dear Leader Barack Hussein as the Second Coming as far back as 2008, even though the ridiculous hype was clearly never more than just that. To admit now that America´s "historic black president" is nothing but a malevolent fool is the same as admitting that one´s support for him has been incredibly stupid and ill-intended (fueled by the anti-USA bias almost unanimous among "world leaders"). That, simply, will not happen. The facade of King Barack The Great, Peace Prize Winner And Genius will be maintained. Outwardly, at least.

Not only massive rioting as mentioned by #3, but also widespread intensified Knockout gaming.

I´ve zigzagged on impeachment hearings but am now thinking that before taking that lethal step, leaders need to seize every opportunity to broadcast & clarify for the public Obama´s malfeasance and flaunting of the law & Constitution - and staying one-pointed on this. And the person who is most successful at it wins the nomination. HA! How about that.

And excuse me, but the right need to purge itself as much as possible of any racism because that too is part of the danger to us all and things could get increasingly dangerous the closer we get to hitting the administration´s nerves.

As long as the Press looks the other way, Obama will skate. Fox announced yesterday that not one t.v. network covered Lois Lerner´s "missing" 2 years (as opposed to Nixon´s 18 minutes) of e-mails this weekend, and the NY Times has yet to cover it at all. I personally have nothing but disgust for the Brian Williams´ of this world, who MUST convince themselves they are newsmen but.......... Only Ron Fournier of National Journal seems to be catching on to the huge Obama scam-----Iraq burns and Obama golfs. SO COOL!!!!!!!!

No way Obama is impeached. If you have ever worked in an office, you know EXACTLY what I mean.
The point that he has been impeached as leader of the free world is well-made, but he is not going anywhere.

Very very good.

He has truly become all chumps to all men. In the event the door to Iranian cooperation has been slammed shut. But just how desperate the administration was indicated by their willingness to chance it.

While very well thought-out, one cogent point is missing: Obama is not and will not be "desperate" so long as his Agencies do his bidding. It is through his Agencies that his agenda is getting passed, which makes Congress superfluous and even an annoyance to him. So long as he finds Congress apathetic to his lawlessness, he is sitting pretty.

The strongest argument for starting an impeachment process against Obama is that his presidency is going to collapse anyway and Republic will need a process to deal with that contingency whether Boehner likes it or not.

His presidency will not "collapse" so long as Congress and their various constituencies refuse to act. Name one important things Obama wanted that he has not gotten. Yet.

Maybe there are not enough votes to convict Obama in the Senate today, but in two month’s time there may well be and there needs to be a venue to cast them.

In two months, Obama can further damage America and make her a John Galt wasteland, which he is well on his way to doing. Just check the numbers of real unemployment, people who are now on welfare and job destruction, especially small businesses. He wanted to destroy capitalism, the coal industry, the educational system, American entrepreneurialism, and the Constitution; so far, I see no one with enough courage and power to put an end to his tidal wave of destruction.

Fernandez has put together a fine piece here. I could be optimistic if our Party and Congress as a while recognized the dire straits America is in at this moment. We don´t have two months to wait.

The reason we "put up with it" is because he has the Senate and the Democrats will not do the right thing. We must take the Senate. Turn out. VOTE.

Spot on. The catch, and it´s a doozy, is that those democrats who are still interested in the POTUS control the Senate. Even if the Republicans retake the majority, there is NO scenario where the Republicans can muster 67 Senate votes to convict Obama. Consequently, while the House could certainly vote Articles of Impeachment, the Senate would never convict him--even if they had a little blue dress with his forensics splattered on it or a photo of him actually defiling the Constitution in the Archives (as opposed to daily figurative defiling though his Unconstitutional governance). Besides, Obama would like impeachment. He´d pull the race card so fast, you´d think he dealt in Las Vegas. So I don´t quibble with the observations and conclusions that Obama is an international laughing stock who makes Neville Chamberlain look like Winston Churchill. But discussions of impeachment are useless. Look, if the House is too frightened to exercise its inherent authority to arrest Lerner for her contempt (especially in the face of the latest dog ate the e-mails insult) what makes any adult think that the House would ever consider impeachment?

