William Devane (IMDb page), who plays “President James Heller” on Fox’s prime time 24: Live Another Day, told USA Today that “obviously I’m a big fan of Obama, as a guy who’s smart and articulate” and, in his acting, “I say to myself, ‘what has got to be going on in the private side of this guy’s brain’ – the pressure, the racism that is thrown out — and he handles it with such dignity.’” Devane empathized with Barack Obama’s plight: “There’s gotta be a private side to him where he goes, ‘Why do I have this job?’” A new episode of

Heavy sigh. I´m sick of these fools saying Obama is so "smart." what a pathetic joke that is. What is worse is Devane says: "...the pressure, the racism that is thrown out — and he handles it with such dignity." Really? Such racism?? And Obama handles things with such dignity? Obama wouldn´t know dignity if it smacked him in the face. He´s the must undignified president we have ever had. I will still watch 24. So far they haven´t messed it up.

Concerning those Rosland Capital gold commercials, I really miss G. Gordon Liddy, who is at least an accomplished actor as William Devane, and about fifty IQ points smarter. And same as #8 I remember when Devane played JFK, although I preferred him in his role as "Carter" (of the Outfit) in Mel Gibson´s Payback (1999). (He eats a slug in his central thorax and expires in his chair.)

(The G man played the evil Maynard aka Captain Real Estate on two episodes of Miami Vice in 1985 and 1986. Both times he escaped from Sonny and Rico. In that role he was thoroughly, chillingly believable, and could have made a full time career for himself as an actor.)

Virtually every key House Republican, from Speaker John Boehner on down, has vowed to oppose a conference committee with the Senate´s immigration bill passed last year. And lawmakers working to craft legislation to address the tens of thousands of children streaming across the southern U.S. border say it won´t touch citizenship for illegal aliens, increased visas, or any other topics than border security. But a key veteran of the immigration wars on Capitol Hill is warning that legislation to amend a 2008 law being cited for cumbersome, years-long deportations would theoretically open the door to a conference committee on the controversial

HOUSTON, Texas--Despite the border crisis that involves more than 1,000 illegal immigrants entering the country each day, Texas Democratic Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee apparently believes the U.S.-Mexico border is "under control." On MSNBC she recently said, "I disagree it is in devastating condition. I think with now 21,000 border patrol agents it is under control." She added that Border Patrol agents told her that "they are able to do their job, even though they had been called into service to change diapers and make formula."

President Obama’s defiant emphasis on executive action reveals a larger failure looming for his legacy: His inability to work with Republicans means that he’s unlikely to score even one significant legislative achievement over the final years of his presidency. Unless Democrats win back the House and hold onto the Senate in November, a scenario dismissed by most political analysts, Mr. Obama has said goodbye long ago to his biggest accomplishments in Congress. They occurred back in 2010, when Democrats controlled the House and Senate, and Mr. Obama signed into law Obamacare, the Dodd-Frank Wall Street reform act and a two-year extension

“Trust” is for Con Men: The reaction to the border chaos in Texas has accomplished one thing: It has exploded the lie at the heart of current “comprehensive” immigration reform plans. The basic structure of those plans is a swap of a) near-immediate legalization for b) increased border security in the future.
