Fallon: Actress Audra McDonald broke the record last week when she won her sixth Tony Award. Yeah, now she’s got more Tonys than a beach in New Jersey.
Conan: Three Quebec inmates escaped prison by helicopter. Prison officials grew suspicious when they noticed the inmates building a helicopter.
Meyers: Three Canadians escaped prison by jumping onto a helicopter landing in the prison yard. From there, it was just a short flight to the getaway Zamboni.
Conan: Hillary Clinton said she and her husband Bill were dead broke when they left the White House. Hillary said things were so bad the two of them had to share a bedroom.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said there are a number of “qualified women” who could run for president in 2016 but added that, whoever runs, they need to understand that politics in America is “probably the most difficult, even brutal, in the world.” On CBS Sunday Morning, guest host Jane Pauley displayed a long list of countries that have (or had) female leaders, including Great Britain, and said, “If not you, who? Who is the viable woman of either party who could win a primary nomination in 2016, if not you?” (Snip) Clinton then continued, “But politics is so

The White House will be welcoming undocumented immigrants shielded from deportation by the president’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals Program Tuesday even as the policy has precipitated a crisis on the southern border as tens of thousands of children stream across with hopes of amnesty. (Snip) The event comes as unaccompanied illegal immigrant minors, many from Central America, are coming across the border in droves amid violence and poverty in their home counties as well as rumors that they will be given a free pass into America. Washington - Reflecting rapidly changing events on the ground in the Middle East, the United States is readying a new, direct channel with Iran that will allow the two powers to coordinate strategy against the menace of ISIS, a terrorist militia conquering territory throughout eastern Syria and northern Iraq. The Obama administration is already preparing a channel separate from its efforts to forge a comprehensive agreement with Iran over its nuclear program, (Snip) "Whatever dialogue may or may not be taking place [with Iran] would take place on the sideline or outside the mainstream of the nuclear talks" in Vienna, US Secretary of State

Black flags over American tanks, Iraqi heads on public display and women threatened with death should they leave their homes – this is the new caliphate pseudo-state of ISIS, perhaps short-lived, but, while breathing, the worst of all case scenarios for anyone invested in the Middle East. (Snip) We know that ISIS’s current campaign, dubbed Operation Soldier’s Harvest, began in October 2013 with the explicit aim of cementing control of territory for the formation of a caliphate, erasing borders imposed by a colonial West and reimposing strict Shari’a law. With Ramadan approaching on June 28, we can expect ISIS will attempt a

At Commencement, Obama Mocks
Lawmakers Who Deny Climate Change
New York Times, by Mark Landler    Original Article

Anaheim, CA - President Obama, appearing emboldened after his recent move to cut carbon emissions from coal-fired power plants, on Saturday ridiculed members of Congress who deny climate change or plead scientific ignorance as an alibi for avoiding an uncomfortable truth. Speaking in gleefully sarcastic terms to a commencement ceremony at the University of California, Irvine, Mr. Obama likened those who deny climate change to people who would have told John F. Kennedy, at the dawn of the space program, that the moon “was made of cheese.” He saved his most scathing words for lawmakers who say they are not qualified to

Thousands of Shiite Muslims across Iraq took up arms Saturday and joined security forces in the fight against Al Qaeda-inspired militants who have invaded and taken over huge chunks of territory north of Baghdad. The Al Qaeda splinter group, known as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS), has been on the move, conducting an offensive in the western region of the country and now threaten stability in the nation’s capital. A cheerleader for the Russian Revolution in the early 20th century and a leader in the labor movement during the Depression; hounded during the McCarthy era and orphaned after the fall of the Soviet Union, the Communist Party USA on Friday returned to Chicago, the city of its birth. Given the movement´s history, some might wonder why anyone would want to be a communist. But the more than 300 adherents who came to celebrate the party´s 95th anniversary at the University of Illinois at Chicago see it the other way around: Who wouldn´t want to be a member? At any other time, the growing crisis on the Mexican border, with tens of thousands of unaccompanied young people crossing illegally into the United States, might dominate the news. Yet the situation has received less attention than it might amid the furor over House Majority Leader Eric Cantor´s primary defeat, the collapse of Iraq, the continuing Bergdahl matter, and Hillary Clinton´s book tour. In an astonishing challenge to traditional Catholic doctrine, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, nominally Catholic, has taken to telling San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone that he should not attend the National Organization for Marriage’s June 19 march on the Supreme Court in Washington D.C. Cordileone helped raise $1.5 million for the initiative, which intended to ban same-sex marriage in the state. He once said, "The ultimate attack of the evil one is

Kaus became Brat´s de facto press secretary and top advocate on Twitter in the last months of the campaign because Kaus, like Brat, opposes amnesty for illegal immigrants because it would hurt American workers. Bill Clinton is by far the most admired president of the past quarter century, a new poll shows, underscoring how much he has done to burnish his profile since leaving the White House in 2000. Asked which president of the past 25 years they admired most, some 42% of respondents named Mr. Clinton in the new Wall Street Journal/NBC News/Annenberg Survey. That was more than twice the share that named any other president. The other three presidents of the quarter century all polled about the same: 18% said they most admired President Barack Obama; 17% named George W. Bush; and 16%

Members of Congress called on President Obama Sunday to link up with Arab allies and quell a quick-moving crisis in Iraq, where Islamic militants swept toward Baghdad and left a bloody trail in their wake. Republican lawmakers said the administration has sat on the sidelines for too long as sectarian violence threatens to undo what U.S. troops accomplished during the war in Iraq. The bloodshed spurred by militants from an al Qaeda splinter group could topple the country’s fragile government while civil war rages in neighboring Syria, they said, offering a magnet for extremists from Iran and even western nations.