Early on in Obama´s rise to the highest office in the land, I had conversations with people who proclaimed him to be a brilliant candidate for president. Having some experience in mental testing, I had a different view. The "brilliance" belief became widespread and persists to this day. Happily more and more people are now changing their opinion. Yesterday Brit Hume said that Obama is smart enough but not wise enough to be president.

He is malevolent and evil. But also happens to be a vapid, lazy, ineffectual donothing. Otherwise the devastation would have been quicker and more massive. The key is for Republicans to clearly establish themselves as the Party of Effective Governance, avoiding the traps of ´Constitutional´, ´Rule of Law´ etc. The MSM will do its best to shield the enabling ´Rats from the fallout. But that is where real political communication skills will come in. The question is - Does the current RINO leadership have what it takes?

This administration favors chaos as a major avenue of Fundamental Transformation. What if the preezy resigned due to stress or some other manufactured reason? That would be the ultimate chaos, and would make Bari a martyr. Sounds like a wild and crazy idea, but nothing this administration does resembles reality or sanity.

Why is the Mooch buying/ researching homes in N.C. and Rancho Mirage, Cal.? Are these just head fake moves, or are they planning an early exit before the collapse?

Since Obama is so, ahem, "medical", perhaps he should be compared to a tumor: unaddressed, allowed to grow it just gets more dangerous over time. Has it been getting worse over the past six months? Yes indeed.
As it stands, regardless if the power exists to impeach him now or later, we have the chance to go on offense now. Wait for Obama to just complete his term could put us all on defense, a less desirable tactical standing. With all the law breaking and destruction, does anyone really think he is leaving office, voluntarily? And why is Hillary taking so long to say whether she will run in 2016? Does she know what plans Obama has to stay in power?

Who cares if they riot re impeachment? We made it through Rodney King. Besides it will be a small price to pay to get our country back. They won´t riot long!

Obama must not be allowed to finish his term, the remaining time to go will just get worse and worse everyday and he, even weakened, still has many cards to play. We can´t afford it.

I doubt our Founding Fathers ever foresaw such a pathetic excuse for a Congress. And of course, Barack is the FBP so no way will he be impeached.

And as for any riots - let them riot. They usually burn down their own neighborhoods and it´s a perfect excuse to start cleaning house of a bunch of losers who have been nothing but a drain on the resources of this country.

With the November election drawing near, looking more and more likely that the Democrats will lose control of the Senate, the Republicans are, and should be, wary of pushing the impeachment issue at this time. To do so might be the proverbial snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. After the election, however, assuming the Republicans take control of the Senate, it will be Katy, bar the door!

Force the Feds to deport the illegals, hammer away on the economy, the VA scandals, the feckless and dangerous foreign policy, the KeyStone pipeline, the IRS Scandals, the epic fail that is Obamacare. Do not make an immigration deal that lets the illegals stay. Fight this POS Muslim Dufus in Chief.

All it would take to stop any rioting would be the announcement that looters will be shot on sight. Of course, most won´t believe the announcement, but a few dead looters lying in the streets will convince them.

As far as bringing back common practices which we´ve stopped doing in the last century, we need to start hanging traitors again. Not giving them sex change operations or lifelong Secret Service protection, 6 figure speaking fees and obscene pensions.

He won´t be impeached. The establishment republicans don´t want it. Even if they did want it they are too scared to make waves and upset the status quo. I would rather see them freeze all money to every agency that is making new rules and following Obama´s orders. That would eliminate all the power and damage that he can inflict over the next 2 years.

We all know what Reid and the Dems will do. That is not the point. The justifications for impeachment are in place, and the precedent must be established that no one - race or other identity pseudo immunity notwithstanding - no one is "unimpeachable".

IMO #1 has it right: enough Dems will finally worry enough about the future of their party and their agenda to throw the Emperor under the bus, just as the Emperor has done likewise to many among their ranks. After all, this Manchurian candidate is only a tool for a greater progressive cause. But that will happen after articles of impeachment are resubmitted once Reid is no longer majority leader. In their minds: one step backward ..

