From Ghoulies, Ghosties, Long-Legged
Beasties, and Romney Presidential
Campaigns, Good Lord Deliver Us

The title of this post is a slightly altered Scottish prayer, employed by frazzled parents no doubt, seeking to scare their children into good behavior. This one is to be employed by Republicans with more than two brain cells working who fear another Romney presidential campaign. Mitt Romney as Republican elder statesman, I don’t mind. The silver hair, square jaw, dignified bearing — perfectly cast as an old, wise man of the GOP. But Mitt Romney running for president a third time? The gag reflex is immediately activated and I frantically look around for a handy paper bag. No way. There’s just no

Comments:
If Romney is chosen by the establishment Republicans as our candidate we will be guaranteed a Democrat president in 2016. It was bad enough the first time around. He should have handily beat (excluding the voter fraud of course) Obama but too many conservatives stayed home.

Oh, for heaven´s sake: Romney has repeatedly denied that he is even considering running for President in 2016. All these articles pro and con on that question are a waste of time.

The writer really misses the ball on this one FTA:
"There are plenty of Republicans out there who are considering running for president who would be acceptable to the majority of Americans. Most of them are not household names, but what does that matter? Barack Obama was a nobody before the media made him into someone...."

What makes Moran suppose that the MSM might be willing to make a Republican nobody into a somebody? Get a clue. The only publicity the MSM ever gives to a Republican presidential candidate is negative publicity.

Excuse me, folks, but we´re being jerked around again.

What the heck are we doing, talking about 2016?! We should be laser-focused on 2014. How do we elect the maximum number of pro-America (and, almost by definition, anti-DC) candidates to Congress this Fall should be our main political goal.

Obviously, since this promises to be such a good year for Republicans, there are those who would like to distract us from the hard (but necessary) work of clearly defining winning messages. [Why did we let the messages of Brat, Jindal, Cruz, Walker and other clear thinkers get pushed off the front pages of our minds?]

Yes, we care about Romney - Yea or Nay; Cruz vs Perry; Senator vs Governor, etc. But all in due time. First things first. Prioritize! 2014.

The Internal Revenue Service claims, as of last Friday, that two years’ worth of Lois Lerner’s external emails are gone forever. You can read the letter in which the IRS told Senators Hatch and Wyden that Lerner’s external emails from 2009 to 2011, the critical time period for the IRS’s effort to suppress conservative nonprofits, have been lost, here. The letter is signed by Leonard Oursler, National Director for Legislative Affairs. If you keep reading, you eventually will get to the part about Lerner’s emails. The IRS describes its system for storing emails. As I noted here, emails reside in user

There are tens of thousands of children languishing on our southern border because Mexican drug cartels are brilliant strategists and DC politicians are excellent enablers. Nine years ago, while making BORDER, we filmed the arrests of children being smuggled across the border by drug cartel scouts (coyotes). The cartels knew that Border Patrol (BP) did not have sufficient storage capacity for family groups, especially children, so they quickly and strategically began inserting groups over the border as decoys. It worked awesomely. BP would be swamped processing the kids, while the cartels would hit the fence, simultaneously, in eight or nine different

Majority Leader Eric Cantor was deposed in a shocking primary upset largely over his support for providing amnesty to illegal aliens brought to the U.S. as minors. However, in the campaign to replace him, anti-amnesty advocates say both candidates are largely coming from the same place Cantor was. Whip Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Rep. Raul Labrador (R-ID) both support legalization for the undocumented immigrants already in the country and are largely in line with establishment thinking on the issue. “They are both what I would call high immigration guys. A Republican congressman said in a radio interview today that the House probably has the votes to impeach President Obama, if things got so bad that impeachment became their only recourse. Congressman Lou Barletta told Gary Sutton that the issue of impeachment is an important one to address with Obama “absolutely ignoring the Constitution and ignoring the laws.” A couple of Republicans have floated the idea of impeachment and the House having enough votes for impeachment before, and Barletta’s no different, claiming there’s a good chance impeachment could pass the Republican-led House if they took a vote. “For those that

In response to a federal judge’s ruling that Wisconsin’s ban on homosexual marriage was unconstitutional, Bishop Robert Morlino, head of the Catholic diocese of Madison, Wisc., said the judge had “shaken one of the most precious and essential building blocks of our civilization,” and that when this “first ‘domino’ of civilization’” – man-woman marriage – is toppled, then “all subsequent ‘dominos’” of civilization fall. The bishop also said that in felling this first domino, “everything that is good, true, and beautiful, which is rooted in the natural family, is seriously threatened.” Back on June 6, U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb

In a statement released Monday, GM said that the switches can rotate out of ´run´ if the key has excess weight and the car ´experiences some jarring event´, such as hitting a pothole or crossing a railroad track. That can shut off the engines and disable power steering, causing drivers to lose control. Also, the air bags won´t work. The recall affects seven cars with

Members of Congress called on President Obama Sunday to link up with Arab allies and quell a quick-moving crisis in Iraq, where Islamic militants swept toward Baghdad and left a bloody trail in their wake. Republican lawmakers said the administration has sat on the sidelines for too long as sectarian violence threatens to undo what U.S. troops accomplished during the war in Iraq. The bloodshed spurred by militants from an al Qaeda splinter group could topple the country’s fragile government while civil war rages in neighboring Syria, they said, offering a magnet for extremists from Iran and even western nations.