But the Pubs must impeach now, so that they can use it as an issue in NOvember to retake the Senate.

Congratulations to Richarddd Fernandez and PJMedia !
Not only is this a MUST READ, it must be nominated as a MUST READ A SECOND TIME ! If for no other reason than Richard quoted the genius of Tom Paine, Richard´s complex, but clear, overview also requires more study, review of this unprecedented overall crisis.

We all know "crisis" brings with it, "opportunity". As this ongoing series of continuing crises brings us to further presidential collapse, this is the irresistible time to question the authority gone criminal, to cry out to the total Washington and Pelley Sawyer Wiliams networks betrayal to the rest of our world, who continue in their censoring soft socialist denial. This is the time to awaken all of your loving but denying family and friends, and build a voting coalition from the ground up. This is the friendship risking time to smash into their infuriating denials of all of this now painfully obvious collapse Of common sense
This is the opportunity told be more daring in truth, than we have dared before. The truth now is so painfully obvious that we all must speak out like never before, take precedent setting risks.

This is precisely the time where each of us, like good detectives, can explain the details of the crime, reveal the methods of the real criminal, to the roomful of those house guests who had no idea what was going on.

Drudge, Breitbart, Rush, Glenn, Levin, FoxTV are giving us ammunition loud and clear. Now it´s our duty to speak up with all our denier friends, loud and clear !

If you impeach Jughead, you can say hello to President Biden. Most likely, ten years of Presicent Biden. Impeach the First Black President, and you will give the Dems a gold-plated election issue for years to come. Their base will turn out in droves to punish the "racist" Repulicans.

The goal here should be to survive the next 2.5 years. When there isn´t a black presidential candidate, that voting bloc will go back to the complacency that kept them home on every election day prior. So will the youth.

Didn´t we learn anything from the Clinton impeachment? He was acquitted, played the victim, and left the presidency with spectacularly high approval ratings.

We have a better chance of restoring sanity, honor, and integrity to our government in 2016 if we DON´T move to impeach.

People urging impeachment need to remember you need 2/3 of the Senate to support and vote for conviction. The Republicans may take back the Senate this fall but there´s no way they´ll get to 2/3 majority and no Democrat would dare vote for conviction. It ain´t gonna happen folks - he´s here to stay for the next two years, like it or not. Since there would be no conviction an impeachment would blow up in the Republicans face and might actually gain sympathy for Obama. You know the media would spin it as a racist attack on our poor, beleaguered President. The worst thing they could do is to attempt it before the 2014 elections. So, it looks like Obama and Holder can do pretty much anything they want to for the next two years.

While an excellent article, the major flaw in any impeachment of this president is that too many Democrats today lack the intellectual integrity and character to see the need to impeach Obama to save the Union. In fact, they agree with his usurption of power and see it as a positive to moving the country toward socialism and a bigger more powerful government. Listen to the Warren´s, Biden, Pelosi, Reid and others and it is clear they see no problem in what Obama is doing, and in fact encourage it.

The subject is illegal immigration in the voting booth and if Cantors free fall didn´t convince you than nothing will. This latest ploy by Obama to allow so called innocent children into the country by stealth advertising will backfire on him and he has finally overstepped the bounds of reason.

Meanwhile Hillary´s book is bombing, Democrat candidates are sweating and Obamas foreign policy is a big time disaster. I think the timing for impeachment is ripe and quite a few Democrats will go along with the process. After all they still will have Biden.

The largest obstacle to Impeachment is a House leadership that will not start Impeachment proceedings. This country is at risk and is being undermined daily by our own government. Winning the Senate in the next election will be almost impossible if the Republican Party sits by and does nothing.

Its sad, but that is their usual operational style in todays political world.

Obama will not finish his second term. The incompetence has become so widespread, the criminal acts so blatant and the lack of attention to his duties has become so flippant that he will be removed one way or the other. If congress doesn´t act, the people will act. He may have caused a lot of destruction to date but most of us are the same Americans who were around in 2008 and we are a whole lot smarter and angrier.

As for the inevitable race war, it´s coming anyway as long as the animals involved keep believing that they are somehow protected by the black messiah. When the chief lawbreaker gets his due, the rest of those who think they can ignore human decency and good behavior are in for a terrible lesson.

Obama will not be impeached. We have become too cowardly as a nation to take this bold and necessary step.

Plus, we are terrified of Blacks in this country.

#11 makes my point: "Obama would like impeachment. He´d pull the race card so fast, you´d think he dealt in Las Vegas."

And we are scared witless of what would then happen (e.g., Watts Riots x 100, but this time all over the country.) And this time with the DHS under Black leadership, and (thanks to watered down entry criteria) a higher % of Blacks in our police departments.

Am I saying that law enforcement of Black rioting would be lax? Yup!

So.....we will go on complaining about how heavy this yoke is, how it chafes us, but...we can bear it for another 2 & 1/2 years. The Founding Fathers would be so proud....

I really hadn´t thought of things that way, but it does seem the the largest obstacle to putting a stop to all of the shenanigans of that Obozo has pulled over the past 5+ years if Boehner. It appears that his higest priority is to maintain his position as Speaker of the House. And he is not going to do anything that will put that in jepordy. I just wish there was someone capable of voting him out come Jan. next year. If not, I really do fear of what this once great nation is going to become Jan. 2017. Somewhere, there has be be someone and someway to put the breaks on Obozo. I wish I knew how.

If the Republicans had any guts or brains, they would be on the floor of the Senate and on every TV and radio program they could and start listing Zippy´s impeachable offenses and compare them to what Nixon did. Rather then actually impeach Zippy, they should be reminding the American public every day that the leaders of the Republican party went to Nixon before impeachment proceedings were begun and urged him to resign for the good of the country (and the party). They should then be challenging the Democrats to urge Obama to resign for the good of the country (and the party).
Too many in this country are ignorant of history. People need to be reminded that Nixon was not actually impeached and what the so called impeachable offenses were compared to Zippy´s.

Just as soon as Israel accepted an Egyptian-brokered ceasefire Hamas fired 47 rockets killing one Israeli citizen. Anyone who has followed the conflict could have predicted this with certainty; the point of a ceasefire — for a terrorist organization — is to break it for exactly the same reason it purposely attacks women and children. Dr. Anna Geifman tried to explain that the reason why innocents are selected as terror targets is because “children are the last consecrated absolute”. That is just why they must be killed in the cruelest way possible. For “militant nihilism strives to ruin first and

Charlie Haden, who died on Friday at age 76, was one of the most revered and influential acoustic jazz bassists of his generation, largely because he was incapable of being dull. Rooted in folk and country music, Haden combined earthy simplicity with an engaging storytelling style that inspired and propelled the music of dozens of artists, from saxophonist Ornette Coleman and pianist Keith Jarrett to drummer Ginger Baker and singer Norah Jones. His conversational approach to improvisation forged a new model for post-1960 jazz bassists, resulting in four Grammys.

Bill Roggio has a very interesting article describing the ISIS plan to invest Baghdad. (Snip) As everyone now knows the campaign against US forces back in 2006 failed. The attackers were counter-encircled by US-led forces who established intelligence assets of their own to find and destroy the enemy. Much effort was put into tracking back weapons smuggling routes back to their sources, including explosively formed penetration IEDs whose cores were manufactured in Iran. US conventional units provided the “top cover” for the intel guys who went out to look for the enemy. Now ISIS is playing the same number on

Why Israel will soon be the only state able to govern Judea and Samaria, and the only military force capable of securing its borders. A one-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is upon us. It won’t arrive by Naftali Bennett’s proposal to annex the West Bank’s Area C, or through the efforts of BDS campaigners and Jewish Voice for Peace to alter the Jewish state. But it will happen, sooner rather than later, as the states on Israel’s borders disintegrate and other regional players annex whatever they can. As that happens, Israeli sovereignty in Judea and Samaria is becoming inevitable.

The initial reports from the Los Angeles Times described the massacre of almost 30 women in the Zayouna neighborhood of Baghdad as an unsolved mystery: “gunmen in Iraq reportedly kill at least 30 in upscale Baghdad area”. (Snip) It was not long before a more sinister motive made itself plain. The murder site was a brothel. The gunmen came in order to kill every one in it and teach the world an Islamic lesson. “Police believe men using silenced

The Democratic Party creates its coalition by catering to a diverse group of ethnic interest groups, and sometimes the special interests of those special interest groups clash. (Snip) It’s true that our government’s reaction to what’s happening on the border makes no sense if we ordinary people look at it conventionally. But it makes plenty of sense to Obama and others in his party who think it will give them a permanent and unbeatable majority in the not-too-distant future, as well as placate the huge Hispanic voting bloc in the present. And if their formerly reliable ethnic group, African Americans,

LYING FLAT ON THE deck of a fishing boat was a twenty-pound striped bass, its gills rising and collapsing like the bellows of an accordion. "Purple is the color of adrenaline. That´s why the bass have a purplish tint when you catch them," explained Captain Sloan Gurney of Black Rock Sport Fishing Charters. Standing over the fish, grinning triumphantly, was chef Anita Lo, who had just won the battle with the formidable opponent on the other end of her line. Ms. Lo´s blood could well have been purple at that moment—she was exhilarated. She caught six fish that afternoon in

John Seigenthaler, a legendary Tennessee journalist, intimate confidant to two near-presidents and fierce advocate for racial equality, died Friday. He was 86. Mr. Seigenthaler passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family. "We celebrate his life — his devotion to social justice, his advocacy of human rights, and his enduring loyalty to friends and family," said his son, John Michael Seigenthaler. "He was proud of his hometown, Nashville, and grateful for the opportunity to share his energy and passion with this community." CHATTANOOGA — In a move that is unusual but not unprecedented, the United Auto Workers union has sidestepped its loss in a worker vote in February and created a local union to represent workers at the Volkswagen plant in Tennessee. And what´s surprising, considering decades of fierce anti-union efforts from the other foreign-transplant automakers in the South, this time the union has the tacit approval of Volkswagen itself. "We have a consensus agreement with Volkswagen management to form the local and be recognized when we get a majority of the workers to join," said UAW International Secretary-Treasurer Gary Casteel of

By contrast, Israel has thrived under fire and is poised to become more prosperous than ever. (Snip) Eugene Volkh famously described how Asians in America became white. The process was simple: they became rich. This implicit correlation between wealth and race distorts nearly every media story. The U.S. deported Honduran children as young as 1-1/2 years old on Monday in the first flight since President Obama pledged to speed up the process of sending back illegal immigrant minors from Central America. In his message to the “Mexico/Holy See Colloquium on Migration and Development,” Pope Francis characterized the tens of thousands of illegal immigrants that have crossed the U.S. southern border as a product of globalization, suggesting that the phenomenon is happening worldwide. Francis proclaimed, “Despite the large influx of migrants present in all continents and in almost all countries, migration is still seen as an emergency, or as a circumstantial and sporadic fact, while instead it has now become a hallmark of our society and a challenge.” Emmer McCarthy for Vatican Radio said Francis expressed his concern for “the tens of thousands of

The First Lady of these United States has declared war on Chick-fil-A. It seems the home of plump juicy breasts and hot buttered buns has run afoul of the new Smart Snacks in School program. The program is a component of Mrs. Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. The new government regulations require snack items served in public schools to have less than two hundred calories. That includes vending machines, lunch rooms and other campus food venues. And that’s really bad news for kids at South Carolina’s Socastee High School. They’ve just learned they will no longer be allowed to buy Chick-fil-A

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future. The appealing idea is to let current illegals stay while taking the steps necessary to prevent further waves. The lie is the assumption that, once current illegals get their legalization, pro-immigrant activists in both parties will continue to support the second half of the bargain, the increased security. With Bill on the skids and his wife’s future prospects on the line, it was necessary for the pubic to see the president being punished, said Weekly Standard online editor Daniel Halper in his new book, “Clinton, Inc.: The Audacious Rebuilding of a Political Machine.” “They understood that
